Z&Z – Manoushe Bakery

I really enjoyed my experience here. We ordered the Hot Halaby Honey, the Bizza, and the Chicken Shawarma. While the prices are a bit high for personal-sized flatbreads, each Manoushe was incredibly flavorful with a perfect, chewy crust. The Chicken Shawarma Manoushe was quite interesting. It was a bit overwhelming for our taste due to the heavy amount of pickled cucumbers and turnips, which made it very tart, but the drizzled toum was absolutely delicious.

I was on a search for lunch somewhere and decided to look up their options online. Once I saw that Chicken Shawarma was on the menu, I knew I would take the drive to get there. It is one of my favorite flatbreads there and I was excited. In addition to getting that, I also decided to try their Toum dip, for taste (small container of a whipped garlic condiment that is creamy, garlicky and lemony per their website) and their Iced Karak Chai – described as a velvety smooth aromatic cup of chai. All good selections, so I ended up having a great lunch with nothing left behind. Note: The Iced Karak Chai does come with two big ice cubes – I had them remove one.

I used to love pizza based on cheese and toppings. Then it later was based on sauce. After trying to make my own pizza, I finally appreciated crust. Crust at this place is great. Pillowy, charred, airy soft deliciousness. There are several interesting flavors to try but I liked the one that was most like a pizza of the flavors selected- basil, ricotta, spicy tomato sauce- just really good. The chicken shawerma was interesting but a little dry for my taste and the zaatar one was delicious in a spicy cheese breadsticks kinda way. I want to go back and try other flavors- really excellent.

THIS PLACE IS AMAZING‼️‼️ I heard about this place early this year and been wanting to try their delicious pizza and drinks. Finally went yesterday and damn… I’ve been missing out big time! There food is so delicious and high quality, I got the spicy baba and karak chai😍 there shop is kinda in an awkward spot, but it’s worth coming out to for sure. The restaurant is super cute, it has orange decals all over the walls, and the tables sheets! Family owned business I believe. Amazing customer service as well, everyone was so nice:)

The sweetest people ever— celebrated my friend’s birthday unprompted with so many goodies. And that’s besides the point because the food is to die for and so is the chai! I love the hot chicken one! But the lamb one is also delicious! And the burrata was so good! (I think that’s what it was) you can’t go wrong! A bit on the pricier end but fills you up.

Z&Z Zattar Jibneh was absolutely amazing. The flatbread was warm, cheesy, and full of delicious flavor. Dani was incredibly friendly and made the experience even better. I’ll definitely be coming back!

We drove 45 minutes to try this bakery and were not disappointed! We tried the Toum Raider and Spicy Baba, which were both incredibly fresh and flavorful. The za’atar was so good that we ended up buying a bottle. Would highly recommend this eatery!!!

Z&Z is a hidden gem! With its fresh ingredients and inviting atmosphere, this cozy spot serves up delicious Manoushe— Lebanon's answer to pizza. The staff made our first visit extra special, especially the kind woman at the counter who took the time to walk us through the menu. We couldn't resist trying the famous Lebanese Bride and the Classic Palestinian Za'atar, all washed down with mint tea and a yogurt drink. Every bite was fantastic, and the warm, welcoming vibe made it even better. We're already planning our next visit-Z&Z is a must-try!

Stopped by Z&Z today for lunch, I had seen it all over reels and heard nothing but good things - today I saw why! The pizzas were soft as pillows and filled with taste I can't recall the names but the pepperoni pizza had a touch of hot honey and gooey cheese. The pizza with cucumber and tomato mix was light and savory - splitting the two with a friend was the best idea yet. Service was also fast and extremely welcoming, definitely coming back.

Z&Z Manoushe Bakery brings a really cozy concept to the area. The decor is very cute and welcoming, the staff were nice, and the wait wasn't too long at all. Everything also looked beautiful when it came out, the presentation was amazing. I ordered the Toum Raider, and while I loved the idea and freshness, the za'atar was a bit heavy-handed for my taste, making it lean slightly too salty/bitter. That said, the quality of the ingredients definitely came through. I'd absolutely come back, but next time I'd order something with more cheese or cream to help balance out the strong za'atar flavor.

I was just here not that long ago chomping on a Chicken Shawarma Flatbread (one of my favorites here) until I accidentally came across a post on their IG page taking it back to the days of "Chicken Basket's" Steak & Cheese sub - the business before Z&Z in which their Employee of the Month had a hand in. It was a pop-up just for a few hours on 1 day only (11/4) and I made it before the long line. The timing they provided when the sub would be ready was doubled, but I was patient. During that period, you could only order in person or by phone and only the Steak & Cheese. They stayed busy for the time I was there. When I settled down and bit into that sandwich, it tasted so good. I got mine without the Red Hots (described as having a mild heat to them with some sweetness). I am surprised I ate the whole thing - house-made hoagie roll, sesame, ribeye steak, caramelized onions, and American cheese (the truck with the Provolone never made it). I'll always be a fan of Z&Z no matter what they serve. Employees are pleasant as always.

One of my favorite places in the area. These flatbread pizzas are fantastic. If you want a pizza that's light and fresh with a Mediterranean twist this is it. I have not had a flatbread that I did not like. My favorites are the toum raider (clever name) and the Lebanese bride. These two pizzas come with very fresh toppings of cucumbers, yogurt , mint and a heavy toum garlic sauce for the toum raider. The tomb raider has a very crispy flat bread crust and lots of zatar spice, with toums sauce swirled around. The Lebanese bride is much milder and has toppings of cucumbers, tomatoes, mint, and Lebneh which is cheese, but really just taste like yogurt. I found that the crust for the Lebanese bride is actually a lot softer. The bizza is just an amazing cheese pizza that my kid devoured. But I have to mention the best part of being here is that it's family owned and apparently the children are great pranksters. One time we came in here and they were just pictures of their dad as the employee of the month for each month of the year. I may have stolen that prank idea. On a beautiful night, this is actually a great place to just grab a pizza sit outside and eat and then maybe head over to Carmen's to get dessert afterwards.

Fantastic flavor. There's so much flavor in the world and it makes me happy. Lebanese Bride was really good. I took another reviewer's tip and added toum to it. Powerful, garlic flavor. It was perfect. Will come back and try something else. Whatever I get, I'll ask for toum on the side.

This is a tiny shop in a weird little shopping center; I've driven by it hundreds of times at it's visible from the highway, but it is just a couple of shops across from a park and is not normally a happening area. There were plenty of people in line for this place though. I wish I'd ordered ahead. Their chai had a wonderful herbal flavor, though I wish there'd been a bit more chai and less ice. The idea of ordering their version of a pizza seemed a bit silly to me-normally a pita pizza is a kind of make-do item or something you'd give a small child but it's not haute cuisine. The one I got here though, was unbelievably good. The bread chars nicely and the sauce and cheese they use are the kind of quality you'd get at a proper Italian restaurant. Having said that, the person nearby who got the more traditional za'atar covered bread and was shifting between various dips was clearly having a good time. I would certainly like to try that as well.

Best manoushe I've ever had... okay, also the only place I've had it, but still. The bread is light, fluffy, and has that amazing slightly charred "fire oven" flavor. Honestly, I could eat ten of these plain, without any toppings. what I got: Lebanese Bride (5/5): Fresh tomatoes and cucumbers over strained yogurt/cheese. Super refreshing and flavorful. Has mint and zaatar. Tip: ask for toum (garlic sauce) on top, it ties everything together. Lahm Bi Ajeen (3.5/5): Personally didn't love this one; the flavors didn't stand out as much compared to the Lebanese Bride. Wish there was more texture contrast, but very hearty and savory. My friend liked this one more. The food is excellent, but what keeps me from giving five stars is the service. When I asked the staff a simple question about popular options (with no line behind me), I got a dismissive, sarcastic response--"um, all of them??" and then again when I asked a different question about the menu. It honestly made me feel uncomfortable for just trying to learn more about the menu, so I just ordered based on the pictures. Great food, but I really wish the service matched the quality of the dishes. Probs will still come again, just knowing exactly what I want to try next!

I've heard raving reviews about Z&Z's flatbreads (or to be specific, manoushe, which is a Middle Eastern flatbread) from a friend who used to live in the area, and he almost never hypes up food. So my friend and I caught up this past Saturday lunch at Z&Z where we had multiple flatbread options to choose from. It was incredibly popular with many people coming in and out to order food. There are a lot of tables available outside for seating, but fortunately we snagged one of the few tables inside. I got my manoushe ~15 minutes after ordering -- my friend's took a bit longer, so they gave her a brownie for waiting. COCKTAIL - 11 This is the half za'atar and half three cheese blend manoushe, cut into fourths. The flatbread was soft and fluffy, very much fresh out of the oven. I tried a piece of the za'atar first, which was nutty and citrusy. It is a bit greasier than I thought, but it added good flavor. Next, I tried the three cheese blend piece, which was very savory. I'm not sure what cheeses they used, but it was strong and a bit pungent. I enjoyed it! I made it through almost three pieces of the flatbread and had to take the rest home. It sat in my friend's car for a few hours (under the shade) while we were off doing other things, and it was still delicious!

EXCELLENT Levantine spot in Rockville (close to Carmen's and Shanghai Taste, iykyk). The karak chai was one of the best drinks I have ever had. Of the beloved flatbreads we tried: Hot Halaby Honey, Jibneh, and the Lebanese bride. All excellent. Small inside but very cute decor. The bakery was recently listed as one of the best 25 restaurants in DC by The New York Times and I can see why! Will be back soon.

I went by today for my first visit and told the cashier it was my first time. She was very helpful in showing me the options of food with pictures and answering any questions I had. I got the cardamom cream cold brew and Toum Raider. The coffee was delicious and the manoushe was very well spiced and super garlicky. You get the warmth and kindness from them and they were kind to all the workers and delivery people.

Small but inviting, Z&Z is located right next to Carmen's A quick summer lunch here was a treat indeed. We ordered their lemonade and Harissa Chicken manoushe, which was the perfect size for us honestly, but if you're super famished, you might want to get your own manoushe. I could've done with a tad less tartness in my lemonade and dill on the manoushe. Someone even checked in to make sure everything was ok and cleaned our plates pretty quickly after we were done. Thank you!

Delicious, fresh reasonably priced place to come for lunch, especially on a nice day when you can sit outside! The manoushe is pillowy and soft and loaded with fresh ingredients. Quick and easy to order, and the food is ready fast. Be aware that there is only limited inside seating. It's located right next to Carmen's Ice, Neighbors Coffee, and a cute local park - so it's easy to get a variety of items and sample from lots of places at once!

Five stars for freshness and atmosphere! Z&Z is a cozy neighborhood eatery specializing in Manoushe-- traditional Lebanese flatbread similar to pizza. Since it was our first visit, the staff was incredibly welcoming, and the woman at the front desk patiently explained the menu to us. We ordered the popular Lebanese Bride and Classic Palestinian Za' atar, pairing them with refreshing mint tea and a yogurt drink. Everything was delicious, and we loved the vibrant yet relaxed vibe of the place. Without a doubt, we'll be back soon!

You MUST come here! Everything here is made from scratch with high quality ingredients and with love (I can taste the love.) I got the Lebanese Bride and requested some Toum (garlic spread) to be added on top. Every component tasted incredibly fresh and vibrant- from the mint, Za'atar, tomatoes, cucumbers, labneh, and toum. It was very well balanced in terms of flavor profiles. I absolutely loved it and would come again to try a different flavor option! Not to mention, the ambiance is inviting and the service is quick with attentive staff. Come check Z&Z out!

Fresh and delicious!! They pump out manoushe super fast in a cute shop. I've been familiar with Z&Z since their farmers market days and was glad to see their success blossom into a brick and mortar shop. Came on a weekday for a late lunch and the shop was busy, but not inundated with people. Nonetheless, we quickly ordered and our order came out in what felt like 5 minutes??!! It was piping hot and DELICIOUS. The cheese portion was nice and savory while the classic slices were tender with the lovely spice mix. It tastes even better than I remember from the farmers market! Looking forward to returning to try some of the other toppings. Wish the shop were closer to DC, but glad they're dishing these out over in Rockville!

We ordered 2 vegetarian pizza and picked up. Best pizza I've had this year. Excellent flavor and texture. Competitive price as well. Will definitely order again

First I saw a video of the owner demonstrating what Manoushe is. Next, I fell in love at the entrance when the aroma wafted past us. This spot is the SPOT for lunch in the area. It was packed, but barely any wait til our delicious orders came out. So delicious. I also bought some spices and goat soap off of the tiny market shelf. Just love this quirky family run business. Can't forget the rich flavors.

This is honestly my perfect pizza. The crust was so billowing and crunchy. Pizza was nice and thin like I like it and flavor was perfect. Service was fast and simple, really loved that there were photos to help me order. Everyone should try!

The flatbreads here are amazing. Unfortunately it's the only thing I've had from here so I definitely need to go back soon. And to be honest, I haven't personally ever been here. But my brother loves this place and he brings the flatbreads from this place often for the family. The people here are super nice; they delivered a big order for a family event which was pretty far away. The flat breads are fresh; the bread is chewy and delicious, and each one is artfully made. I would definitely recommend this place! (This is me talking about their food when it's eaten fresh, so I can't even imagine how good it's going to be when I order it and eat it immediately).

I had never tried or even heard of manoushe, so I was eager to try Z&Z. Manoushe is essentially a crispy Middle Eastern flatbread. I have only had the classic manoushe, which features a generous helping of za'atar, and it is delicious. I would love to try their other options. Z&Z is a cute, small shop with limited seating inside and small tables outside (shared with Carmen's Italian ice). You can eat the manoushe on site, take it to go, or even buy it frozen from local Whole Foods! I liked it so much that I later bought some from Whole Foods. Why buy a corporate brand frozen pizza when you can buy a frozen manoushe from a loving local family-owned business? Z&Z also sells ingredients on site such as za'atar, so it would be a good place to get a gift for someone who wants to support a local Palestinian business. Service is friendly. Check it out!

I've been wanting to try this place for a long time and was impressed with the service and food! Nassiha welcomed us in as soon stepped through the door and was so friendly and kind with her recommendations. She let me try a sample of the orange blossom lemonade before I purchased it and chatted to us for awhile about the restaurant. My husband and I ordered the Lebanese bride and chicken harissa and both were fantastic. I liked the chewy crust on the outside and crispy crust under the toppings. The baklava was also the best baklava I've had recently, so fresh, crispy, not too sweet, full of walnuts. So happy I was introduced to it here! Will 100% be coming back and can't wait to try the coffee soon!

I waited so long to visit this playce, and i have to say it didnt dissapoint. The pizza was great, different but delicious. You must try it. Their employees were very welcoming and happy to work there. I would not hesitate to go back there whenever I am back in MD.

Unusual and delicious Z & Z offers a variety of made to order flatbreads with Middle Eastern flavors. We tried 4 different flatbreads and each was delicious. The staff is friendly and efficient. There is limited indoor seating and outdoor seating.

One of my favorite spots in the DMW. This place has been on my list for a few weeks and I was pleasantly delighted! I got the classic manoushe and the harissa chicken manoushe. The classic manoushe came with z'atar seasoning on top and tons of olive oil. Very good. My only critique is it was a bit over cooked but still great! The Harrisa chicken was delicious and probably my favorite one. The chicken was juicy, the yogurt was homemade and flavorful and the toppings were fresh. I also got a side of the hot sauce. For $2 they could have given me more. I thought $2 for a small serving was a bit ridiculous. They do sell their seasonings and sauces in the store inside. Will go back to buy some to keep in my house. The inside is small but inviting and staff is nice. Overall I can't wait to go back. Very good and they do deliver to the DC area which is nice if I don't want to drive to Rockville.

Family owned Palestinian restaurant was recommended by a friend and stopped by. Staff was very helpful and offered recommendations. The space is small and feels cozy! I enjoyed the art on the wall and the overall atmosphere. The beef hot honey pepperoni was the star for my family and I. It was flavorful and had a nice kick to it. The Lebanese bride was more on the fresh side but not as flavorful. I also got hummus and pita bread. The hummus was delicious and the pita bread was fluffy! I did feel like overall the prices were generally expensive. They have a harissa chicken that I will be trying next.

Z&Z Manoushe Bakery was recomended by a friend, and with good reason! I visited once, and got the Hot Honey and Cocktail flatbreads, not entirely even knowing what I was ordering, given my (non-existent) ability to read the Arabic on the wall menu. Both were absolutely divine Middle Eastern takes on pizzas that left nothing wanting with delicious crust flavored with fruity, complex olive oil, Za'atar (a blend of seasonings local to the Levant, and a newfound love of mine), and Albanian dry sausages. If you enjoy pizza and Middle Eastern food, and want to venture away from the marinara sauce and mozzarella, this is your spot!

First time at Z & Z and I saw how busy they were. I loved the small business feel and how busy they were definitely reflected how good their food is. The harrisa chicken I ordered had harrisa chicken, red sauce, spices, like cream, and dill. Every bite was so flavorful. The crema balanced so nicely with the slight spiciness of the chicken. The orange blossom lemonade was also unique and refreshing. I will definitely be back soon to try their other menu items. 5 rating!

I wish this place was open later on Sundays especially since they're closed several days a week. We would be a weekly regular if so. I ordered for pickup since sometimes there are no seats inside and with it being cold outside, I didn't really want to entertain sitting outside. There was a new manoushe: harissa chicken so I ordered that along with our go to hot halabi and my child got the hot halabi with the Aleppo pepper on the side (so she can dip or control the spice). Since there was a table available, we decided to dine in. As I was paying for a canned drink, my husband asked if could add a cookie, and watched $9 pop up causing some confusion. When I glanced to look at the cookie after clarifying the price was right, I realize it was the elusive Dubai chocolate cookie. My husband said it just looked good and he hadn't noticed the price or known about how people have been searching for these pistachio chocolate cookies. The harissa chicken has a slight kick and it's good but, in my opinion, nothing really tops the hot halabi. As predicted, my child could not finish the manoushe so we packed up leftovers and the cookie to go. In a last minute decision I also ordered the orange chai to go. Nothing like a hot drink to dip a cookie in! When we got home, we immediately put the cookie in the microwave and heated for the recommended second. The cookie was divine. It actually didn't need the chai and I didn't want to mix the flavors so I ended consuming them separately (sharing with the family). Also, don't sleep on their dips! The toum is super garlicky and a favorite of mine. Their baba ghanoush is very smokey which was a surprise. I prefer my eggplant dips a bit less smokey but it doesn't stop me from getting it!

One of my all time favorite foods in the DMV (and trust me, I've had a lot). The manoushe is super fresh, delicious and flavorful. My personal favorite was the hot halaby chicken and the chicken shawarma manoushe. The Lebanese bride was a close 2nd/3rd. If you're ever in the area, I recommend stopping by, you won't regret it. The place is a family establishment with lots of charm. There are a few tables and other small Arab related items that are sold. I personally really like their homemade Shatta.

I've had Z&Z bookmarked for months and finally made the trek up there from DC. My only regret is that I waited so long, as it's absolutely worth the journey if you aren't nearby. I had the classic manoushe topped with veggies and toum, along with a special chicken shawarma manoushe. I've had a lot of manoushe and the classic at Z&Z is by far the best, it's perfect! They have a small market section with mostly goods that they produce in house. I bought the baba ganoush and it was the best I've ever had, very smokey. I would go up there just for more of their dips. The drink menu is also very interesting. I had the iced karak tea and it was fantastic, not too sweet with a strong black tea flavor. Usually karak tea is too milky or too sweet, but this was bold and spicy. I love that they use big ice cubes so it doesn't get watered down. I couldn't recommend this neighborhood gem more, simply fabulous!

It's a small fast casual place with very limited seating inside and some outdoor seating. They serve Manoushe, which was the first time I've ever had it. We ended up getting the Cocktail, Lebanese Bride, Lahm bi ajeen, Cardamom cream coffee and street corn (special). My favorites were the cocktail and Lebanese bride as both were light and flavorful. The fresh veggies on the Lebanese bride made it refreshing. The cardamom in the coffee was light, but I wish it was a stronger flavor. The street corn was ok. Staff were really nice, and even brought out some of our items outside for us.

My only regret is not discovering this MoCo gem sooner! I popped in and ordered the Lebanese Bride with a side of Toum (bc I am looovverrr of all things garlic forward) for takeout. Fantastic flavor. Staff was incredibly sweet - inside is cozy with a few small tables and there's also a few tables outside to enjoy your meal on a nice day. Will def be back!

A fantastic manqoushe bakery! I recently went here with two friends for a weekend brunch and had a great experience. We were able to get a table immediately at the small, cozy bakery, ordered quickly, and got our food in a timely manner. I also enjoyed getting to see the chefs cook our meal right in front of us. I ordered a coffee with cardamom and a delicious cream and enjoyed it immensely-rich flavors that didn't overwhelm the quality coffee. My friends and I split three things: the Jibneh, Toum Raider, and Cocktail, all of which had delicious crusts and were perfectly baked. The portion sizes were good and everything was fairly priced for size and quality. My favorite was the Toum Raider, which had the right amount of toum (garlic in Arabic), complemented with lots of fresh mint, tomatoes, and cucumbers. Like the Cocktail, there was a bit too much za'atar, which at times overwhelmed everything. The Jibneh (cheese in Arabic) had the right amount of cheese-to-crust ratio and was well-melted with a good ratio of za'atar on top. I would recommend Z&Z for a great breakfast, brunch, or lunch!

Z&z is my favorite manoushe bakery. Msnoushe is a type of middle eastern flatbread. Similar to a pizza but the toppings are what makes it different and unique. I've had all the vegetarian options here and my favorite is the Lebanese bride. The labneh spread with fresh veggies is perfection. The classic plus is in second where it switches out the labneh spread for za'atar. The jibneh is in third and it's good but too reminiscent of a cheese pizza. Reminiscent of a good cheese pizza but still a cheese pizza. There's only one size which is personal sized. An adult finish one by themselves so if you want one, sharing will be limited.

I've been to Z&Z a handful of times by now, but I finally tried their Harissa Chicken pizza. I've taken a new friend each time I go to introduce them to this place, and the hype continues to live on. I honestly need to put in the effort to make my own toum lol.

First-Timer's Delight at Z&Z Restaurant! What a great first experience with Middle Eastern bizza at Z&Z! The chicken bizza was incredibly flavorful, and the Za'atar bizza tasted fresh and healthy. The Za'atar had a bit too much yogurt for my liking (making it a little too sour), but it didn't detract from a really enjoyable meal. Highly recommend!

This place is small on the inside, but there's outdoor seating too.The Palestinian decor gives a vibe that is cozy.

About a 2-2.5: Z&Z is known for their delicious, made-to-order manoushes - however, I had tried their Karak Chai that was advertised on one of their trifolds outside. Unfortunately, this drink wasn't that great - it wasn't watered down and hardly had that good chai flavor; it was creamy, though, but I wished that it was steeped longer. I also did request this to be extra hot, but it was lukewarm, at best. Service is very friendly, and there's a small waiting area (just a couple of chairs); the place itself is cozy with a handful of tables for indoor dining, as well as some patio seating outside for al fresco dining. Plenty of parking in their small strip plaza lot. +avoid the chai! +stick with the manoushes! +friendly staff +plenty of parking in the small plaza lot

Wow this place is absolutely amazing! I can't remember the last time I had pizza this good! Just look at the pictures! Service was super friendly and quick too! Delicious coffee too! We will be back!

I love a local ethnic spot- the zata'ar is on point, but the flat breads are very limited in their variety. There are no options for someone watching their carb intake, and very few vegetarian options. I wish I could support this place more.

If you can handle middle eastern spices (not spicy, as in flavors) then you'll love the pizza. The shop is small so maybe plan to pick up and go. But the vibes in there are great! Everyone is having a good time and it reflects in the food. We got the classic and the Lebanese bride because we weren't sure what to expect. But we wished we had gotten some with meat on it. Definitely will be back to try more.

We finally came here last month for the first time and it was such a fun new experience! The staff is super helpful and friendly and worked with us to figure out what to order. We ended up with 3 because we have no chill. We got the hot honey, lahm be ajeen and the Mariam had a little lamb. Unexpectedly our favorite was the hot honey which was amazing! While it's a little small inside, we would definitely get takeout again!

This is one of my favorite spots in Maryland, hands down. The interior is so lovely and feels really homey. You can tell that this is a brick-and-mortar family business by their incredibly hospitality. You get to learn a lot about Palestinian culture by just observing the decor. Furthermore, the food is delicious and made to order. Everything tasted so vibrant and fresh. The dough game is on point---a perfectly chewy and crispy crust. Sometimes when you try good food, you can taste the love. This is one of those places! Can't wait to come back.

Coming into this small shop is definitely like walking into a family kitchen. Very lively and also extremely welcoming. The menu is very simple but the team is always happy to give recommendations. I ordered the lahm bi ajeen and the young man taking order recommended adding cheese and that recommendation was phenomenal. The chai is extremely flavorful and ridiculously hot so be cautious before trying to drink. The food also comes immediately out of the oven so try not to burn your mouth. This has been my second time here and it's leagues better than pizza. If you have time me and my wife highly recommend this hidden little gem.

Away from the well-traveled, restaurant-lined Rockville Pike is this wonderful find in a small shopping center. It's very simple and homey inside. Walk up to the counter and order. For here or to go? There's some seating indoors and a few tables outdoors. We decided to eat outside under the overcast sky that day. They kindly brought out the flatbread to our table. There were some tough choices to make on their menu, but the three of us shared the Hot Halaby Honey, Lahm Bi Ajeen, and Mariam Had a Little Lamb. The portion - each a personal flatbread - was enough food for us. We were also pleased with our picks! Very distinct flavors on each of them. These were the flatbreads with the heaviest toppings, but the simpler ones at the top of the menu look just as good. Since it was a bit cold outside, we also ordered hot drinks. I had the Karak Chai. Not too sweet and spiced.

Alright it's pretty good. It's a bit closer to traditional American style, I looked up some recipes for Manoushe beforehand and they generally fall between 50-57% hydration. I would say Manoushe is in that ballpark range. Crust: It is quite crunchy, akin to traditional American style pizza, I believe the pizzas we ordered had cornmeal as the base coating for the crust, you can see in the pics it had very nice leoparding across the board. The dough itself likely has a high percentage of oil, it was almost like a fried texture (akin to foccacia). Toppings: We got Toum Raider (toum and veggies), Hot Halaby Honey (sujuk, pepper, honey), Mariam Had A Little Lamb (yogurt, sausage arugula), and Classic Plus (Za'atar). They were delicious, with the halaby honey being close to what you'd get as an American style pepperoni pizza. The lamb was my favorite. These options might not be for everyone (they use a loooooooooooooooot of za'atar). Price: Very reasonable, ranging between $8 and $10 which is honestly half the price of most pizzas you get in the area. I prefer higher hydration however, and ultimately flat bread is not pizza so it's not entirely fair to compare the two kinds of carbs. Try it out!
