The 17 Best Restaurants Near Wrigley Field

"If you need a quick bite but want something other than hot dogs, pizza, or Italian beefs, then Zam Zam is a worthwhile pit stop. They serve solid chicken shawarma and falafel sandwiches only a short walk from Wrigley Field. You can always get a hot dog at the game if you have FOMO." - sam faye, adrian kane

The obese female worker is rude! They need to get out of the kitchen if they can't stand the heat. They probably don't know what that phrase means. They don't know what service with a smile means. They're rude to the delivery people who are also customers! I'm not talking about the drivers being busy. I'm talking about them trying to talk smart and being arrogant. I wasn't in a hurry. I know how to pace myself. These foreigners lack understanding and education. I earned a master's degree and enjoy moonlighting as a delivery person. Most people are a master of nothing and claim to be a jack of all trades which means uneducated and ignorant in most areas. There's no justification for a higher education.

The lady at the desk is super rude ! It’s so impressing for me how zamzam team knows and aware of her rudeness, but she still working there and dealing with customers every day…. The problem is I just found out a lot of people has problem dealing with her … She literally Picked up Food with her gloves that she picked the money with... She lies with the timing she doesn’t care if you spend your day waiting there..The attitude is Unbelievable! I was trying to understand why she doing this She literally walked away while I was talking to her .. she raised her voice and that was shocking…It’s a big disappointment to have such a employee like that ..zamzam Has a great desserts.. But people is definitely Gonna start hate going there not to deal with this disrespectful woman… The chocolate kanafa is AMAZING But the woman at the desk ruined everything for us today … Very unprofessional, very disrespectful and full of attitude…

Ordered Zam Zam for the first time tonight. This was truly love at first bite. OMG it's so good!! Some of the best falafel I've ever had and the garlic sauce is addictive. Easy ordering on the website. Speedy delivery and everything arrived hot and packed well. So happy to find this so close to home. How lucky!

Tasty food, with perfect ingredients for a great authentic experience. Great spot for a quick bite or take out. Authentic atmosphere with perfectly fitting music. Will come back and recommend to friends.

Google
If you're coming out of a Cubs game or in Wrigleyville and you want to get some great tasting Middle Eastern street food within walking distance of Wrigley Field, this is definitely worth the stop. The menu has all your different shawarmas and falafels with fries, soups and rice as side options. I tried the chicken shawarma in a pita and it was very good, although I felt mine had a little too much sauce. Definitely let them know how much sauce you want. Other than that the staff was very friendly and the dining area was very well kept. They'll even let you use their bathroom if you're not even buying anything which is super rare. I will definitely return to Zam Zam and would recommend it to anyone.

Google
Ordered delivery a few times and both times the food came faster than expected and was very good! We ordered two chicken shawarma dinners and liked the variety of side options it came with. Will definitely order from again.

Google
Great food, it is very delicious. Amazing service the cashier is a very sweet woman. I believe her name is Wendy. I recommend the chicken shawarma.

Google
Everything was very good. The hostess was delightful and very accommodating with me customizing my menu item a bit. Just a few suggestions. I would love it if customizing in order for a bit easier. For example I had the bull that includes falafel but I don't like falafel. I also subbed out the baba ganoush instead of the hummus. It would be nice if you could just pick a protein veggies and a few sides. I would also love to have cucumber dill sauce as a side and not an entire dish.

Yelp
Delicious food! Delicious Shawarma bowls and lentil soup! My family and I have been ordering from Zam Zam for years. Very fresh!

Yelp
Place wasn't too crowded after a Cubs game which is surprising. The ambiance is very casual & the menu was pretty robust. I ordered a steak sandwich in pita and added on a side of fries and drink. Everything was delicious, but the side of fries was MASSIVE. They were the kind that you can eat hot or cold though which I appreciated later on in the evening.

Yelp
Super good food. Chicken shawarma is amazing and i love the environment of this place.

Yelp
Ordered Zam Zam for delivery and first of all, they delivered my meal within 20 minutes! Impressive. I ordered the beef shawarma with the Zam Zam salad (tomato's, cucumbers, onion, cilantro, jalapeños), and hummus. As well as a side of pita bread. Pros: Loved the beef shawarma and rice. It was well flavored and tasty! I also enjoyed Zam Zam salad, which was light and a good pallet cleanser. The white sauce and hot sauce I would highly recommend because they make the beef even tastier! Cons: The hummus was strange to me and was oddly yellow? It was not flavorful so I ended up skipping eating it. I wish that they had better pita bread as well, it definitely came out of a bag of already made pita bread and not out of the oven.

Yelp
Bam bam! I ate here and it was so good it made me say damn damn! Zam Zam is definitely one of the best places for Middle Eastern and Mediterranean. Good stuff and big ass portions make up for the cost. There's a lot for vegans and vegetarians to check out. After running around all morning I needed some grub. I happened to be nearby. The cool name of the place caught my eye, so I gave it a try. Glad I did. They have several ordering options, including bowls, plates, and salads. I got the Veggie Plate. It's about $14, the only bad thing I can say. The price was high but there was a ton of food on this. For this plate, it comes with dolmanthes and falafel. There's baba ghannouch and hummus too. Also you get choices of sauces and sides. I got cucumber salad and tabbouli. Also you get pita bread. That's a lot. Boy, after all that food I needed to run around again. I could eat here every day and become a fatass. The prices luckily will keep that from happening thankfully.

Kelly F.

Yelp
Ive ordered here plenty of times and it's usually good. The falafal is perfect, IMO. However, their chicken is just SO incredibly salty. Tonight it was so salty i had to throw it away. It was like eating straight salt. Wont be ordering the chicken anymore.

Joe J.

Yelp
After completing the stay I was very pleased Good very good. Hummus I was just driving through Chicago originally from Waukesha.
google avatar

Meghan O.

Yelp
Terrible food taste and I was starving. The chix bowl was expensive and the cabbage and veggies were soggy and laden with salt.

Heather G.

Yelp
This was different, but perfect meal after a great day watching the cubs win. The service was done with a smile and the entire crew seemed super friendly and helpful while we were making our choices. It was quaint and felt authentic and getting to people watch at the big windows was very enjoyable.
google avatar

Yelp
This food is so good and the service is so quick. I like to get the falafel wrap, french fries, and the garlic mashed potatoes they are addictive. The combination of those things is just an amazing meal. Definitely check this place out!
google avatar

Hailey D.

Yelp
Super good food for a great price! The cucumber salad was delicious. I also got the chicken kabobs and garlic sauce and it was so good! My friend got the falafel quesadilla and really liked it. I will 100% be back!

Yelp
Visiting a friend in town and she recommended Zam Zam down the road so I checked it out. The guy taking the order was very friendly and patient with me while I tried to figure out their vast menu. I ended up getting the beef kafta with rice plate. For $16 you get SO much food since it also comes with two sides (I picked hummus and baba ganoush) and 2 falafel, as well as two large pieces of pita. The kafta was alright but the falafel was super delicious with a crispy outside. The hummus and baba ganoush were also very delicious and I found myself eating them with everything. Overall - a great middle eastern place with huge portions for the price. Definitely recommend for a fresh bite.

Yelp
Good for halal food in a pinch if you're in the area. Prices are high for quality of food and portions. Falafels and garlic sauce are good but felt the meat was a little dry even when eaten fresh. They charge extra for sauces on menu but sometimes they'll throw it in free if they're feeling generous.
google avatar

Gabriella N.

Yelp
This place was delicious! Ordering online was easy and quick. The food was slotted to be ready in 15-25 minutes and was ready before then. All of the food was fresh, and the prices were affordable, especially for the amount of food given. One odd thing-- I couldn't order the veggie bowl via grubhub, as it wasn't on the menu, but we got the falafel bowl which was delicious. Quick edit - mere moments after my review, the management fixed the glitch on the website! Huzzah!
google avatar

Raye T.

Yelp
Amazing food!!!! Had the shawarma plate with baba ganoush and zam zam salad. Can't wait to come here again!
google avatar

Yelp
Very disappointed in recent orders. I have been ordering from here for 4+ years and always loved it. Recently I ordered the same thing as usual - chicken shawarma wrap, spicy - and there is a very distinct olive taste. I hate olives. HATE. There is no mention of this anywhere so it came as a total surprise. Still love the garlic sauce though.

Yelp
Wow. We ordered delivery from Zam Zam tonight oooooooweee bizam aram katam madam BAM! Was it good!!!!! I got the chicken shawarma plate. Comes with more rice and chicken than you could ever eat, 2 falafels and 2 sides. For my sides I ordered the lentil soup and the hummus. The hummus was great but they forgot my lentil soup, unfortunately. I'm not docking a star because I didn't bother to call and tell then or ask them to bring me one. No big deal, I'll get it next time. My boyfriend ordered the steak shawarma plate with tabouli and Zam Zam salad and loved it all. This is my 200th Yelp review. Boomshakala.
google avatar

Justine C.

Yelp
Wow their food here is delicious!! It was my first time trying their food and I ordered the Chicken Kabob Rice Plate with Zam zam salad and Baba Ganouj as my sides. The food was amazing and the chicken was grilled perfectly with lots of flavor! I also enjoyed the refreshing zam zam salad. Everything was solid portion sizes as well. Can't wait to check out this place again!

Yelp
Shocked at how good this food was. My son who lives in Wrigleyville took me there saying it was his favorite restaurant. It looks like a fast food place but offers high end authentically made middle-Eastern food. Highly recommend.
google avatar

Chloe M.

Yelp
I've lived around the corner from Zam Zam for the last 10 years and cannot stop going back. They have tasty and fresh food at a convenient price, not to mention a perfect location not from from Wrigley field. I personally love the chicken shawarma but their z Zam salad is also delicious. You really can't go wrong with the food and the people that work there are so sweet and helpful. A neighborhood classic!!!!!!!
google avatar

Heather P.

Yelp
Ordered to go and pick up was super quick and workers were friendly! Chicken had lots of flavor and the portion size was good. I live relatively close so it's convenient to me but I wouldn't really go out of my way to come here. Good if you want something fast. I'd personally come back though
google avatar

Richard M.

Yelp
Ordered through Über Eats. Ordered the salad. Way less veggies than what was pictured online. Really small portion of salad too. The chicken was good and redeemed the entire meal. Good portion. What was a joke though was the packet of Newman's dressing?! Your restaurant must have gallons of olive oil and you can't make house made dressing. Was surprised. The dolmas tasted good but terribly small portion. Just way over priced meal for what you got. I miss working downtown and eating at Oasis. Best middle eastern food in the city.

Yelp
Decided to order some delivery for Sunday Funday from one of my favorite Middle Eastern places in Chicago! I'm very glad they are still in business with the pandemic still going on as some of my favorite bars in the city have closed. RIP Dark Horse... I decided to order something new and I went with the Beef Kafta Laffa spicy, Spinach Pie, and a side of Falafel with garlic sauce and the tahini sauce comes with the falafel. I have never had the Laffa and Spinach Pie before as I typically order a bowl with pita bread/sauces on the side to create my own wraps. The Beef Kafta Laffa was excellent and was still warm when it arrived! It reminded me of a super flavorful burger with all of the sauces combined. The Laffa is a lot better than their pita bread as it's softer, thicker, and I think it has more flavor. I believe the Laffa is something sort of new on their menu and it was excellent! The spinach pie was decent and the bread was super soft. It was a nice vegetarian side. The falafel is always solid and I always have to order it! They revamped some things on their food over the years. And it is definitely for the better! Falafel has increased to 6 from 4. The White Garlic Sauce and Tahini Sauce are thicker now than years ago, which adds more flavor as they used to be a little watered down. The Laffas are a nice touch and they got new delivery packaging where I think you get more food now. Just a suggestion for the future. Add an option to be able to buy a Laffa on the side at an additional charge. The Laffa wrap is a lot better than your pita bread as it's softer and it has more flavor IMO. I would totally buy a bowl/plate and buy some wraps on the side to create my own sandwiches as that is what I do with the pita bread currently. Overall, Zam Zam is great for late night drunk food and totally beats the somewhat overrated Dimo's next door. And they are a master at their delivery service. Food was at my door within 30 mins and that is the average time with all of my orders to Lincoln Square (I used to live in Wrigleyville). Zam Zam is one of the best bang for your bucks in the city as those bowls/plates portion sizes are enough food for two meals. And their wraps are very filling as well. I love Zam Zam! Keep doing a great job!

Amanda L.

Yelp
I ordered delivery from Zam Zam and really enjoyed it! I am a massively indecisive person so I decided to try the Sandstorm plate, which is basically a grab bag of beef, chicken, falafel, rice and your choice of sides. Sometimes chicken shawarma can be dry but I, surprisingly, preferred it to the beef. I absolutely LOVE Jerusalem salad and theirs is awesome-- I could probably make a meal out of that and some hummus! Not to be upstaged, the optional pita is perfectly pillowy and the falafel have a great texture-- crisp outside, tender but not mushy interior. It's a little more expensive at first glance than some other similar spots in the area but the portions are gigantic and, in my eyes, a very good value. Delivery arrived nearly 20 minutes early which is a huge bonus! I recommend ordering an extra side of the garlic sauce for your order as the included portions won't be enough for such a big plate. I will most definitely be ordering from Zam Zam again.
google avatar

Tim C.

Yelp
Zam Zam is our go-to middle eastern cuisine. The food is outstanding. The sandstorm bowl is amazing. Food quality is not the reason for my 4/5 star review. Several times ordering from Zam Zam have key items been missing, which very much make the meal. Probably 3-4 different occasions I've had items missing such as the pita bread or the sauces (which they charge $1.50 for a small cup on hot sauce). So again, food is outstanding, but the constant worry you're going to get all of the food you order is something to keep in mind. Probably would recommend pick up and not delivery because of this if you were in between.

Yelp
Came here after a few too many drinks at my local watering hole across the street. I ordered 2 meals and 2 chicken shwarma sandwiches, some sides... a ton of food if you will. The guy at the counter was super receptive to what I'm assuming was a big drunk guy slurring his way through an order. He gave us extra pita bread at no charge for my huge hummus order. On the way out the bag caught the corner of the door and ripped open and dropped to the floor. The same guy at the counter actually came out and checked out everything and asked if there was anything that spilled that he could remake.... I repeat; anything that spilled so he could remake it..... What? That is unheard of. It wasn't his fault, and he still volunteered to remake food for me for free. What amazing customer service that was...i was in shock. Luckily nothing broke open and i went home and had some awesome lentil soup and shwarma. Go here. They rock.

Eileen D.

Yelp
I went here with friends and we were all completely floored by how good the food was! A super easy find near Wrigley and not too crowded! Most people take it to go but we sat in and were able to chat and have a great time. Highly recommend!
google avatar

Corissa F.

Yelp
Updating this as I feel like my review may have been a little unfair due to inflation and other costs increasing during this time.
google avatar

Peter B.

Yelp
I had the Beef shawarma dinner with tabouli salad and falafel as my sides. Had I known ahead of time that the meal would come with 2 falafel balls, I would have ordered a different side, but the falafel was still great. The ingredients were fresh and overall the food was delicious. I definitely enjoyed the meal, and will order again soon.

Yelp
Best middle eastern food in Chicago ! Super yummi food ! Love the authentic steak wrap ! AMAZING. Best homemade falafels . The lamb chop plate is super tasty .

Jacob C.

Yelp
The food here is not even fit for a dog to eat the food came up cold the pita bread was extremely chewy they had the doorwide open on a rainy cold day the guy that was making the orders was sitting on the phone for 15 minutes while we stared at him as we were the only customers in there I have been to a lot of Mediterranean food places in this by far is the worst If everything is fresh then why was it ice cold ? It took him 5 minutes to hand me the food it took him 15 minutes to acknowledge me after standing in front of him

Yelp
I'm still shocked at how disastrous this service has been. Ordered a meal via UberEats. Zam Zam uses their own delivery driver. My partner was outside the home when the driver called and said he left it at the front porch, but we never saw him. We searched the 2 houses north, south, and across the street from us. Nothing. We had a slightly different number listed than our address, but it would have been delivered to the same front door. So, we called Zam Zam. "Rosie" said she could not "do anything about" it because the driver had "too much to do." We asked why he couldn't swing back around because we're still customers too (and by this time its getting late and waiting for another order by this or another place). She said: "Well next time, don't write the wrong address." We repeated that it wouldn't matter, and she said, "Well, I'm going to take you off the line so I can work with other people." My partner had to call back and request a refund. She refused to do it immediately -- said she might not get back to it till tomorrow. The restaurant still hasn't closed our order on UberEats, so we can't even resolve our refund through the app. (Can't even rate them yet). It's been over 15 minutes since we called and the restaurant still hasn't closed our order. We asked for her manager and refused to tell us that person's name or hand the phone over. It was incredible that we received no help and no apologies. We were instead blamed for the poor service. After being long-time Zam Zam customers, I think this soured us from ever ordering here again.

Diana E.

Yelp
Ok not the best. The service was slow and the food was mid. There are definitely better middle eastern places.
google avatar

Anna B.

Yelp
My husband and I ordered here through Uber Eats for dinner and we both enjoyed our meals. I had the chicken kabob plate served with rice and a choice of two sides (I picked Jerusalem salad and hummus) and everything was very tasty. Each of our meals came with 2 falafels as well, which was a nice touch. Prices were reasonable, portions were generous, and there was enough food for leftovers the next day. The food did arrive to us on the colder side, but it was no problem to reheat in the microwave. Overall this is a really good Middle Eastern option in the neighborhood and we will definitely order again in the future.
google avatar

Megan K.

Yelp
How is any spot open for late-night eating in Wrigleyville so good? It is tho. I often get one of the platters and then get a little extra meat for later, since they give so much rice. Honestly, it's satisfying drunk, sober, or hungover, dine in (when available) or delivery. Get some extra white sauce and hot sauce!
google avatar

Annalise S.

Yelp
Had the chicken shawarma plate, and loved it! Came with two falafel, rice, and two sides. I chose hummus and the Zam Zam salad. So good, will definitely order again!
google avatar

Jonathan K.

Yelp
Sandstorm plate! Marvelous! Sorry I could not wait to dig in. 2 sides- falafel and hummus extra tahini sauce
google avatar

Olivia R.

Yelp
Best shawarma i've had in years!!!! I used to eat shawarmas every week in my home country, but in the here in the US, i simply haven't found the taste to my liking... until Zam Zam!!! Walked in coincidently after a Cubs game on Sunday. Place was empty, clean, friendly staff. Order was quick and the guy was knowledgeable and very helpful. The food was sooo good. My friends had hummus and fries. We ate it all even tho we didn't have to half way through the meal. I highly recommend this place. I'm sorry i don't live anywhere close so i can go again soon...
google avatar

Linda A.

Yelp
Amazing food! So fresh and portioned to last 3 lunches in one! The chicken was a bit dry but their awesome garlic sauce and hot sauce (made fresh) complimented it well!
google avatar

Meghan J.

Yelp
Phenomenal food. Best gyro wrap I've ever had. Hummus is so delish. My husband had the gyro plate and the tabbouleh was extremely fresh. Don't forget to add the mouth-watering garlic sauce to your order!
google avatar

Taylor B.

Yelp
Excellent chicken shawarma. You can tell it's quality meat. Falafel is good even with carry out and pairs perfectly with their white garlic sauce. The hummus is a bit oily but also great flavor. Consistent and reliable- all you need out of a restaurant
google avatar

Alana S.

Yelp
Easily has the best: chicken shawarma, falafel, and baba ganoush in lakeview. Their lamb chops, hummus, and salads are solid, and they deliver super fast! I wish I could get the tzatziki sauce as a side- the garlic and hot sauce are both awesome though. Skip the baklava and the pita. Their lentil soup is either literally mine-blowingly good, or, on the off days, inedible. Such is life. They're always on time (if not early!) polite, patient, and never once make you regret ordering from them. What else can you ask for?! Call in your order now!
google avatar

Kelly B.

Yelp
Oh Zam Zam...where do I begin? I've lived 3 blocks away for almost a year and never ate here until this week. Well better late than never cause this place is banging! I got the sandstorm plate and the first bite I took had me saying "Oh my god" out loud. I ordered delivery so can't speak much for the overall vibe of the restaurant, but the portions are very generous, prices are pretty standard/fair, and everything was fresh and delicious. I had extra for lunch the next day! Will be ordering again in the future. Thanks Zam Zam!
google avatar

Molly Y.

Yelp
This place is so good. Come hungry! Like many Mediterranean/Middle Eastern takeout places, the portions are large - enough for 2 dinners. I love having leftovers. Everything was seasoned nicely. I ordered no white sauce. The food is flavorful so you don't need to add anything at all. I've had it twice now, both times delivery. The food came quickly and was correct both times. I'm happy I ordered from Zam Zam and I will order again!
google avatar

Yelp
My friend recommended this place and so glad I tried it. It was amazing! A minor complaint was the fries. The fries arrived soggy but I'm guessing that's because of the moisture that built up inside the box as it was being delivered to me (at least that's what I'm telling myself). Overall, delicious food.

Kim K.

Yelp
Great portions, but terrible meat quality. I got the chicken shawarma but it was so so dry and hard to chew. Shawarma is typically seasoned well, but this chicken lacked flavor. The sides were the best part of the meal, and the falafel was warm and moist which was delicious.

Robert Y.

Yelp
So I tried this place. Ordered online through their site and requested an order to be delivered at 7:15. I got a text in reply that said: Zam-Zam Middle Eastern Grill: Your order #3959D4C7 was confirmed and will be delivered between 7:15 PM-7:30 PM (CDT) on 7/29/2022. Reply STOP to unsubscribe. Message and data rates may apply. So I grab my phone at 7:05 because I try not to have it attached to me all the damn time. And what do I see but my food was delivered 28 minutes ago. Didn't buzz! Just left a text 38 minutes before I thought the food would arrive. So I call them up to tell them my tale of woe. And I go straight to voicemail. I call the driver who sent the text and I get told hold on then a hang up. So I call back to Zam Zam and get instant hostility. I should have been monitoring my texts and it's my fault. And it is. I ordered from this fly by night hole. I would like to leave a review of the food. But since I am still reheating it I can't comment. I can say the picture of the Dolmas is misleading. They are smaller than a miniature Gherkin. Please learn from my mistake.

Yelp
We were in the mood for some Mediterranean food delivered and tried this for the first time. Our order was 100% accurate and arrived quickly. I had a falafel wrap and would order it again in a heartbeat. I got all the toppings and it was delicious with a nose-watering spicey punch, generous portion too. I really didn't even need side dishes. Loved the flavor of the lentil soup, it had just the right amount of lemon. That said, it was a little in the watery dude and I generally prefer a little thicker lentil soup. Tabboulah salad was awesome (even the next day). It was extremely fresh and a humongous portion size! My husband got the chicken kebab. He was hoping for more vegetables on the kebab. It was a large serving of rice with Chicken and an optional side (he got Lentil soup). Overall, this was pretty good for delivery. We will try it again and maybe try some other options on the menu.

Yelp
Some of the middle eastern places around town are just a tad bit sketchy. This is not one of them. This is a 1st class, professional operation. This is how fast middle eastern is done, and should always be done. It's the attention to detail. Not just the food, but stuff like the packaging, which is high end. They don't just plop the food in an overflowing shitty styrofoam and call it a day. It is properly sealed, in good containers with lids that don't come off in transit. And its fast service. The food. i've stuck with two things. The Chicken Schawarma Lafta is a goddamn perfect sandwich, with its crispy pita housing just the right ratios of meat to pickles to sauce to filling. I can't imagine anyone doing this better. And the veggie plate, which lets you try the hummus, the baba, the tabouli, the falafel, and the dolma, plus the pita. All are top notch. Fresh, flavorful, well textured. As for the pita and hummus specifically, its got to be way better than you can get at Jewels. Hear that other sketchy middle eastern places around town? Zam Zams, you pass the test.
