New Restaurant Openings NYC: April 2025 | Eater NY

"A new replacement for the short-lived Only Love Strangers bar on the Lower East Side, bringing hand-pulled noodles and soup-dumpling-focused service to the corner formerly occupied by the MáLà Project outpost." - Emma Orlow

Zhong Guo La Mian Xiao Long Bao - Review - Lower East Side - New York - The Infatuation

"On the Lower East Side, Zhong Guo La Mian Xiao Long Bao is in part of the old Only Love Strangers space. They’ve got a long menu full of lots of soup and other dumplings, as well as noodles and some soups. We haven’t been here yet, but want you to know this spot exists." - Will Hartman

There are two doorways, apparently, one side from one street will get you the dinner menu and the other street entrance will get you the dim sum-ish menu. The plates here are FOR SHARING. Aside from the dim sum dishes, every plate is large. I wanted soup dumplings but also a meat dish, but also vegetables. All were full sided portions. I came alone and had to take the rest to go. The food, if you like spicy, is delicious. Seasoned really well. Only thing, and they do this everywhere, is that there is a village of chili's on my plate. I can eat some but not the entire thing. Overall, I came during their slow time and the service was quick. I would come back if i'm in the area again.

Beautiful, tasty, and authentic with the best variety of soup dumplings. The ribs, truffle & pork soup dumplings and fresh pan fried porn buns were all amazing!

It was a nice experience! The waiters are very attentive and engaging. The prices were worth it for the quality and amount of food you are getting. The place has only been around for a few weeks and is a nice find!

Best Chinese food I have lately. Xiao long Bao was made on spot, no hole or broken, very tasty. We also had fish flavored eggplant, very good well. If you are looking for Chinese food, this is an excellent choice.

Came to try their crab 🦀 & pork 🥩 soup dumplings. Ordered 1 crab & pork, 1 truffle and 1 gourd soup dumplings. Disappointing. Meat was rather sweet, I don't think there was any actual crab meat, or truffle, the tops of the dumplings were quite thick & a few ripped open at the bottom causing the soup to spill as you picked them up. Meh!

Some of the best soup dumplings I've had in the city! Went back 2 days in a row because we needed more. Everyone here is incredibly kind as well! Highly recommend

I was enjoying myself, until their kitchen sent out rice Siu Mai however, it had meat in it. I wasn’t aware of it and I haven’t eaten meat in many years. The kitchen mixed up an order and gave me the wrong one. My stomach is already starting to feel tight. Unfortunately my stomach acid has issues processing meat. My body rejected the meat and threw up in the bathroom.
