Zeffer’s opens at the Sahara with Frosted Flake French toast and pastrami melts | Eater Vegas

"Located at the Sahara Las Vegas resort next to Uno Más Street Tacos + Spirits and overseen by executive chef Lyle Kaku, this new café serves breakfast through dinner with casual comfort food and a dedicated Chinese menu from 5–10 p.m. Breakfast options range from playful items like churro waffles and Frosted Flakes French toast to classics such as steak and eggs and chicken and waffles, plus specialties like a Dungeness crab omelet and chilaquiles tostadas. Sandwich highlights include a hot chicken sandwich, grilled cheese with tomato soup, and a pastrami melt, while lunch and dinner feature shrimp scampi, grilled salmon, steak frites, and chicken Alfredo alongside lighter Caprese and wedge salads. The evening Chinese offerings include Kung Pao chicken, egg noodle stir-fry, Mongolian beef, honey walnut prawns, and wonton noodle soup. The café is open 7 a.m.–10 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 7 a.m.–11 p.m. on Friday and Saturday." - Susan Stapleton

Zeffer’s café opens at the Sahara in July | Eater Vegas

"After executive chef Lyle Kaku took over culinary operations at the resort earlier this year, his new café debuts in late July as an “elevated casual dining experience” open daily from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. The daytime menu focuses on comfort-food classics for breakfast and lunch — including chicken and waffles, a Frosted Flakes–encrusted French toast with banana and Nutella, and a Dungeness crab omelet — while previewed entrées range from a prosciutto tartine to a Nashville-inspired hot chicken sandwich and a signature Angus beef burger topped with lettuce, tomato, and jalapeño‑bacon jam on a brioche bun. From 5 p.m. until closing the café expands into a full dinner menu that also features a collection of familiar Chinese dishes such as Kung Pao chicken, Mongolian beef, honey walnut prawns, and wonton noodle soup." - Bradley Martin

Had breakfast here after checking out of the Sahara. I ordered the breakfast skillet, which was not bad. The French toast especially was nice and fluffy. Service was good, we had an extra person joining and the waiter joined tables for us. The ambience is also clean, bright and airy. Ended up paying $190 for 7 pax after tax and tip.

Zeffers Café offers a cozy, modern setting that makes for a pleasant spot to grab breakfast or brunch. I recently stopped by and had a mixed experience—some highlights, but also a few things to consider before you go. I ordered the breakfast burrito, which was good. The flavors were nice, and it was clearly made with quality ingredients, but overall it didn’t blow me away. The portion size was enough for me, but I can see it feeling small to others, especially considering the $20 price tag. It’s definitely not a hearty plate if you’re showing up hungry. I also got a latte, and this was honestly the highlight of my meal. It was smooth, rich, and well-balanced—one of the better lattes I’ve had recently. That said, it was pretty small for the $7 price. If you’re used to getting a larger coffee to start your day, this one might leave you wanting more. The biggest drawback of my visit was the service speed. From being seated to placing the order, waiting for the food, and even getting the check—it all moved pretty slowly. It wasn’t that the staff were inattentive, just that the pace was really drawn out. So if you’re planning to go, make sure you’ve got some time to spare. This isn’t the place for a quick stop or a rushed breakfast before heading somewhere. All in all, Zeffers Café has a nice vibe and solid coffee, but for the price and wait time, it didn’t quite meet the expectations. Worth a visit if you’re not in a hurry and are looking to relax with a good cup of coffee.

First time at the café. We split the cinnamon crunch French toast (it was two splices but easily enough to share since the bread was very thick), and it was amazing! I would definitely eat this again, if not for the fact that I want to try other things on the menu! We also got a coffee and tea, which came with all the necessary accessories. The staff were pleasant as well.

If you’re in Las Vegas and don’t start your day at Zeffers Café inside the Sahara Casino, you’re doing Vegas wrong. We rolled in deep—a party of 8 hungry, slightly disheveled humans at 9AM on a Sunday, expecting the typical “you should’ve made a reservation” vibe. But no! We were seated in less than 10 minutes, which in Vegas time is basically instant teleportation. Now let’s talk about the French toast. Holy syrup-soaked heaven. I don’t know what kind of sorcery they’re doing back in that kitchen, but this French toast could bring a grown man to tears. Fluffy. Golden. Just the right amount of crispy edges. I briefly considered proposing to it, but my friends said that would be “weird.” The service? Impeccable. Our server moved like a caffeinated ninja—refilling coffee, cracking jokes, remembering all eight of our complicated orders without even writing them down. I wanted to adopt them by the end of the meal. Also, the cleanliness of the place? Spotless. Like, “you could do surgery on this table” levels of clean. And everyone working there was so friendly, I started to wonder if I had stumbled into a parallel universe where all humans are just… kind and efficient? Bottom line: If I could give Zeffers six stars, I would. Skip the blackjack table and bet it all on the French toast. Trust me.

We went to the Zeffer’s cafe in a very busy morning. Waited 20min to be seated and another 20ish to receive the food. Overall, I love the options that they have and the food tasted great! The turkey sandwich was served with whole grain bread and there’s a choice for either sweet potato or green salad, which is very considerate for a person trying to lose weight. Another great thing was that they have unsweetened soymilk for coffee, which was not common for many restaurants. I would definitely come back for breakfast. One thing that surprised me is that the simple brewed coffee costed me 7 dollar per person. Not sure if this is a usual price in Vagas but it’s a bit overpriced for me. The ambiance was quite nosy since it was a morning with so many guests. If you’re looking for a quiet area, I wouldn’t recommend it. Nonetheless, the service was amazing! The waitress for our table was very nice and considerate. Update in 2025, after a year back, they still maintained the quality and the taste. It’s just the fruit plate was not worth the price.

So good, I went twice. I wanted to get breakfast one day while staying at Sahara, and this place looked promising. Looking at the other reviews, I decided to try their French toast. It is so good, and by far the best French toast I ever had. You have to try it!! The service was amazing. The staff are super friendly and polite. Had an absolutely top notch service. I love the interior decor. It's not loud and very welcoming. I tried the fried chicken and waffles the second day. It's a perfect blend of sweet and savory. I love it, but French toast is still my favorite.

Had a great experience! I had the chicken tenders. They moist and delicious. The service was great and everyone was friendly. My son had the hash with waffles, my wife had the eggs Benedict. They both loved their dishes.
