Zitz Sum, a Coral Gables gem, fuses Asian flavors with Italian flair into a dynamic menu that constantly surprises, making every visit an adventurous delight.
"On multiple occasions, we have left Zitz Sum convinced we’d just eaten the best dish Miami has ever produced. And then we’ve never seen it on the menu again. This happens. But even though the frequency of edits on this menu requires a printer with a Ferrari engine, they get away with it by making miracles more than mistakes. Zitz Sum is an “Asian-inspired” restaurant with a bit of an Italian thing going on. But the dumplings, bao, and pasta you’ll encounter here actually do deliver on the seemingly impossible promise to put half a world’s worth of flavors on a single plate. This is not a safe dinner option. This is the reservation to make when you need a meal full of unpredictable excitement." - ryan pfeffer, virginia otazo, mariana trabanino
"This Asian-inspired local favorite always pushes the culinary envelope. For New Year’s Eve, talented chef Pablo Zitzmann will be offering a tasting menu that includes dishes like Hokkaido scallop handroll with black truffle, foie gras and concord grape tart, aged Peking duck (known also as Beijing duck) for two, and black cod with cauliflower velouté and champagne froth. Desserts include chocolate tart with white chocolate and Pavlova with lemon honey sorbet. Add a wine pairing for an additional fee. The restaurant will offer seating between 5 and 9:30 p.m. Price: $125 per person and an additional $60 for wine pairing" - Alona Martinez
"After becoming a runaway favorite during the COVID-19 shutdown through social media, an “Asian-ish” restaurant, Zitz Sum, has opened its permanent outpost in Coral Gables. Offering a much larger menu than its original creative dumpling creations, diners can feast on dishes like cucumber salad, charred cabbage, grilled pork chops, and hanger steak — but don’t worry, the dumplings also make the menu. To wash the dishes back, guests can sip on a large selection of natural wines, sake, and beer." - Dara Smith, Olee Fowler
"After becoming a runaway favorite during the COVID-19 shutdown through social media, “Asian-ish” restaurant Zitz Sum opened a permanent outpost in Coral Gables and earned a Michelin Bib Gourmand award. While the menu changes daily, the fan-favorite dumplings also appear. To wash the bites down, guests can sip on a large selection of natural wines, sake, and beer." - Laine Doss
"If you are Boia De reservation hunting because you want food you’ll remember for the next two and a half years, then Zitz Sum is here to save the day. Just like Boia De, this Coral Gables spot has one of the best menus in Miami, which changes often but results in a combination of the best food adjectives you can think of. Rotating dishes are influenced by Japanese, Chinese, Korean, Lao, and other Asian cultures. You’ll find dumplings, Thursday night ramen specials, and a brisket sheng jian bao that made us forget everything we learned in kindergarten about sharing. And because the menu changes constantly, dinner here is still exciting even if you come on a weekly basis." - ryan pfeffer
