The Best Restaurants In Aruba - Aruba - The Infatuation

"The counter-service seafood spot in Savaneta, on the Southeastern side of the island, is everything you could want in a fish shack. There are dockside picnic tables with water views that would put even the priciest restaurants to shame, with fishing boats pulling up to sell their catch. And, true to the theme, the menu features whatever the fishermen have hauled into the adjacent pier that day—think whole-fried snapper, wahoo filets, and fried head-on shrimp—plus local Balashi beer, best enjoyed by the bucket. Although you’re here for the fresh-as-can-get fish, this place also serves knockout plantains and pan bati, a pancake-like cornbread that’s one of Aruba’s signature foods, and one Zeerovers does best." - jacqueline dole

"Zeerover A classic fish house in the sleepy village of Savaneta, Zeerover is all about fresh, Aruban-style seafood. Cooled by ocean breezes, the spot may feel like a bit of a dive to some, but its fish comes straight from the sea—in fact, you can watch from the restaurant's perch on the pier asfishermen pull in their catch. The menu reflects whatever the boats bring inthat day, often snapper, wahoo, or even barracuda, and includes savory sides like banana hasa (plantains), pan bati (corn bread pancakes), and funchi (fritters). Be sure to also try the shrimp; the peel-and-eat delicacies are always cooked to perfection. Note: The restaurant is closed on Mondays."

There is always a very long line, and the wait time is usually around 30 to 40 minutes before placing your order. However, it is absolutely worth it! You wait in line, place your order, and then the food is brought directly to your table. The service after ordering is quite efficient; the main delay is simply the line to order. Prices are very affordable, especially considering that the food is fresh seafood. The food is delicious, the place has a unique charm, and the overall experience is excellent. Highly recommended and definitely worth the wait 💯

I enjoyed the experience. You wait in line to choose fresh fish and shrimp, and the amount you pick is weighed on the spot. What you selected is then fried right away for you to eat. The positives are that the food is very fresh! The shrimp are huge and the price is VERY affordable. However, I felt that everything had the same flavour… fried, with a kind of chimichurri sauce on top, and the shrimp are not so cleaned (the vein is still there). I also didn’t like having to wait an hour in line, in the heat, just to choose my meal. I loved the fact that you eat with your hands, no fuss! There are several sinks to wash your hands afterward! It’s worth the experience.

Very cool place. Locals told us to try here and it was a good experience.. For the price you get a lot of seafood. Not a lot of options but what they do serve is fresh and good. Good drink prices too. We sat on the dock and enjoyed the evening. Would return here again and we could see why the locals like it.

Long line. Totally worth it. Simple menu: fish catch of the day and/or shrimp. Simple sides. All delicious. Tuna was overcooked but still so good. Great atmosphere, very fun for both children and adults.

Always good. Shrimp are amazing. Love the red snapper and grouper when they have it. Some of the other catch is not our favourite, but nothing like sitting and eating while they come in with the catch.

The best quality price on the island. I don't know what that seasoning is but these are the best shrimps of any kind anywhere. Great spot to mingle with locals. Friendly staff. A well oiled machine. Always worth the detour.

Easy to see the hype of the restaurant. Come early, wait in line, enjoy the food. One line for food, and another line in the back for bar drinks and pops it. We got half a kilo of shrimp, 2 pieces of fish, some fries and plantains and left with happy full bellies.

This place is definitely worth a visit . We enjoyed so much we went twice. I will be singing it's praises for all to visit. The menu is simple and that's fantastic. The fishes and shrimps are caught daily and preparation is simple and absolutely delicious. Everything we ate was a mouth watering experience. The hot sauce of the island was fantastic. This place is a must!
