Yelp
ZD had been open for four days when I was in town, and even though there were still some kinks to be ironed out (like not-yet-delivered posts for the signs that would make clear which rooms were in which buildings! : p), my stay was fabulous. The staff is experienced in working boutique hotels and went graciously above and beyond. (If you need accommodations, contact them, they are easy to talk with.) I stayed in the Verbena King, which felt lux & spacious with high ceilings, walk-in shower, and impeccable decor. Amenities include coffee, breakfast, hair dryer, toiletries, fluffy robes, some free streaming on the tv--all the nice stuff. (Also, if you're a tea-drinker like me, there's an electric kettle instead of a coffee-maker, so bring your own tea & it will NOT taste of stale grounds--yay!) The "sitting area," fyi, is a chair & reading lamp.
A huge plus is location: ZD is 10-min (on foot) south of downtown Asheville, so you're out of the heaviest traffic/construction/crowds but still close enough to walk everywhere. Free parking on site. I would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend to singles/couples/business travelers.
