Ordered chicken tikka masala a la carte, lamb gosht a la carte, and rice. The chicken was a very good choice, I can see why this is a popular staple. The lamb gosht is also quite nice if you’re a fan of lamb. The rice was very fragrant and paired well with the curries. This meal was very great. We could not help wonder if the experience would have been better with in person dining. All orders are made online or via their QR code online. There is no in store seating, it's all pick up orders in to-go containers and paper plates. There is some seating outside and under a nearby tent but the experience is largely informal. Parking here is adequate, there are enough spaces to handle the lunch rush of customers.

Visited after 4-5 years and everything is changed. They used to have indoor seating with nice painted walls and now they just serve pickup orders. Food was okay and not like it used to be. Missing the experience to dine in. The chicken boti sizzler and shami kabab were good.

we enjoy ourselves every time we go. we also went once for a uygher screening and appreciated the owners willingness to host it (and we met her, she’s lovely!)

Visit: September 2024 Some of the best chicken tikka masala I've had. It had some rich, deep falvlues and in combination with the rest of the meal, felt filling and complete. It worked really well with the rice, and everything was at a good price. The place was really packed when I went, and the lineups and wait times were long (about 30 minutes ). It was a great experience still overall, but they had missed our garlic naan bread, which made me really sad because I wanted to have it with the tikka masala

Friend and I needed a quick and heavy lunch after a run around the Baylands the day after Christmas and went here. Had also been to Zareen's Palo Alto earlier. This one is takeout only. We had the sheermal which was big and delicious. I had the chicken curry thali and he had the grilled chicken thali. Serving size is pretty big, so we had some leftovers even though we were hungry from the run. There are some tables to eat outside but it was a bit chilly.

just ridiculous simply put. this is the third time i’ve tried the chicken sandwich and it’s just so balanced. i’ve seen a lot of places price gouge just to serve such mid food. this place is completely different, utmost respect to the owner and his integrity.

We got zareen's thali to go. I got the palak gosht thali with naan, and the palak gosht was very flavorful and not too oily. The naan was also lightly fluffy and good to enjoy alongside the curry.

Love this spot for a quick lunch bursting with flavor! Tried their crispy chicken sandwich for first time today & will definitely order again. We also love their wraps- esp. for a shoreline tailgate or picnic by the water. Don’t skip the chai! Warning! This is not a sit down place. There’s some outdoor seating, but definitely recommend you order ahead and takeout. It’s popular & busy!

This restaurant is close to the Google Mountain View office and Century CineMark theatre. There is limited seating available outside. I've been to this restaurant couple of times. My favorites are mango lassi, chicken boti, silver spoon paneer roll and punjabi burger. The lassi is very indulgent and rich with the right amount of sweetness. The paneer roll is nice too

It was my first time here. I was surprised that there is no indoor seating. Food is all packaged to go. You have options to sit outside. However, outdoor seating in the winter is too cold. No heater or cover is available to keep you warm. My friend and I ended up sitting outside bc of my dog. I got 2 meal dishes with garlic naan. The naan is not as garlicky as I thought it would be. My orders included lamb gosht thali and chicken tikka masala. They were good, but I saw a lot of oil and grease on the top layer of the curry. I enjoyed the food, but it's a bit heavy for my tummy. The portion was good for me, but my friend said that he didn't feel full after.

I have been to the Palo Alto location, but this was my first time at the Mountain View location. It turns out that this location is primarily a takeout spot post covid, but we had planned to eat outside anyway because my friend brought her dog. They have 6-7 tables outside - since it is a casual spot, they don't have heaters outside (which I don't think are usually necessary but it was super cold the one day we went lol) There is an iPad you can order from inside (which I think it slightly cheaper than ordering from the website). Even though it is primarily a takeout spot, they still have a water and utensils station. I got the chicken tikka masala with garlic naan and my friend got the lamb with garlic naan. We both thoroughly enjoyed our dishes and the portion was large enough where we both had leftovers. Yummy food and fair prices!

We ordered to go on the app. Pick up was ready on time. There is an area with twinkle lights, tables and chairs a few feet away that you can eat outside. The flavors of each dish were good. The lamb was a little greasy.

Zareen lives up to the hype. I've been going here for 7 years. They're continuously expanding! They've taken over the old Starbucks location, and has way more outdoor seating. This is one of the few spots open late on Cal Ave. Currently, you can sit indoors, take away or one of the spots outside (if it's not raining). First timers, you can order the mango lassi, chicken tikka masala, butter chicken and naan. These are all good options.

With its close proximity to 101, 85, a certain tech giant, and really damn good food, there's no wonder why Zareen's is such a South Bay/Peninsula staple. You can order through a number of delivery platforms, so getting your hands on this delicious food isn't too difficult either. While it is a mostly to-go restaurant (at least this location), they do have some outdoor dining available, which is great on a nice day, and the perfect stop before a Shoreline concert. The outdoor seating gets pretty packed, so either get their early, or prepare to pounce the moment someone gets up from their table. They have combos that are served with rice and salad, or you can order a la carte entrees. I've gotten a combo via delivery service for myself, but when dining with others the a la carte entrees are the way to go. On my most recent visit we ordered the Chicken Tikka Masala, Palak Paneer, and sides of rice and naan. This was plenty of food for two of us, and left us with a small amount of leftovers. Food was hearty and flavorful and had a little bit of heat, but nothing too intense. Would order all items again and look forward to going with more people sometime so that we can order and try even more from the menu!

Sooooooo delicious!! A couple friends and I dropped by for a late lunch; we ordered naan, rice, veggie samosas, palak paneer, chicken tikka masala, and mango lasi. It was all so yummy. The samosas were so flavorful and came with 2 sauces (tamarind and mint chutney). The chicken tikka masala was also so delicious, I personally liked it better than the palak paneer but my friends liked it more. The mango lasi was also so good, but one of my friends said it felt a little artificial. Service was quick and great, this spot is more of a takeout spot, but you can sit outside as we did and it was quite nice!

We got the Beef Chapli Kabab Sizzler, Madras Chicken Curry Thali and garlic naan at Zareen's on a Saturday night. Beef Chapli Kabab: When i ordered this, i envisioned a skewer kebab but was surprised with patty liked beef. It was seasoned well but it was a bit chewy. Madras Chicken Curry Thali: The star of the show! The curry was perfect! Bursting with rich spices and with a nice tolerable quick of spiciness. It was creamy and you could tell that the chicken was grilled. The lentils on the other hand were undercooked and could have used more flavor. The salad was mainly spinach and was mixed with this almost like sweet and sour sauce. Naan: We got a regular one and a few garlic ones. They were soft and they were pretty big. They have a special over just specialized for the naan so that's cool! Service/Ambiance: Ordered outside and got our food in about 10 minutes. It is a self serve restaurant. If you are looking for a warm cozy Indian spot, this is your place! (p.s took a few bites before taking pictures lol)

I haven't had Indian/Pakistani food in a while and wanted some for dinner. I came here one weekend and ordered the Sabri Beef Nihari, Grilled Chicken Boti Thali, Sheermal, Naan. The Sabri Beef Nihari - has a nice gravy sauce, with fresh chilies, beef shank was very tender and delicious. Not that much beef but a lot of sauce. This is also a Weekend special. Grilled Chicken Boti Thali - This includes daal, salad, tikka sauce, charcoal grilled pieces of chicken marinaded in herb spices. The chicken had really good flavor between the charcoal and the herb blend. Nice cooked onions on it. Daal, salad, tikka sauce and mint chutney were standard. Highly recommend. Sheermal - I haven't heard of this before, so wanted to try it. It felt like it a dessert. It's a flatbread made with milk and saffron, but a little bit sweet Naan - standard naan that went nicely with the sauces from what I ordered. There are multiple locations of Zareen's but this location in Mountain View does not have dine in, only take out. The other locations do have dine in. Food came out pretty quick after ordering and traveled well. I didn't realize this until after arriving at the restaurant. Also learned Zareen's is rated #1 on the Yelp 100 best places to eat in 2024. Sorry didn't take any photos

Located near Google HQ, parking is a bit difficult to find. There's no indoor seating, but they have a nice rented area outside that can seat medium sized groups of 4 or so. Chicken Tikka Masala Thali (4/5): portion size is good. The naan wasn't too oily and had good flavor. The tikka masala was so creamy and rich. The chicken was tender and soft. Tap to pay is accepted. Overall, Zareen's has some amazing Indian food. Not much to say about service but do check your phone as they let you know when your order is ready via text.

I can confidently say that Zareen's has the best Indian food in the U.S. Having tried numerous Indian restaurants across the country, the food here consistently stands out as rich, flavorful, and simply incredible. I keep coming back for more! The service is top-notch, with staff always welcoming and attentive. On my first visit, I was unfamiliar with Indian cuisine, and they recommended the rich and flavorful Boti dish, which was a perfect choice. The ambiance is just as delightful--clean, with lively Indian music and vibrant, colorful wall designs that set the perfect mood for enjoying the delicious food. Every experience at Zareen's has been nothing short of amazing.

there's a reason why Zareens is popular- it is delicious!! I highly recommend the Sheermal and chicken tikka masala. The mango lassi is also delicious! FYI as of january 2024, they are doing some major construction on their mountain view location so the seating is almost all outdoors, but they have heating lamps!

You order your food first and they bring it to your table - mango lassi was refreshing and creamy, although a bit too sweet to me - food overall was pretty solid! spicier than other places I've been but overall good flavors. chicken was tender and naan was soft - decently crowded on a random afternoon but overall good time!

I stop by this place if I go for a long walk at the shoreline park. It only has take out option so plan ahead where you'll consume the food. Portion is good and they have nice plates to set asides all the side dishes that come with the main. Service is more like fast food. I'd recommend you to check out for a good Indian to go.

Really good and authentic Indian food! The spice levels were toned down a bit though, as an Indian I'd have loved it to be a bit more spicy.

This place is really good. Had a great experience at their other location so I tried this one today. My only issue is I ordered chicken Tikka masala, and a side of Madras curry sauce since I saw that option on door dash, and they tasted exactly the same. Reviews say they taste similar w different spices, but the only difference I tasted was without the smokiness of the chicken in the Madras so either I can't tell different curries apart or they gave me the wrong order. Interestingly, this location doesn't have the same selection of bread or at least in the menu today. Only plain naan, no garlic and no jalapeno cheese naan. Still fluffy. The paratha was a bit stiff, would stick with the naan for the price. The chicken Tikka masala was super good, their chicken has that really nice cooked grilled taste to it. The lamb gosht was also good but I feel less generous in meat to the chicken. Really solid place to go.

We picked up an order to go. Their Chicken Tikka is one of the best I've had. It felt like they actually used grilled chicken and cooked it in the gravy. The palak paneer I thought was fine but lacked a bit of flavor. The lamb gosht was pretty solid.

Zareen's is a chain in the bay that was decently hyped up for me, so I was quite excited to try it out. This location is to-go only with a couple tables / picnic benches outside and ordering is done on an iPad. I went for a late lunch on a Saturday around 1PM and the inside of the store was packed with people. The wait for food can get rather long and my impression overall was that this can be a 4 or 5 star experience depending on what you order. Chicken Tikka Masala (4.25/5): A delicious rendition of chicken tikka masala. The chicken actually has a char flavor and the curry is super creamy, just all around solid. Crispy Chicken Tikka Sandwich (4.5/5): This was surprisingly incredible. The chicken itself is spiced super fragrantly and it doesn't get lost in the sandwich at all. Although the chicken could have been a little more tender, the chutney was also a perfectly light addition to the dish. Additionally, the masala fries are super dusted, just the way you want them to be. Sabri Beef Nihari (3.75/5): The beef shank was very tender, which was impressive and it was very savory, but not spicy at all. My main issue was that I had trouble eating more than a couple bites considering how ridiculously oily it was.

Disclaimer: I absolutely love Zareens Palo Alto so this is going to be a slightly biased review based on my prior experience. Zareens Mountain View is basically a to-go place with nothing much to talk about ambience. There is some informal outdoor seating but you basically get to eat in your to-go container. Probably the Desi in me still loves the steel plates and the serving style at the Palo Alto location. But food is still finger licking awesome! Tried the Crispy Chicken Tikka burger and it was an absolute delight! Must order item in the menu. Chicken samosas were spicy and definitely worth trying! Overall zero ambience & service but amazing food! Still highly recommended!

First time visit to Zareen's. I picked up an order for my wife - the Crispy Zinger Chicken Burger with fries, and dropped it off to her work. She texted me that it was really yummy! So, Being a bit hungry myself I returned and ordered the Punjabi Chicken Burger with fries. If you like Indian food and if you like chicken sandwiches, combine the flavors with a chicken burger and you get a whole new taste that is inventive and tasty! But what I can't believe is that after pickup, I got stuck in traffic, and took me a half hour to get home. Disappointed that my fries probably got cold and soggy, I was shocked to find that, though cold, the fries still had that crispiness, unlike those of popular fast food places. How they achieved this, I do not know, but Mickey D's could take some notes here! The pickup was quick and the staff were courteous. The startled gentleman looked at me and gave me a grin on my second pickup. I look forward to going again to try some other things!

We ordered ala carte for 6, chicken boti had large portions that was crowd pleaser, chicken tikka was sweet and creamy, beef curry (?) was very flavorful, and the dahl had amazing flavor! It was not spicy which worked out as our kids even the kids loved it. We licked up all the sauces, and had to take naps but found ourselves wondering when we could return for more.

I Highly recommend this place. Try it out. Plenty of food options for everyone. Try it out.

A solid place to try for lunch or dinner anytime!! We are hooked on Zareen's and have loved their menu items we have tried so far. My husband absolutely loves their fried chicken sandwich!! Too bad they don't sell it at all their locations!! Not sure why?! I enjoy the Sabri beef Nihari, it is always stewed to perfection, soft beef with amazing complex and tasty flavor. We have tried their chicken tikka and lamb gosht as well and everything is always tasty. The basmati rice flavor is great with long grain rice. We probably try them once a month minimum and every location has been great so far. But Please serve the fried chicken sand ice at all locations

There is no indoor seating. Only few outdoor tables under a tree. So even though good is 4/5, you will be eating out of Styrofoam boxes with plastic spoons out on the bench. So not an ideal experience. The service might be a little slow during rush hour due to a long line.

Love their food so much. The price is reasonable even all other restaurants are skyrocketing. Portion is very generous. Their food is packed with flavor (not sweet like other indian restaurants in the bay). Side note: if you are going to feed these to kids, be aware that all of their dishes are somewhat spicy. I wouldnt say too spicy but Little kids might not be able to tolerate.. had the burger and chicken tika and its always scrumptious and heart warming. Service: fast and friendly Ambiance: not much dining space. Great for togos or a quick bite. Not a dine in kind of place. But hey if you want good food for less what do you expect

I had high expectations for Zareen's, having heard nothing but enthusiastic praise for it. We chose the Mountain View location thinking they were all the same, but were surprised to find a hole in the wall with no indoor seating at all. The interior only had a pick up counter and convenient little kiosk for ordering. They did have a small outdoor seating area by the sushi restaurant next door, but honestly it wasn't very cute. It was just a few picnic tables in the dirt, so the ambiance was unfortunately lacking. That being said, I did enjoy the food! I got the Chicken Tikka Masala Ala Carte, and it was very solid - flavorful tomato-cream curry and well cooked chicken. I also really appreciated this dish being gluten free, which it often isn't! The portion size was very reasonable and left me full but not uncomfortably stuffed. My friends all enjoyed their food as well, including the Paneer Tikka Masala Ala Carte. Would definitely return to try more dishes, but preferably at a different location!

Have been going to this amazing restaurant for many years. The burgers are amazing. Lamb curry is a super hit. The portions are generous. The pace can get crowded at times, but the outdoor seating is pretty cool!

I love the food here. I always enjoy the sides that are included. I do wish to have the salad in to go meals but if you order in I think it's included. Overall the food is very tasty and it's usually very busy and crowded at both locations.

This has been on my list of restaurants to try for a while, and I finally got to try it recently! It's now one of my favorite places in South Bay. : ) The Mountain View location is a casual, takeout restaurant without indoor seating. Though there is plenty of seating outdoors shared with restaurants next door. Everything came out in takeout containers. It makes sense because this location is catered more towards working professionals nearby, making it an easy, convenient lunch option. We ordered the Lamb Gosht Thali (it has a kick but not incredibly spicy) and the Palak Methi Aloo Thali. Both were delicious. Please note: this location does NOT have the HALWA PURI. It's available at the Palo Alto and Redwood City locations on weekends for brunch.

My go to South Asian fast food joint. Some must try items are the tandoori, palak gosht, paratha. Love their "meal" style dishes.

This is one of my favorite fast casual restaurants in the Bay Area. Not only is this Indian food amazing, but somehow it manages to be well priced, authentic, and have quick service. You really can't go wrong here, but I recommend getting a Combo Thalis - that way you get a little bit of everything. Of course the Tikka Masala is a must-get, but I also really love the Lamb Gosht Thali. The mango lassis are very fun if you're feeling a sweet drink on the side. Don't forget to order a side of naan. My favorite is the garlic naan, but tandoori naan is an authentic, less fluffy bread that's also good. Great place for grabbing a quick lunch with colleagues, or going out for a more casual date night. A Bay Area must-eat!

Gave Zareen's another try and it was much better than the first time. I guess just ordered the wrong things last time. Aloo Tikki - Potato Cutlet: This reminded me of a potato pancake, small little circles that come with a mint chutney sauce and red onions. These were the least favorite of all the dishes. Chicken Tikka Masala - A la carte: This was pretty good, not too watery and had some substance with great spices but few pieces of chicken did have bone in. Naan: They only have plain naan and no other options for naan but it is nice and fluffy/doughey. Crispy Chicken Tikka Sandwhich: A huge piece of fried chicken with awesome spices. The chicken was huge and overflowing from the bun. Nice and crispy with a light batter on the outside. -No indoor seating as mainly a take out operation. -They do have few tables outside. -Small parking lot

Came with a group of friends, was my first time here. Very busy restaurant-you order, they give you a number, you find a seat, they bring it out to you. My friend recommended the chicken tikka masala, and the waitress recommended getting the combo set, which comes with leafy greens salad, some sort of lentil dip, and pickled salad. The tikka masala was very creamy and rich, which paired very well with the naan. The other sides balanced out the richness and provided a variety of flavors that left me feeling satisfied and refreshed. Would recommend getting the combo set to avoid experiencing flavor fatigue!

Decided to try out Zareen's for lunch on a weekend afternoon, and the first thing I noticed was that all the tables were absolutely packed (no joke)! After trying it out, I conclude that the hype is very well deserved!! A friend gave some recs, and I decided to order the Chicken Tikka Masala Thali. Highlight of the dish was definitely the chicken curry, which was so flavorful and delicious! Chicken was tender, juicy, and incredibly tasty with the curry sauce. The lentils also paired really well with the rice, while the other veggies provided a refreshing touch to the meal. Overall, I really enjoyed the food and will be introducing this restaurant to my friends. Definitely planning on returning soon!

Legendary recommendation from my co-worker and for good reason -- this food is great! The gola kabab is delicious and is a no-brainer to combine with the delicious naan or sheermal. Even when ordering delivery, the meat was hot, juicy, and the onions were very tender on the side. Additionally, the masala fries were pretty good to have on the side. Time from order, to prep, to ready for pickup was very fast. I totally understand the high praise for the flavours this place produces!

As many others note, this spot is take-out only, but hot damn is this food seriously good. They tout their Michelin rating for their main restaurant, but the reputation is well deserved. Ordering online and pickup was a painless process, and the food was spot on for texture and flavor. My brother and I was were just blown away. He also needed to get boba tea after cause it was also seriously spicy too, but in his eyes it was worth either way. Parking wasn't a problem as they have a dedicated lot. Even from opening there was plenty of traffic from people picking stuff up from them, so I can see it getting busy. Seating is outdoor only (self-serve), but they have a good amount of it as it's the small tables on the row and then a bit more out closer to the street next to the sushi joint, so there's a good amount of room if you want to eat on-site. ==Lamb Gosht Thali [5/5]== Very nicely balanced combo meal that comes with a bit of everything and a nice serving of their lamb stew. I opted for the naan and it was quite delicious, albeit different in style than most other spots I've tried (denser in feel, much more moist and buttery). The thali came with a chickpea salad, a lentil daal, mint chutney, which all complemented the meal very well and all quite fresh. The lamb stew was lovingly tender and very flavorful (not to mention spicy); noting it is a bit stronger on cinnamon notes, but that might've just been cause I got a piece of bark in my scoop. Portion-wise this was just right to give a nice spread of flavors, but not overwhelm you in any particular way. ==Beef Chapli Burger + fries [5/5]== Get the fries side and you won't regret it. Comes with a little chutney mix. I was a bit skeptical about an Indian-style burger, but even if it's quite far from a traditional burger it is still absolutely delicious. Wonderfully spiced and served as a traditional burger would be in terms of toppings. It's not the kind of spot you'd get if you want to taste just pure beefiness, but more of a strongly seasoned beef meatball type deal (with lettuce and onions). The cheese added a nice layer umami to it on top and would definitely recommend it. The fries are worth mentioning just by themselves; absolutely perfect fry in terms of crisp and aroma, then throw on top a lovely south-asian spice mix. Masala fries indeed. My takeway from this experience is that I need to try more of their food! Definitely will need to give their full service locations a try next time I'm further up the bay.

Really easy to order. They let you know the ingredients in each dish. This location doesn't have indoor seating. They have carry out and outdoor seating. I went with a friend and we each liked our dishes!

We ordered to-go through their website: 1 chicken tikka masala thali plate and 1 chicken madras curry thali with naan instead of rice , and 1 cup of chai! All of the food was soooo delicious!! I've been wanting to try this spot for a while as I've seen the raving reviews and also heard about great experiences from friends. Ordering through Zareen's website was super easy, and I was very impressed by all the different flavors included in the combo plate. The fresh cucumber/carrot salad cut through the rich, spiced curry perfectly. The naan was also great, so yummy dipped into the curry. The chai was hot, which even on a summer day paired with spicy curry, I really enjoyed. Nice, creamy and smooth, and I can't believe it's only $1! Would love to try more of their dishes, honestly great value for great food.

Some important things to note about this location of Zareen's: It's takeout style so all your food comes in Togo containers. You order on a kiosk so you can't really customize some things like spice level. The only human interaction you get it when they call your name to come get your food. There's also NO bathroom. I'm not sure how that's particularly legal but is a pretty big inconvenience. Also the few outdoor tables that are there (no indoor tables at all) tend to be really dirty. The food though is pretty good, definitely more on the sweeter side. Pretty decent portions for the thali/meal. We would definitely go to the other 2 Zareen's locations again, probably not this one.

- one of my favorite places to get good indian food, and at such a good price - this location is take out only, so make sure to order online before you head over to save some time - they have some outdoor seating if you want to eat there - chicken tikka masala (5/5): super flavorful and the chicken meat is always incredibly juicy!! pretty sure they use chicken thigh - madras chicken curry (4/5): similar but different spice blend compared to the tikka masala. also has some heat to it if you want something spicy - naan (5/5): they give you a fairly big portion and it's never dry - so good. - crispy chicken zinger burger: tried some of my friends and it was super crispy and very juicy. the fries were thick and crispy, and the chutney was also really good - bright and flavorful! - sheermal (4/5): crispy on the outside with dense thick layers on the inside. so good! - i normally get the thali and the daal lentil and the cucumber raita they give are really nice palate cleansers. the daal lentil is warm and hearty and the raita is bright and refreshing! the chopped pickled chickpea salad is alright - firnee (3/5): wish the rice wasn't as broken up as it was, and there was a slight skin since they prepackage them. also note it was pretty floral if you dont do well with those flavors

Stopped by after an afternoon golfing at Moffett field with the family. My family wanted burgers next door ( I wasn't in the mood ) so I opted for Indian take out here at Zareens. My first time at this location. I ordered the chicken Tikka, Dahl , basmati rice and a chai tea. The chair tea was perfect for the gloomy cold day we were hit with this week. I think I might have to do a daily pit stop just for the chai tea. I took my food home and it was enough to feed 4 of us. My family wanted my Indian food for dinner and there was plenty.

Not very happy with the seating situation - no indoor seating and only a few tables scattered outside. Felt like this location is converting into a to-go place , they also got rid of reusable cutlery . But food was amazing and service was really quick. Our group really liked the Silver spoon Kabab rolls and chicken Shami Kabab. Parking is a little tricky on Friday evenings.
