Zareen's is a vibrant Palo Alto gem serving contemporary spins on classic Indian and Pakistani fare, featuring speedy service and ample outdoor seating for a casual bite.
"This fast-casual Pakistani and Indian spot always often has a line, but it moves at a good clip, as engineers in hoodies and sneakers load up on kebabs and curries, served on metal plates with lots of exciting compartments." - Dianne de Guzman, Paolo Bicchieri, Becky Duffett
"The restaurant is raising money to deliver meals to those working at the Covid Screening Urgent Care at Santa Clara Valley Medical in San Jose. More information is available here." - team infatuation
"If you live in Palo Alto you probably already know Zareen’s. This iconic Indian and Pakistani place operates with lightning-fast efficiency and the food is excellent. Do we wish that we felt less pressure to vacate our table? Yes, but that doesn’t detract from the fact that the chicken tikka masala is buttery, the palak methi paneer is full of crispy cheese, and the lamb gosht falls apart with a stern glance. Grab a mango lassi while you wait for the (very) short amount of time it takes to get your food. Just make sure to order a side of the fluffy garlic naan. " - julia chen 1, ricky rodriguez

"Located in the hub of downtown Palo Alto, Zareen’s is a casual spot with eclectic, contemporary decor and a menu of classic Pakistani-Indian dishes. Though founder Zareen Khan first started her business with cooking classes and catered lunches, her restaurants now have locations up the Peninsula. Zareen’s is most notorious for its chicken tikka masala, speciality grilled items like the chicken boti sizzler and the beef chapli kabab sizzlers, and the chicken samosas, which are made from a family recipe. All entrees pair well with a side of hot-out-of-the-oven naan, which come in garlic, sesame and jalapeño-cheese renditions. The creamy mango lassi serves as a refreshing, sweet accompaniment." - Cathy Park
