The Best Restaurants In Aruba - Aruba - The Infatuation

"The counter-service seafood spot in Savaneta, on the Southeastern side of the island, is everything you could want in a fish shack. There are dockside picnic tables with water views that would put even the priciest restaurants to shame, with fishing boats pulling up to sell their catch. And, true to the theme, the menu features whatever the fishermen have hauled into the adjacent pier that day—think whole-fried snapper, wahoo filets, and fried head-on shrimp—plus local Balashi beer, best enjoyed by the bucket. Although you’re here for the fresh-as-can-get fish, this place also serves knockout plantains and pan bati, a pancake-like cornbread that’s one of Aruba’s signature foods, and one Zeerovers does best." - jacqueline dole

"Zeerover A classic fish house in the sleepy village of Savaneta, Zeerover is all about fresh, Aruban-style seafood. Cooled by ocean breezes, the spot may feel like a bit of a dive to some, but its fish comes straight from the sea—in fact, you can watch from the restaurant's perch on the pier asfishermen pull in their catch. The menu reflects whatever the boats bring inthat day, often snapper, wahoo, or even barracuda, and includes savory sides like banana hasa (plantains), pan bati (corn bread pancakes), and funchi (fritters). Be sure to also try the shrimp; the peel-and-eat delicacies are always cooked to perfection. Note: The restaurant is closed on Mondays."

Long line. Totally worth it. Simple menu: fish catch of the day and/or shrimp. Simple sides. All delicious. Tuna was overcooked but still so good. Great atmosphere, very fun for both children and adults.

I enjoyed the experience. You wait in line to choose fresh fish and shrimp, and the amount you pick is weighed on the spot. What you selected is then fried right away for you to eat. The positives are that the food is very fresh! The shrimp are huge and the price is VERY affordable. However, I felt that everything had the same flavour… fried, with a kind of chimichurri sauce on top, and the shrimp are not so cleaned (the vein is still there). I also didn’t like having to wait an hour in line, in the heat, just to choose my meal. I loved the fact that you eat with your hands, no fuss! There are several sinks to wash your hands afterward! It’s worth the experience.

Such a vibe eating here with friends and family and fresh catches from the ocean. We got loads of shrimp and 5 different types of fish , fries and plantains total was around $4 US dollars. What a steal with how much food is served. We went 4 times during our trip!

The catch of the day was SO good. It did take a while to stand in line to order my food. But once I was seated, it took maybe 10/15 minutes for my food to come out. I sat on the dock, on a picnic table. Super cute at night. You can feed the tarpon your shrimp remains which is an added bonus experience

Absolutely loved our experience at Zeerovers! The food is incredibly fresh — you literally taste the “catch of the day.” We ordered shrimp and fish by the pound and everything came out hot, crispy, and full of flavor. The sides were delicious too, especially the plantains and tartar sauce. The atmosphere is super casual and authentic — wooden tables, fishermen coming in and out, and beautiful views right on the water. It’s not fancy dining, but that’s exactly what makes it special. Prices are very reasonable for the quality and portion size. Expect a bit of a line, but it moves quickly and the food is worth the wait. If you’re looking for a true local Aruba experience with fresh seafood and a chill vibe, Zeerovers is a must-visit.

This place is definitely worth a visit . We enjoyed so much we went twice. I will be singing it's praises for all to visit. The menu is simple and that's fantastic. The fishes and shrimps are caught daily and preparation is simple and absolutely delicious. Everything we ate was a mouth watering experience. The hot sauce of the island was fantastic. This place is a must!

What a hidden gem! Very unique restaurant: you have to stand in line before you enter, order and pay your food, get your drinks and then get a table. Fish is different every day, they also have shrimp. Sides are fries, plantain, or cornbread- everything absolutely delicious! It's right next to the ocean, amazing view. A must when you visit Aruba!

Such a unique experience! You pick your seafood at the counter, they weigh it in front of you, and it’s all super fresh — straight from the fishermen’s catch of the day. The fried fish and shrimp were delicious, perfectly seasoned. The atmosphere is casual and right by the water, which makes it feel very local and authentic. Definitely a must-visit when in Aruba!
