"Zazas has built a Lakeview following with New York-style pizzas that fall into the new Neapolitan category with thin, chewy, and foldable crusts topped with ingredients like truffled mushrooms, Calabrian chili, and soppressata. The rotating menu includes a bacon ham pie (red onions, Calabrian chili, cotija cheese, Sichuan garlic oil, scallions), a white pie (garlic, olive oil, whipped ricotta, mozzarella, basil, sesame seed crust), and a truffle mushroom pie (shiitake mushrooms, rosemary, garlic truffle cream, goat cheese, sea salt). "One of the city’s best slice shops is a five-minute drive south of Wrigley. Zazas Pizza specializes in NY-style pies and they’re available both by the slice and whole. The crust is thin and chewy, glistens with olive oil, and is a wonderful vehicle for Zazas’ long list of toppings. You can order by the slice or pie, with options like a sweet and spicy bacon jam, or soppressata with hot honey. For the New York-style purists, there’s also a great pepperoni (with the cute little grease cups) and a white pie topped with fluffy dollops of ricotta. "New York specialist Zaza’s has soared in popularity in Lakeview. The no-flop rule has nothing to do with LeBron James. It refers to the pizzeria’s commitment to making a more contemporary New York slice — forget the oversized monstrosities customers would find at Sbarro and elsewhere.
