Zämbies Pizza

I grab pizza all over the city with my kids and we tried Zambies recently. My kids (like most i assume) aren't always the most adventurous with crazy flavor combinations so we played it safe and grabbed a few slices of cheese and a slice of the pepperoni to take home. We loved the large slices and I've got nothing bad to say at all. It taste like pizza and pizza taste good. Not exactly a top five place for me personally but it was good pizza.

Good pizza, thin large crispy slices. Probably the only place I don’t get a cheese slice. My go to is the sleeping beauty, but all of the ones we’ve have tried have been good. These slices are huge and baked just right. It is usually busy, but they have a good system for ordering and the line moves quick. Not much seating and it’s a high traffic so some parts don’t look as pristine all the time. Parking may be an issue. We definitely get it to go and enjoy it on our walk or in the car.

Went in for the veggie and the special. I actually felt like I was eating my vegetables and the special was a meat supreme. Giant slices and I enjoy that the crust isn't slathered in butter. Keeps you from feeling heavy right after. Both slices with a pellegrino was only $20 so I will be back

Stopped in for a quick lunch at Zambies. From standing in line I could tell the manager or owner seemed very personable and had made a lot of relationship with his customers. They had a special with a Mexican restaurant across the road. They have come up with something with it. It was very good. The cheese and pepperoni were really good too. Although large slices they are very thin with a crisp. So not as daunting as they seem. The crust on the end was surprisingly fluffy which really helped balance the pizza. It’s a small shop with limited seating but worth trying to grab a seat and a bite.

Pizza slices are HUGE! As big as your head and they’re delicious!!! They have traditional toppings and other funky combinations as well. $7 per slice or $50 per pie. Thin crust and have to fold to eat, and the crust had a garlic flavored, SO GOOD!! Highly recommend!

I’ve had pizza all over the world. NYC included. I tried this pizza and couldn’t stop thinking about it for 3 days. So I had to come back. I’m here on my second visit and really getting a chance to sample things. The pepperoni is honestly just such perfection that you can’t miss out on it but don’t let that stop you from trying things like the sleeping beauty and the buffalo chicken. It’s the sauce and the crust for me. They’ve done both so perfectly! I truly don’t think you can leave here unsatisfied. I would come back 1,000 times.

The staff is friendly and quick, you get to see them spin the dough and make the pizza. The slices are 2 paper plates long. The crust is stiff enough the pizza doesn't flop when you fold it and pick it up. But light, airy, and still crunchy. It's a thin crust but isn't overly sauced, and the blend of flavors work well with eachother. The crust taste like the garlic knots (a nice surprise) sitting at the bar you can watch things being made or sit at the window and watch as the area unfolds around you.

I am so glad we stopped into this little pizza shop!! They have something special here! We were sightseeing while at a break from a conference and were told to check Zambia’s pizza out! We can just after 11a and while they were not technically open, Chad welcomed us in and let us know that they had some pizza ready already and were making more so we could order! He recommended the daily special, which was “Not your ordinary pasta wheel” i think. It was absolutely delicious, a cross over of a cacio y pepe and a white pizza, coming together in perfection! He also let us try the house favorite, which is their Sleeping Beauty and holy yum! My friend got the Hawhats up and she loved it too! The crust is so flavorful and perfectly cooked! The toppings were perfectly paired and seasoned too! Absolutely a must try especially if you love pizza!
