Best Ice Cream in Austin | Eater Austin

"While most ice cream shops are all about the base, this Portland-born, New Zealand-style soft serve shop in East Austin focuses on the toppings, blending real fruit into every swirl. Choose from options like strawberry, pineapple, and banana, and top your cone or cup with chamoy drizzle or toasted coconut. There is a vegan version of the vanilla base as well. The texture is smooth, the fruit flavors are bright, and the whole thing feels a little lighter than your usual soft serve. There’s a second location in Tarrytown, but it doesn’t serve any coffee drinks." - Darcie Duttweiler

The 13 Best Ice Cream Shops In Austin

"Zeds serves soft serve ice cream blended with fresh fruit to order, creating a dessert that’s a little easier to justify after eating a few too many tacos on the East Side. You start with a base, then choose from whatever fruits they have. It all gets blended together and topped with various drizzles and toppings. But if you want something more than vanilla and fruit, they also have rotating specials like a blackberry pie, complete with la lechera, graham crackers, and, of course, blackberries. Best Soft Serve Ice Cream in Austin | Eater Austin

"The Portland import makes its soft serve with actual fruit — ranging from peaches to dark cherries — plus vanilla (with a vegan option available). Then there are drizzles like chamoy and toppings like toasted coconuts. There are cups and waffle cones too. Takeout orders can be placed in person; there are outdoor dine-in areas." - Nadia Chaudhury

Zeds Real Fruit Ice Cream - Review - East Austin - Austin - The Infatuation

"Zeds is a Portland-based ice cream shop on East MLK, specializing in New Zealand-inspired blended-to-order soft serve. If that sounds confusing, all you need to know is that you start with a base (vanilla or a non-dairy option), then choose from whatever fruits they have. It all gets blended together and topped with various drizzles and toppings. The end result is something that at least helps you feel like you’re eating something semi-healthy. And if you want something more than vanilla+fruit flavors, they also have rotating specials, with combos like a strawberry paleta with chamoy and tajin. photo credit: Nicolai McCrary" - Nicolai McCrary

Google
We happened to drive by Zeds Real Fruit Ice Cream and noticed a long line out front—which usually means something good—so we decided to stop. Zeds offers a unique New Zealand-style ice cream experience where real fruit like strawberries or blueberries is blended into the ice cream on the spot. You can even watch the whole process through a window, which adds to the fun. We tried a few different combos, including some with coconut and cream cheese toppings—absolutely delicious and super refreshing after lunch. Prices are reasonable and the quality is great. The only downside is parking—it’s pretty rough. We had to park a couple blocks away and walk in. But if you’re in the area, it’s definitely worth the stop. Great treat, friendly vibe, and a unique twist on fruit ice cream!

Google
The ice cream at Zed's Real Fruit Ice Cream Store in Austin is good, but so good that lines form to pay $7.50 for a single medium scoop of okay ice cream? Maybe I'm an ice cream snob, but I've tasted better for much less, and not having to wait 20-30 minutes to get to the front of the line. Not being from Austin, I'm guessing that Zed's is just the next "flavor craze," and once people realize that $7.50 for a medium cup is a bit too much, the craze will subside. However, it has a phenomenal backstory for marketing. People are drawn to just about anything new or unique.

Google
You can get a really good experience if you eat ice cream here, especially the line makes it worth the hype. I got a strawberry flavored ice cream which was a little too sweet for my taste and it also seem like they mix real fruits in vanilla ice cream so that's quite interesting. There were some flies that are expected when sweets are around, but it does made me a little wanting to leave the restaurant and find more cleaner area to eat. Staff is amazing!

Google
Ridiculously delicious fruity ice cream! Ice cream mixed to perfection with fresh fruit and your choice of toppings. Bunuelo crunch was my fave! Lots of seating and a play area for kids. Always buzzing but there is nearby parking along streets

Google
Zed’s is one of my favorite places in Austin. The ice cream is amazingly creamy and I love that you can customize it to whatever you want! Cute outdoor seating area that now has a covered playground for the kiddos. My go-to is always strawberry vegan with toasted coconut and chocolate sauce - delicious!

Sandy

Google
WORST EXPERIENCE! Dont fall for instagram trap. First off they have Only ONE flavor as base that is vanilla that’s it. NO CHOCOLATE NO OTHER FLAVORS! Fruit is mixed in so what? Taste is mediocre. $8 for small cup .. waste of time and money

Julie P.

Google
Parking is crowded but it is so worth it. Great outdoor seating also with shaded children’s play area. Icecream is fruit based soft serve then choice of topping or drizzle….quality! Vegan options!

Google
We love Zed's and wanted to make our gender reveal special! We secretly wrote down the gender of our new bun in the oven and had this wonderful gentleman Max make us either the strawberry cheesecake for a girl or blackberry crumble for a boy! Happy to say, IT'S A BOY! The blackberry crumble was to die for! Thank you Zed's for making this moment special, we will be forever customers!

Yelp
Zeds is probably my favourite ice cream place here in Austin! They have a variety of flavours and blueberry and banana are def my to go one. The ice cream texture is really soft and I really enjoy it. They just built a nice sitting area near by so you can enjoy eating ice cream in a shade area. We usually come by during the day since the waiting line gets long around the evening time. Highly recommend it if you are in the area!

Yelp
THE BIG: Real fruit ice cream! Love how Zeds have that in their name. Located in East Austin, right off of airport and MLK. No indoor eating space, but plenty of outdoor seats. 5 parking spots and the rest is street parking. THE BLACK AND WHITE: We were feeling something sweet on a Friday evening and Zed's was literally on the way back home. I'm surprised we never ate here before. Regardless, it was delicious! Two windows, one to order, one to pick up. The second window you get to see them measure the fruit and use this specialized machine to mix the fruit with the ice cream. We got the blackberry on recommendation from the order taker and it HIT! THE FINAL BAMBOO: Overall a normal scoop of ice cream was around $8. Very delicious and I highly recommend coming for some visually appealing fruit ice cream.

Fun concept: frozen fresh fruit smashed into average ice cream with fun toppings Specials are creative and fun

Yelp
Heard the hype on this spot and had to check it out, finally! I'd give it a solid 4 out of 5 stars. It wasn't anything out of this world, but it was delicious! The ice cream is smooth and decadent. You can either make your own scoop, or order a special. I got chocolate, strawberry with sprinkles on a cone. It hit the spot! I would come back for sure, maybe on a hot sunny day! There is no parking, but parking spots on the street. And you order at the window and pick up. No indoor seating!
google avatar

Yelp
I loooove Zeds! I stopped by for the first time on a Friday evening before closing. There are limited parking spots in front, but a lot more street parking around. Zeds is know for blended vanilla ice cream blended with fresh fruit. I opted for blackberry with no toppings, such a good classic! There's also a burger and taco food truck near by if you're hungry. Plenty of seating all around. Zeds is a great summer time treat!

Yelp
This delicious fruit-based ice cream shop is a must try in Austin! There were a decent amount of people there for it being 8:30pm on a week night, but the line goes fast and they're very quick with making your order. No parking lot, but there is plenty of parking along the street. They have a nice large outdoor seating area with plenty of space and picnic tables.

Yelp
There are only a handful of places where you can find New Zealand style real fruit ice cream in the US. I'm originally from the PNW and Welly's in Port Angeles, WA is my high standard for comparison. I recently moved to Houston and was disappointed to discover there were absolutely zero New Zealand style ice cream options, so I specifically drove all the way out to Austin in hopes of satisfying my craving. Maybe this heightened my expectations in anticipation. I left extremely disappointed. The vanilla base ice cream they use just isn't it. When pressed through the machine it didn't have the proper texture of a soft serve as it was too thick and creamy. Also, the vanilla itself was overpowering the star of the show, the FRUIT. I didn't taste the fruit at all with their blueberry and blackberry options. I would've loved a sweet cream base option instead. There were lots of options to dress up the ice cream with sugary sweet toppings, but in my opinion true New Zealand style real fruit ice cream should emphasize the real fruit aspect. To each their own, but this wasn't for me.
google avatar

Krystyna L.

Yelp
Zed's is such a welcomed neighbor! The ice cream is top notch (and something a little different!) and both the staff and owners are friendly, hospitable and attentive! There is plenty of space to hangout -- they have just added a huge back patio that they are outfitting with food trucks, a stage for music, and hills for kiddos to roll around on. They also added excellent coffee to the menu this summer. The line can be long for ice cream in the evening but deffo worth the wait!
google avatar

Karla D.

Yelp
I really like the ice cream here. New Zealand style is one of my favorites. There is just something about the way the fruit is blended in with the ice cream to give natural flavoring. Such a laid back and relaxing spot. Even when they're super busy with lines that seem endless, fear not! The staff are so super efficient that it's actually kinda mind boggling.

Yelp
A soft serve ice cream place with a fun/local feel that I would definitely recommend to anyone on the East or close to downtown. Parking is a little tough since it is such a small place on the corner of a busy street but I was able to find street parking in the resident area. Walked about a half block. What I got: Razzy Raspberry w/ a Waffle Cone - First of all, I don't know why, but I did not expect the ice cream to be so soft. It had an absolutely immaculate mouth feel and the real fruit taste I felt really shined through with this particular flavor. The raspberry was very prevalent and upfront that coated every taste bud with a tangy, but not too rich taste. - BUT, I have to talk about the waffle cone. This was the freaking star of the show. Crunchy yet still slightly soft so that one bite didn't demolish the entire structure of the cone, the flavor of this thing was absolutely incredible. The best way I can describe it is cinnamon toast crunch cereal but with a more robust cinnamony flavor. Highly recommend getting the waffle cone. Overall: Definitely going to come back. This place seems really great for dates, friend groups, or just yourself with a sweet tooth. I'll be back!

Yelp
Love this spot! There's one plain base/flavor of soft serve that is blended with your fruit of choice and garnished with toppings! Could actually taste pieces of the fruit in the soft serve, was very smooth and high quality. Got the blackberry soft serve topped with chopped pecans and drizzled with honey. 4 stars mainly cause the soft serve was on the pricier side. Paid $8 for the regular size. Would like to try pineapple as the base next time!
google avatar

Amanda F.

Yelp
I stopped in for ice cream. I was happy since I knew I could get dairy free ice cream. I choose dairy free with blueberries and chopped pecans. Overall it was solid and hit the spot. It was not overly sweet and tasted similar to frozen yogurt IMO. Not much parking so can be a little limited when coming here during busy hours. They have places to sit with a water station
google avatar

Kayla P.

Yelp
It was really good, but at first it had strawberries in it and the worker tried to argue about it (clearly had strawberries though). It seems like they don't clean out the machines each time? The vibes are nice even though it was a bit crowded when I went.
google avatar

Ly N.

Yelp
I was here once before but tried it again to see if I would feel any different about it because everybody always raves about this spot. It was just like I remembered it last time - very standard and underwhelming. It's a build your own ice cream type situation but options are limited. There is one ice cream flavor with some fruit mix in, topping, and sauce options. The ice cream tasted like normal grocery store ice cream and doesn't carry a strong flavor when you add a fruit mix in. It's pricey for what it is too. I definitely prefer most other ice cream spots. There are a few designated store parking spots and sparse street parking nearby. There is only outdoor seating here and it's a magnet for flies because of all the ice cream.

Yelp
Ok, I have wanted to try this spot for a while because soft serve ice cream is my FAVORITE. First, the location is definitely out there in the heart of East Austin. It's on a corner lot and parking is VERY limited (but this is expected). The menu is straight forward and I was really pumped for the real fruit base. They were out of raspberry when we went but that was ok because I was set on a banana base and my husband went for the special #3. The service was prompt - they do make everything to order which is also nice. The sizes - now, here's where I struggle for stars - I KNOW everything especially fruit is expensive right now BUT a small with NO toppings starts at $5. The portion was certainly a decent size for someone but I still just think $5 is a lot for a small ice cream. The banana with toasted coconut was great! Solid banana flavor - it reminded me of a delicious banana pudding (I think next time I'd try it with caramel and graham cracker for a real banana pudding hack). My husband's was also tasty - it was hard to tell the fruit flavor with the topping, but if you just ate the soft serve the blackberry flavor was really good. Here's where I also had to dock another star - the two sitting areas had SO MANY FLIES. Like everywhere. I know it's outside and bugs are inevitable but this was an insane amount. Maybe changing the trash more or washing down the tables would help but this reallllly took away from the enjoyment. Overall, I struggle to find good soft serve in Austin. I really did enjoy the concept and flavor of this but I thought it was pricey and the flies were a total bummer.

Yelp
I never thought that I would say this but I think Zeds has dethroned my favorite ice cream place in town (Frozen Rolls). I've been here twice in the past few weeks and I can see myself going a dozen more times this summer. Zeds is amazing! Their ice cream is delicious but still very light and leaves me feeling refreshed versus heavy like most other ice creams. It is one of those Chipotle style places where you pick and choose what you want and thankfully they allow for my favorite combo, strawberries and oreos. I normally top that off with condensed milk and it is HEAVENLY Other things to note: - There is only outdoor seating so it gets pretty hot. Thankfully, they also have fans - There is a vegan food truck on the premises but I have not seen it open. I cant wait to try it! - The parking lot itself is a little small but tons of free street parking!
google avatar

Derek T.

Yelp
First time going to Zeds and I already can't wait to go back. Decided to stop here for a sweet treat one afternoon and it really raised the bar on ice cream. I've never had New Zealand style ice cream, but I don't think I can go back to regular ice cream now. The freshness of the fruit in the ice cream was delicious and I savored every bite. I don't think there's a flavor combination you can go wrong because it all looked good. There wasn't a whole lot of people on a Monday afternoon so the service was super fast. Doesn't look like there was any outdoor seating but a good bit of outdoor patio space on both sides. We were able to find a seat in the shade later in the day, but they had umbrellas and fans running for those hot evenings. Not a whole lot of parking lot space but looked like there was street parking down the street. Looking forward to trying that banana Oreo special
google avatar

Yelp
Zed's has been on my list of places to try foreeever, it's just not the most convenient location for me. I finally made it out on a warm Sunday afternoon just before 1pm and it was everything I had hoped for and more - sooo good! A few parking spaces are available directly in front, or you could park on the street. There's limited outdoor seating and you order at the window. I ordered a regular sized blackberry with coconut cream and rainbow sprinkles. So fresh and creamy and smooth - literally the best. Really enjoyed this and can't wait to revisit!
google avatar

Tiffany D.

Yelp
SO GOOD. The perfect non guilty sweet treat soft serve ice cream. I would go over and over and over again
google avatar

Brigid P.

Yelp
What a fun spot. The ice cream was light and refreshing and it's a very cute spot with nice outdoor seating that is shaded. I had the pineapple with coconut milk and toasted coconut. I will be back to try more flavors. Service was fast and friendly.
google avatar

Michelle Y.

Yelp
If you're looking for a creamy soft serve, Zed's is the spot. I highly recommend getting their strawberry ice cream. It's milky and packs enough flavor even without any toppings. I've also had their blueberry ice cream, and while just as creamy, falls a little short in comparison to the strawberry as you get more of the fruit taste from the strawberries. It's a cute little shop with a few picnic tables for seating, and the service is very quick once you make it to the front of the line. Would highly recommend.
google avatar

Taylor G.

Yelp
Zeds has a great atmosphere, lots of outdoor seating options, dog friendly, parking available via street parking or designated parking spots in front of the building. It is a unique spin on ice cream, everything is fruit flavored with a base, I got strawberry with a vanilla base, and then you can add toppings, I added some chocolate syrup! The waffle cones looked amazing but I opted for a small cup, it was a good amount of ice cream and so good! They also give ice cream pup cups to your dogs if you bring them!
google avatar

Bia S.

Yelp
I can't believe I didn't come here sooner, I am hooked. Once I started raving about Zed's to my friends they all agreed that it's the best ice cream in Austin! We come here at least a few times monthly to get this deliciously creamy and flavorful ice cream. I've tried many of the fresh fruit flavors and have to say banana is my all-time favorite. It's wonderful how the fruit is blended right when you order it and you can select either a vanilla soft serve or the dairy-free vanilla option. They have a pretty wide assortment of syrups and toppings you can pick from but honestly, the ice cream is so good it doesn't need the extra toppings. Also don't forget to order it with a waffle cone (we usually get a cup with a waffle cone on top to reduce the mess). The waffle cone is uber-sweet and fresh. We usually pop by after dinner and there's no line, with just a few tables taken. The staff is very friendly and they put together your order within minutes. There's a nicely sized outdoor seating area with some big picnic tables. It seems they are prepared for the summer months with table umbrellas and misting fans but we love coming here in the winter to enjoy the nice weather!

Yelp
The most delicious soft serve ice cream I have had in a long time!! You get to choose your fruit and toppings and is made to order. So refreshing on a hot day, and beyond delicious. I chose raspberry with rainbow sprinkles, but my niece got the best combo ever. She ordered pineapple with coconut, and it tasted like a pina colada!! So yummy. Staff is friendly and you can eat there at the outside tables. They also serve coffee and have happy hour with beer and wine. There is also a food truck as well. A must check out if you are in the area! I will be back!
google avatar

Carter C.

Yelp
I went here recently with my girlfriend for a sweet treat later at night. Zeds gives that old school Austin feel and backs it up with some delicious and refreshing real fruit ice cream. We both got the Pina Colada special which consists of pineapple ice cream with coconut cream and toasted coconut shavings on top. We are not even that big on coconuts but this was so good! Light and refreshing was the ice cream and nothing tops how tasty the toasted coconut shavings were on top. It satisfied both of our sweet cravings perfectly and did it with freshness and a unique combo that you wouldn't find everywhere. We were also able to enjoy this sweet treat on their patio which is very intimate and fun for hanging out and enjoying ice cream. Staff was very friendly and our orders came out relatively quickly. As far as price ours were somewhere around 9 dollars each for the larger size which I thought was pretty fair considering the quality of the product and size we received. Overall, very happy Zeds is around and open late to help us satisfy those sweet cravings while not making us feel too guilty!
google avatar

Karla F.

Yelp
What a fun way to eat ice cream! My husband and I tried Zeds for the first time and didn't know what to expect, but we loved the interactive experience it provided! The shop is a very cute, walk up stand with lots of fans and pet-friendly patio space! We have never had New Zealand style ice cream before, so we didn't come in having expectations, but the staff was friendly and helpful answering our questions. Overall, I think this spot is definitely worth a try for the experience, but it is a bit pricey and I don't know if my Americanized sweet tooth was fully satisfied.
google avatar

Karen L.

Yelp
The reviews do not lie, this ice cream is delicious! Been wanting to try it out for a while now and finally made it tonight. It was packed, so I wish they had more seats. I am a purist when it comes to ice cream, I don't love toppings or mix ins; however just adding blueberries made it soooooo good! My husband got strawberries with sprinkles. Gotta eat it fast cause it definitely melts in the heat quickly. Can't wait to come back and try more flavors!
google avatar

Hilary M.

Yelp
can't believe it's taken me so long to try this place it's so good! Kinda like a smoothie but ice cream consistency. I appreciated the real fruit flavors and not overly sweet icecream flavor I'm sure on a super hot day this would be even more refreshing. I can't wait to come back and try more flavor and combinations! It was a larger space then I expected, staff was 5/5 and parking is a breeze

Steve G.

Yelp
Yes. Just try it. I was very impressed with the fruit and ice cream. Cool area to sit and watch kids running around in a "kid park." Like a dog park for kids. Staff was very nice. Fair prices. I forgot to mention... parking is nonexistent.
google avatar

Brooke B.

Yelp
Such a great spot for ice cream! Cute ambiance and perfect for the summer. A little on the pricy side but you can definitely tell how fresh and natural their flavors are. You can't go wrong with the banana peanut butter or the raspberry!
google avatar

Loni M.

Yelp
I'm not sure how I'm just discovering Zeds but I'm glad I did! I've never had New Zealand style ice cream before Zeds so I have nothing to compare it to. I just know it's delicious! It's vanilla soft serve(with a dairy free option) and your choice of fruit blended with it giving you this fruit like soft serve. You can add various toppings and they have quite a bit. I personally like strawberry mixed in with oreos and chocolate syrup. I tried both the dairy free and dairy vanilla soft serve and I prefer the dairy. There's something slightly off with the dairy free but it's still good. The service is good but the line can get long especially after 5pm and you can wait in that line for a bit so be prepared. Lots of outdoor seating as well. Overall I will keep going back but probably not at peak hours.
google avatar

Abby H.

Yelp
Delicious ice cream. First time I went it wasn't my favorite but now I get the banana every time and I love it. They have fun specials too that are always yummh
google avatar

Catherine M.

Yelp
We were thrilled to learn there was New Zealand style ice cream in Austin! I had the blackberries with Oreos which was delicious! I also had a bite of the pina colada (pineapple with coconut) which was refreshing. There's two outdoor picnic benches on the side of the shop with pet friendly artificial grass. Unfortunately due to the hot summer heat, the pet smell was noticeable as we waited for our order.
google avatar

Alexis W.

Yelp
We were just driving by when we saw a line for this ice cream shop, so we made the spontaneous decision to give it a try! We weren't disappointed! Line went by quickly. Plenty of seating area. Delicious "New Zealand style" ice cream. We'll want to come back with more friends!
google avatar

Kim-Jamy N.

Yelp
Super rich and creamy ice cream! I loved the strawberry ice cream with the coconut glaze. A perfect treat on a hot summer day
google avatar

Minh D.

Yelp
Phenomenal ice cream.... I got the blackberry pie one with condensed milk drizzle & graham crackers. It tastes just as good as it sounds. Not too sweet, refreshing and smooth. I'm believe they blend frozen fruits with vanilla ice cream to turn everything into creamy final product. There's an option of choosing dairy free base as well. They only outdoor seating and is dog friendly. There are mist and huge fans to cool down in the summer. The line is long but moves fast on a Friday night, which I appreciate. Would def come back to try the other flavors :)
google avatar

Christina T.

Yelp
This place is supposed so cute and quaint and I love the choose your own soft serve route they've started and there's lots of fruit base options to choose from. We got the Special #1 - Banana Oreo (5/5) from their premade selection and it was so tasty. The banana flavor icecream with the peanut butter drizzle and oreo toppings gave off banana split vibes and was the perfect combo. The icecream came out pretty quickly and service was smooth and easy.
google avatar

Megan L.

Yelp
I can't believe I haven't reviewed Zeds yet despite me visiting over ten times. They have awesome ice cream that is really creamy and milky. I love getting it with strawberries or any other fruit with some cream or condensed milk drizzle. For some reason, I always crave ice cream when it's really cold out and the past few times I've been to Zeds were during very cold winter days. There's not a ton of seating, but it's never been an issue either because people usually eat it in their car or take it to go. Also keep in mind that during hot summer days, they don't have indoor seating. I wish it was an enclosed shop, but regardless, their ice cream is one of the best in the city.
google avatar

Alanna Y.

Yelp
I love this place, the spot is laid back and there's a few picnic tables in the back. I want to emphasize that your order is only as good as you personalize it to your taste! Taste is subjective so if you choose the right combo of flavors you should be fine! Both times I've gone I chose the right combo and was not disappointed. I will definitely return to try more combinations!
google avatar

Wendy R.

Yelp
I LOVE this place! I am a banana fan so seeing this flavor on the menu was exciting. I like the texture of their ice cream and how natural it feels. They also add a good portion for the price. Their whole place is a vibe as well! From their sign, to their patio, and branding colors. There's no inside A/C seating but they do have umbrella shades. The service is also great, all the staff I've talked and ordered from have been attentive and friendly. One of my favorite ice cream places in Austin!
google avatar

Elizabeth N.

Yelp
If you are wanting a sweet treat, this is the place to go! When we arrived we were asked if this was our first time, and it was, so the staff provided us with helpful information on what they do! He also made some great recommendations! The ice cream was so delicious and creamy with the right amount of fruit! I had strawberry with buñuelo and toasted coconut. They give you generous amount of toppings and it makes the perfect treat!!!! I regretted not getting the larger size!!! They also offer alcoholic drinks and there's nice outdoor space to hang out and enjoy!
google avatar

Yelp
This was yummy ice cream but it didn't really stand out to me. I got the strawberry ice cream with chocolate and it was yummy. I could tell it was fresh strawberries infused in the ice cream but I wouldn't go out of my way for this place. There's only a few parking spots near the place and then there's street parking nearby.

Yelp
This was hands-down the best bowl of ice cream I've ever had. Customer service from TJ was excellent too. Go check this place out next time you're in East Austin

Yelp
This is a wonderful little place. I thought they served something unique, but came to learn it is New Zealand style. Choose a soft serve flavor, a fruit, and toppings. You will receive your chosen fruit soft serve and toppings. The fruit other than flavor is indistinguishable. The service is window based, but friendly. No indoor seating all picnic tables with umbrellas. There is also a meatless food truck. In addition to ice cream they serve beer, wine, and coffee. We ordered the banana and Oreo 5/5 and blueberry with hot fudge 5/5.

Yelp
Ice cream: 3.5/5 Ok so honestly not what I was expecting. The fruit isn't in chunks and mixed in but essentially blended like a smoothie into the ice cream. I had the pineapple with coconut aka pina colada ice cream, yum!! My friend got blueberry with peanut butter which I tried. I think overall it's good, but the fruit flavor isn't super strong / as strong as I would like it to be. I'm not sure if they put any fruit juice so maybe that is why, but I would think of this as an ice cream smoothie. Ambiance: 4/5 It's a cute little place, but beware only outdoor seating! The picnic tables have umbrellas but just a heads up it's hot! Overall: 3/5 The small was $6 with one topping, not a terrible price but to be honest If I want something fruity I would prefer gelato from dolce neve. Not a bad place, but I think there is better in ATX.

Yelp
I wish they had more choices for the base but what they do here- they do perfectly! Tried their special BLACKBERRY PIE (BLACKBERRY, LA LECHERA, GRAHAM CRACKER) which was recommended by the cashier. Omg so good. It's just the balance of vanilla and blackberry) and condensed milk. The Graham Cracker is the perfect topping. My ONLY complaint is that this is melting so fast, and today wasn't even a hot day. Regardless, I devoured it. So good. My husband got the HONEY CRUNCH (BANANA + HONEY + BUNDELUS CRUNCH) which was also very good. The honey... wow. Friendly staff. Fairly fast service. Plenty of outdoor seating and water in the back.

Yelp
The line was super long but moved pretty quickly. The patio areas are so cute and welcoming. I ordered peach with vanilla ice cream base and ended up with strawberry with vanilla base, but I think it was divine intervention because the strawberry is SO GOOD. Do you think I can come back tomorrow?

Yelp
Zeds is now added to my favorite list of ice cream spots in Austin!! We came on a lightly rainy night, and it was nice to see the neon sign that says Zeds! We got the small cup with strawberry, regular vanilla base, and buñuelo crunch topping. IT WAS SO GOOD, we ordered another one! The strawberry was nice and light and went well with the topping. I loved the consistency of the ice cream! Will be back for sure! Plenty of seating outside.
