From arrival to departure our stay was perfect ! Sadly we forgot the concierges name but she pleasantly walked us to our room when we got there. The hotel vibe is so fun. It’s old Asheville with modern finishes. Don’t sleep on the breakfast offering. The pastry assortment, fresh juice and coffee was amazing. Allison who was hosting breakfast was so accommodating and sweet with our children. The ham and cheese croissant was almost too good. Thank you for a fabulous experience all the way around.

My family just returned from an amazing four night stay at Zelda Dearest. We stayed in the Lenora Suite, which is the carriage house above the office. This worked perfectly as my husband and I were traveling with our toddler. We had plenty of room without feeling like our toddler was disturbing other guests. Everyone who worked there was so kind and accommodating. ||We loved the daily breakfast of fresh berries, patties, and overnight oats. We had amazing weather and were able to eat breakfast on the quaint patio. There was also a small fridge in the room, which was helpful for keeping milk and snacks for our toddler. ||The location was so convenient to downtown to Asheville, and we enjoyed being able to walk to restaurants.

My husband and I fell in love with Zelda Dearest the minute we walked in the door. Nestled on a quiet side street just blocks from Downtown Asheville, this gem of a hotel feels more like a home-away-from-home then a hotel. The unique and incredibly well appointed rooms are in a series of historic houses that have been meticulously renovated and updated. The artwork and furniture gives it a wonderful art deco vibe. The breakfast was perfect - with a variety of both healthy and yummy options each morning. The outdoor patio was a perfect place to sit and eat, lounge, work, or have a drink. It was a short walk to the hub of downtown, making Zelda Dearest the perfect launching pad for an Asheville visit. We can't recommend it highly enough and we will absolutely be back!

We chose to stay at Zelda Dearest for our wedding weekend and I couldn’t be happier with our decision. From the warm welcome and congratulations by the folks at the front desk to the beautiful and comfortable rooms, it was the perfect home base for a busy weekend. The location is also excellent, and we loved being able to walk to any number of restaurants, breweries, and shops. Zelda Dearest was a special place for a special weekend, and will always be a part of our memories of getting married. Thank you for making our stay so special!

This place is fabulous! From the moment we arrived (and we were very early, even!) we were treated like VIPs and taken care of throughout our stay. We can’t thank Jake enough for his helpfulness and hospitality. The property is beautiful and unique, with rooms spread across several old houses with common areas in between. Everything is thoughtfully arranged and beautifully designed and decorated. Our room was large and comfortable and our bathroom was gorgeous and ENORMOUS. It felt like a private spa. (And we are now hooked on Grown Alchemist body wash.) Every single member of staff was helpful and kind and we got lots of helpful tips. Breakfast was beyond what you usually get and they were even thoughtful enough to extend the hours due to the daylight savings change (which we had completely forgotten about!). The location is absolutely perfect - you are steps from downtown but just out-of-the-way enough that it is quiet and the sidewalks aren't mobbed. (It's also just a few short blocks from Good Hot Fish!) We had rented a car but actually got rid of it once we checked in. West Asheville and RAD were a quick car ride and Lyfts were plentiful and inexpensive. We will definitely be staying here when we return to Asheville, and will hopefully bring friends next time!

From the moment we arrived, this was an extra special stay. The staff, including Garyth and Jake, were warm and accommodating. The charming and art deco inspired decor was beautiful, clean, and comfortable. You expected to see Zelda and friends at any time! We walked to the art galleries and downtown shopping. Parking was onsite and reasonable. The included breakfast was delicious and plenty. While it was chilly when we were there, there is a wonderful outdoor patio and fire table area to gather in. We will absolutely return to Zelda Dearest on our next trip to Asheville!

We stayed in the Rosebud junior suite and it was fantastic. Bedding was so comfy, perfect quaint and quiet setup for us. Staff was attentive and friendly/helpful. Definitely will be coming back to this spot, way better than a hotel experience.

This charming hotel is perfectly located! During our stay my partner and I were able to walk to a bunch of local breweries and also see downtown Asheville without having to drive. (It is also a short drive to the River Arts District.) The staff here are so nice and give good recommendations for area restaurants and sights. I also really enjoyed the breakfast options like mini quiches, overnight oats, and yogurt (especially the dairy-free siggi’s!)

Yelp
Zelda Dearest is a masterpiece of design - every inch is visually stunning. From paint-drenched ceilings to pink quartz bathroom accessories, vibrant yet timeless wallpapers, and remarkable light fixtures, everything was completed with intention. Intention is a theme with the staff as well - their care for the property and its guests is obvious! We were personally walked to our room where we discovered an anniversary gift accompanied by a handwritten note. Zelda Dearest is cozy, charming, romantic, and perfect. Each room offers a unique, unrepeatable design and layout, showcasing its own brand of luxury that remains approachable and welcoming. The Mystic Light Junior Suite is incredibly spacious and features a generously sized restroom. I couldn't be more excited to have my next stay already planned! The hotel's location is unbeatable - at Zelda Dearest, you are surrounded by live music, fantastic food, drinks, coffee, and shopping. Despite the exciting nearby surroundings, the hotel creates a world all its own.

Yelp
ZD had been open for four days when I was in town, and even though there were still some kinks to be ironed out (like not-yet-delivered posts for the signs that would make clear which rooms were in which buildings! : p), my stay was fabulous. The staff is experienced in working boutique hotels and went graciously above and beyond. (If you need accommodations, contact them, they are easy to talk with.) I stayed in the Verbena King, which felt lux & spacious with high ceilings, walk-in shower, and impeccable decor. Amenities include coffee, breakfast, hair dryer, toiletries, fluffy robes, some free streaming on the tv--all the nice stuff. (Also, if you're a tea-drinker like me, there's an electric kettle instead of a coffee-maker, so bring your own tea & it will NOT taste of stale grounds--yay!) The "sitting area," fyi, is a chair & reading lamp. A huge plus is location: ZD is 10-min (on foot) south of downtown Asheville, so you're out of the heaviest traffic/construction/crowds but still close enough to walk everywhere. Free parking on site. I would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend to singles/couples/business travelers.

Yelp
We stayed at Zelda Dearest with our daughter while doing a college visit tour. The highlight of our trip! We stayed in a suite in Rosalie on the top floor. It was quiet, cool, the beds are so comfortable and the bathroom was spectacular! Drinks at the bar the night before were great, and we had the largest pizza we have ever seen from a place a couple of minutes walk away on the terrace for dinner. Breakfast was delicious. What a wonderful place - don't pass it up!

Yelp
First time in Asheville and first time staying here. What an amazing experience!! From the super nice staff to the decor and spacious rooms, everything was spectacular we did not want to leave our rooms! Convenient to all downtown attractions. So glad we chose Zelda Dearest instead of the big chain hotels. Highly recommend 10xxx

Yelp
Our stay at Zelda Dearest was nothing short of spectacular. This boutique hotel is replete with all the luxury amenities one could want, yet every detail seems uniquely curated for each guest. Before we even arrived the front desk staff reached out with easy check-in and parking instructions via text, a hotel guide and offered to answer any questions about our stay. Upon arrival we were greeted warmly by a kind and courteous front desk staff person who gave us a lay of the land, escorted us to our room in the exquisite Matilde House. Upon entering the house I was struck by the gorgeous artwork adorning the walls on the staircase up to our room. Entering our room was like stepping into a chapter of Zelda's life, or a mix of the many eras, an art deco, modern, south of France feel with a Key West twist. From details as small as dresser knobs to black white striped tile, every inch added to the enchantment. The bed was cozy with luxury linens and our room featured a lovely deep tub room with palm frond wallpaper along with cozy robes. After walking to a delicious dinner close by at the underrated Rhum Bar and sleeping cozily for the night, we enjoyed a delicious breakfast of decadent pastries, overnight oats, rich coffee and quiche at the Wine and Roses bar and dining area. If you are looking for something unique, atmospheric, intoxicating and romantic, Zelda Dearest is more than a hotel stay, but rather a destination, experience, romance of luxury to behold.
