Zero Lounge - Review - Hollywood - Los Angeles - The Infatuation

"Zero Lounge is a Furby-infested acid trip. Maybe the sound of that scares you, or maybe it speaks to your nostalgic soul that yearns for the era of Nokia flip phones. One thing’s for sure: the gut-punchingly sweet cocktails and Ke$ha remixes at this neon-it Y2K-themed bar will be the reason you woke up so hungover your saliva tastes like peach-flavored vodka. (Don’t ask us how we know.) This Hollywood spot is pure absurdity and absolutely not for everyone—the DJ booth is designed to look like a teenager’s bedroom, for one—but if its brand of tongue-in-check, low-rise jeans chaos even remotely interests you, there’s a fair chance you’ll have a fun night. Or at least one with plenty to talk about. photo credit: Sylvio Martins" - Sylvio Martins

Revel in Y2K Nostalgia at This New Themed Cocktail Lounge in Hollywood - Eater LA

"Gen X and late ’90s romanticists, your Y2K-themed cocktail lounge has arrived. Dubbed Zero Lounge, the immersive concept debuts on November 22 in the former Noir space on Hudson Avenue and Hollywood Boulevard, where everything Y2K is new again. They’ve set up the space to celebrate pop culture from the late 1990s and early 2000s with flip phones and a full cocktail menu. Though the name says Zero Lounge, this isn’t a zero-proof bar. Along with non-alcoholic drinks, there are boozy drinks like the Spice Girl Sour, Basil Patch Kid, or the Fresh Prince Fizz, mixing vodka, Blackberries, lime, agave, and soda water. The room is bright purple with neon colors, an old-school TV with a VCR, Britney Spears and The Matrix posters, and a vintage iBook laptop. All that’s missing is an ice-cold Zima. Founder Kevin De Nicolo opened the spot to provide an escape for those nostalgic of the era. “The Y2K aesthetic represents a carefree, fun-loving spirit. People want a reason to go out. We want to give them that escape.” Starting November 22, Zero Lounge will be open Wednesday to Sunday from 6 p.m. to 2 a.m." - Mona Holmes

Karaoke Sundays at Zero Lounge are a vibe. If you’re looking for a fun night out in Hollywood, this is it. The bar itself is stunning—modern, stylish, and totally photo-worthy. You can even get a picture of yourself printed in your drink (yes, really), which is such a cool touch and perfect for the gram. The bartenders are super friendly and the drinks are actually well-priced for LA, which is rare these days. Great selection too! Karaoke starts at 9 PM and goes all the way till 2 AM. Whether you’re a performer or just there for the chaos and cocktails, it’s such a fun scene- they have 4 mics and also auto tune and every song possible. Everyone’s cheering each other on, and the energy is so good. Perfect for a Sunday night out—Zero Lounge might just become your new go-to. 🎤🍸

We went to the Grand Opening and it was grand indeed. Really great DJ with a CRT head and blended a saxophone with great 2000's music. The drinks were all very good and for the opening they had a free shot promo!;

I attended a Gui Fieri look-alike contest at Zero Lounge and had an unforgettable night! This Y2K-themed spot in Hollywood is a true gem—whether you’re in the mood for dancing or just lounging, the vibe is a refreshingly unique wash of static and nostalgia. The venue is conveniently located near other Hollywood attractions, and has a secure, walkable parking lot just a block away. The staff really made the evening; the bar team was friendly, security was attentive, and the manager’s support of local DJs and performers was evident. There were even fun extras like an N64-controlled "easter egg" video game, and affordable pizza is just down the block. Rumor has it, even a celebrity or two might make an appearance! Dupe-Fieris still count right?! The Fieri-themed event was a blast (literal flames), and the creative energy in the room was contagious and made me want to check the year on my flip phone. If you’re seeking a unique, peak Y2K experience in Hollywood, Zero Lounge is a must-visit!

This place is such a gem! The inside is beautiful and the vibes are so fun!! They’re also constantly having themed nights here and they are incredible! Everyone on the staff always treats me and my friends so well! Huge shout out to Danny and Demitri behind the bar for always going above and beyond for us, and to Kevin who always makes sure we’re having a good time! He even gave us these cute butterfly clips and jelly bracelets. 10/10 recommend this place for some nostalgia, fun music and DJs, delicious cocktails, themed nights, and wonderful staff!

Yelp
Zero Lounge is an incredible hidden gem in Los Angeles that you don't want to pass up. The ambience is fun, relaxing, and the energy picks up and gets intense on the dancefloor without ever feeling overwhelming. I came to Zero Lounge and was immediately greeted by an incredibly charismatic doorman before I stepped in to an arcade retrostyle tunnel with neon lighting. The venue has amazing drinks themed with millenial taste, and very high quality ingredients. My friend Mark who doesn't drink ordered a grapefruit mocktails and we watched the woman squeeze the grapefruit and garnish it with dried fruits. It was so awesome. There are also tomagotchi and smuckers drinks that come with small PB&Js affixed, and the tip jar was for rugrats v hey arnold. Hey Arnold for life as a new yorker. The venue has seating where I connected and danced with new friends and was able to speak personally for HOURS. I was able to go outside in a smoking area with privacy, return and enter no cover, and I ended up staying all night dancing to many incredible artists who SHREDDED nineties hits. every time i got fatigued, Kesha or Natasha Bedingfield or HOOBASTANK came on, i HAD to get up for HOOBASTANK WHAT?!?!? my father kicked me out of the car when i was twelve for telling him HoobaSTINKS! THIS IS IMPORTANT HISTORICAL REVERENCE IN THIS BAR!! i never dance til one am. I was completely sober. There is true dedicated community here, blended with tourists and newcomers, and I can tell the staff are committed to its value. They were conscious and respectful the whole time and I made friends with them. Here are pictures. There are pokemon. You should go.

Yelp
Honestly, Zero Lounge was a total letdown. I feel like it was overhyped on social media, and I'm positive that they paid influencers to post about it because the reality was NOTHING like the hype. I bet you even the yelp reviews are fake. The place is tiny, and the only thing that even remotely screamed Y2K was the DJ booth. There's no dance floor, just a few random couches that don't even give off a vibe-- even the walls are bare with no posters We drove over an hour to get there, all dressed up and ready for a fun night. We were super excited, but after five minutes of realizing how cramped and lame the place was, we just bailed and ended up barhopping instead. It was honestly the most underwhelming experience ever. I feel completely catfished. Zero Lounge might look cool in Instagram photos, but in person? Total miss. The theme has so much potential, but this was completely not it.

Yelp
The vibes here are immaculate and the drinks are great! Friends and I came here for a good time and it didn't fail! Get the PB & J! It's so freaking good!

Yelp
Zero Lounge is a full-on Y2K time machine--neon, glitter, and all the early 2000s vibes you never knew you missed. The drinks? Total fire. Perfect spot to sip cocktails and vibe out to nostalgic jams.

Yelp
Zero lounge has such an amazing Y2K nostalgic vibe! The decor was spot on and incredibly detailed. They also had a super fun drink list and the customer service was great! Everyone was so kind and welcoming and I got to see an amazing local queer DJ - Microplastique. I can't wait to go back for more fun music and vibes

Yelp
I came to Hollywood for a long weekend to see my friends, and they were so excited for opening night at Zero Lounge. I thought it was going to be just another bar, but WOW, was I wrong!!! The atmosphere inside the bar is amazingly cool, just beautiful. The specialty drinks were so delicious, and very reasonably priced! we arrived early-ish, and left at around midnight, and there was a line to get in. I could go on and on about how cool this place is, but I think it's one of those places that if you don't know much about it, you'll be happily surprise. ...oh, during the evening we left for about 20 minutes to get a slice of pizza a half a block away on Hollywood Blvd (since Zero Lounge doesn't serve food) and then walked back to the bar after we ate, so convenient!!! Regardless if you live here or visiting from out of town, I strongly suggest that you go to Zero Lounge with some friends, just so different than anywhere else I've ever been to! ...and SO FUN!!!

Yelp
Went here 12/6 to celebrate my birthday and hang with friends. The bar tender, female with neck tats was the rudest bartender I have ever met. Not to mention drunk af behind the bar. My friend was wondering if they did birthday shots/drinks so he said to her "oh it's her birthday " and she goes "mine too." Then completely ignores us, cool - not everywhere does things like that, just usually don't get a side of attitude with their responses.. After that, my friend goes to order a drink, the lady with the neck tats then turns around and starts yelling at her saying "Why is your group ordering through my bar back? Really?? Wow. Wow. " then started to cuss at my friends. it was one person ordering from OUR GROUP and the other person who "ordered through her bar back" wasn't even there with us or apart of our group. Don't even know who she was. Other customers then started to talk to us and tell us she had been taking shots behind the bar and was being rude to everyone the whole night. Cool place, but not worth dealing with drunk, rude, nasty bar tender. Honestly, this business shouldn't keep someone like that if they want their customers to have a good time.. Another customer said something that the bartender was "going through a rough time at home". If that's the case, go home. Simple. Don't waste your time going as long as she's there.

Yelp
Awesome bar. Love the visuals, plenty of room to sit back and relax. Really fun DJ as well, and the bartenders are super friendly! I recommend ordering the PB&J and Fresh Prince Fizz.

Yelp
went with some of my friends and we got all the drinks, all of them were soooooo good. our groups favorite was the PB & J drink -- mine was the nokia nectar. the ambiance was super nice and cool and the service was amazing as well. can't wait to see what zero lounge does next year!

Robert B.

Yelp
Bartender with neck tattoos was very rude cussed and yelled at us because some random lady ordered though her bar back and she assumed she was with us so she took it out on us lol. We tried telling her we didn't know this girl and She replied with "I don't give a fuck" girl nobody gives a fuck about you or your bar back. Very awkward environment. Tiny bar

Yelp
a wise woman once said "if it's worth it let me work it" and zero lounge really put their thang down, flipped it, and reversed it. it's automatic, supersonic, hypnotic, funky fresh. baby cant you see zero lounge is calling.
