ZioZio Vino e Brasati - Review - Brera - Milan - The Infatuation

"Don’t be fooled by the compostable plates at ZioZio—dishes stream out of the tiny kitchen, each more precise than the last. Dumplings are made off-site in collaboration with Mu Dimsum, but everything else is cooked fresh to order: crisp yet delicate fried enoki, spicy tender tripe, and silky tofu skin that demands a second round. One co-owner, a second-generation Chinese sommelier who once worked at Chinatown’s beloved Cantine Isola, curates a wine list that changes every two weeks. And their dog Nano, is often moving between the small handful of tables." - Elizabeth De Filippo-Jones

Super tasty! The owner is really nice and even reminded me not to order too much—and indeed😂, I couldn't finish it. The braised dishes were perfectly seasoned, the wine was delightful, and there was an adorable puppy - Nano🥰

A hidden gem in Milan! It was my first time visiting Milan, and I was instantly drawn to this small, unassuming storefront. At first glance, it looked like a tiny space, but stepping inside revealed a warm and inviting atmosphere with a surprising depth of charm. ZIOZIO Vino e Brasati offers truly authentic Chinese-style marinated dishes (“lu wei”), full of rich and comforting flavors that reminded me of home. What truly sets this place apart, though, is the owner’s impeccable taste in wine. Every wine pairing was carefully chosen to complement the dishes, creating delightful flavor combinations that brought each bite to life. I never imagined Chinese braised delicacies could pair so perfectly with Italian reds! Even after returning to the UK, I keep thinking about the flavors and the experience I had at this cozy spot. I genuinely hope to come back soon and relive those special moments—sharing great food, wine, and conversation in such a heartwarming space. Highly recommended for anyone looking to discover a unique culinary experience that blends cultures in the most delicious way.

This place is clean and the food is absolutely delicious! Simple yet flavorful. The owner and staff are very polite and friendly, which makes the experience even better. I highly recommend their chili oil — even though I can't handle spicy food, the aroma is so enticing that I can't resist dipping in a little just to taste it. The fried rice is wonderfully fragrant, and the drinks are great as well. Thanks for the amazing braised dishes I got to enjoy during my business trip. Overall, it’s a charming and interesting spot that I would definitely recommend if you’re nearby.

Fantastic food! Safe to say my favorite Chinese food in Milan. I’ve been here multiple times and love every dish I’ve tried. Also the wine pairing is perfect. Owners are super friendly and knowledgeable about wines. Always a guaranteed great night at ziozio. P.S. if you’re lucky you‘ll have a fluffy friend by your side
