"Come here for classic, hand-rolled, kettle-boiled bagels: And all the relevant toppings, from super-thick cream cheese variations, to smoked lox, to a pretty great egg salad (and an egg sandwich, for mornings when nothing else will do). There’s room to sit quickly, though most people don’t linger (although they do serve La Colombe coffee). It’s also a great option for catering."

The bagels were good and what you expected of a NYC bagel. I'm giving 4 stars for the Bagel and service but 3 stars for cleanliness. It wasn't clean, lots of crumbs all over the place. The table was sticky. Overall, will probably just stop by for a take out next time.

I had the Classic Bec, and if you love bacon you must try it! They have honey on the sauce in napkins and ketchup session, and I added honey to my bagel, just perfect! And they have gluten free bagels and vegan salmon, as my friend had it and loved it!

You haven’t experienced New York until you’ve had a New York bagel. No shortage of bagel options here. Got here early enough to snag a table and have a classic New York breakfast to start off our day.

Liked this bagel shop a lot - all our choices were delicious and the guy at the register was so nice. Great experience.

I never leave reviews but boy this place is a winner. I'm staying near by and asked for the best bagels in town, everyone said it's got to be Zucker's so I gave it a go. This is what you imagine when you think of a great NY bagel, great taste and texture and the fish is lovely too. I was also really impressed with the service--I ended up picking up some extras for the folks at my hotel who gave me the recommendation and the staff were very helpful in helping me pick a selection and then helping me pack it up nicely for sharing. There's a staff member there called Maramadu who especially impressed me. I've been back a few times since and he always goes out of his way to help me out and brings a real sense of fun and professionalism to the experience. You like to see that because it means the business is taking care of the people who work there and for my money that's even more important than the food so I'm a fan.

I recently visited Zucker’s bagels and I loved the food but especially Keilyn she was absolutely amazing! So warm, kind, and attentive — she made my whole experience at Zucker’s feel special. You can tell she truly cares about the customers and takes pride in what she does. Her energy is everything! If you stop by, hope you get lucky enough to be helped by her.

If you’re in the mood for bagels that will make you rethink everything you knew about breakfast, Zucker’s Bagels & Smoked Fish on Lexington Ave is the place to be. These bagels are perfect. Seriously, they’ve nailed the ideal balance of chewy and crisp, with just the right amount of doughy goodness. One bite and you’ll understand why they’re a NYC staple. Now, let’s talk spreads – specifically, the Kalamata olive feta spread. This is one of those spreads that you’ll start daydreaming about once you’ve had a taste. It’s creamy, salty, and totally addictive. And don’t even get me started on the sun-dried tomato with roasted garlic spread – it’s bold, zesty, and just the right amount of garlicky. Both are absolute winners that take these bagels to a whole new level. The staff here is as delightful as the bagels themselves. Courteous, knowledgeable, and efficient – they make the whole experience feel like a breeze. The service is prompt, so you won’t be left waiting long for your bagel heaven. The atmosphere is clean, modern, and inviting, making it a great spot to enjoy your breakfast or grab and go. I highly recommend Zucker’s if you’re craving a bagel experience that’s nothing short of excellent. Whether you’re a local or a visitor, this place is worth the trip. It’s a bagel lover’s dream come true!

Google
Great Bagels. If you’re new, just go for The Traditional on the everything bagel and branch out from there. Skip the The Flatiron like I had - there’s no point to the avocado in a bagel, you can’t taste it. Enjoy!

Yelp
I was craving a bagel and hadn't had one in a long while. I decided to break my fast with a bagel and smear. I was surprised it wasn't as expensive as I thought. The staff was attentive and took my order quickly. There is a nice seating area and lot of drink and snack options to chose from. The lighting is interesting. It reminds me of a corner bar. The bagel was light fresh and delicious.

Yelp
Tried the May special. Sonny's sandwich. The flavors were all very yummy. I didn't miss tomato at all and thought the hot sauce and pickle shallot cream cheese was a nice change. The salmon wasn't as tender as I would like. Overall also was ok for lunch time and not too crowded and I didn't wait that long.

Yelp
I went to their restroom and left my food on a table and when I exited the restroom, they had cleared my table and thrown my food away.

Yelp
For being in midtown Zuckers isn't bad but not what you think of a NYC bagel. The toast on my onion was not as crisp as I'd like, the bagel was flavorful and a nice chew not too gummy. Their cheese selection downside was not enough lox so order double and the tomatoes were super cold. If your in a rush it's worth it if you have time venture to the UES

Stephanie G.

Yelp
It was pretty average. Bagel was good. The service was good. It would be fine to get breakfast there every morning,

Yelp
So, 3 *** only because I'm loyal to Zuckers, theirs are among the best bagels in the city. I live near the one on the UWS and the staff there is inviting (though they are too often understaffed and waits can be too long even when the line is short/ a management problem) and professional/ competent. However, not so the staff at this location on 41st and Lex. Two fried eggs on a scooped out toasted and buttered bagel. My bagel was not scooped out, was barely toasted, and buttered on one side only. For the additional 55 cents they charged for butter, I'd think they'd butter both sides. They do that on 73rd and Columbus. Oh, and the wait was crazy long even though the place was near empty. The staff at this location definitely needs some thoughtful oversight. To say that I was disappointed is an understatement; you'd think with the amount of time I waited for them to make my order they'd have at least gotten it correctly.

Yelp
Really big space inside and lots of bagel and smoked fish options. The bagels are good/okay but nothing really remarkable. But if you need a basic bagel fix this is a great spot that's clean, spacious and has a large menu.
google avatar

Angelina Z.

Yelp
I got a free upgrade from lox CC to a sandwich with actual lox so that's a win. Otherwise this was just okay, the bagel was quite flat. There are better bagels in NYC but the proximity to grand central is quite nice.

Yelp
Oy vey, this is not the place you thought it was. Or, if you haven't thought about it yet, this is not the place you want it to be. If you're here, you've made a mistake - order quickly and get out as soon as you can. The food is fine. Or close thereto. I ordered pastrami on rye. Oops, no rye bread. Okay, "I'll take pumpernickel" was met with a blank stare. "Black bread" I tried. "We have bagels" was the answer. It's a leap for me to consider ordering pastrami on white bread. (A bagel, after all, is basically boiled white bread. Turns out it tastes far better than feared, but that is the crux of it.) And now, bagel in hand, comes the real problem. The sparse room is split between a section for ordering and a "dining room" for eating. The ordering section is split in two rows - one for new orders, the other to pre-orders. The wall holds the entire menu. Everything is minimally undecorated. The ordering room is sparse with a pair of ordering lines and the menu on the far wall. The separate dining room is larger with tables and a few hard-bottomed booths. It reminded me of the penalty box at a boarding school for unruly teens. Everything is bolted down. Everything. And obviously designed to prevent a distraught diner from ripping it out. Each table get four heavy-duty bolts. Each chair another four. By the time we got to the dining room we'd pretty much lost our appetites. Nonetheless the bagels were good. Not great, but good. The pastrami was too lean and a bit dry. The mustard was good. The lox, I was told, was lox. And that was the best that could be said about it. This section of Manhattan (a bit South and East of Grand Central Station) is thick with great places for bagels and lox and pastrami. I suggest you try them. This Zuckers outpost is not an option.

Yelp
Please avoid. There are so many options for bagels in New York City. This seemed like a promising option from the outside as you enter you will see plenty of different sandwich options. I ordered my usual, which is a everything bagel toasted with egg salad, this time I decided to add a little bit of lox. The bagel was toasted to the point of being burnt so it was bitter, the bagel itself was hard and difficult to eat, the lox was bland, the egg salad was absolutely tasteless and prepared in the sloppiest manner ever: literally a boiled egg halved and mixed with no flavor, called 'egg salad' is pitiful. I couldn't even finish my order despite being so hungry. Please keep walking and find another place for your bagel fix.

Yelp
Came while waiting for another reservation nearby. I ordered an everything bagel with scallion cream cheese. Though it was just a basic order, the bagel & cream cheese were delicious. Probably the best bagel I've ever had (i'm not a new yorker btw). It was quite busy, probably due to the location, but service moved quickly and the dining area was decently clean.
google avatar

Michael F.

Yelp
Great bagels near Bryant Park. We had a mix of cream cheese bagels and egg sandwiches and they were all a hit. Worth the wait, top 5 in NYC.
google avatar

JiHae L.

Yelp
When I walked in, I was quite confused at the line. I saw people ordering from both lines, so I didn't know where the line began and ended. I eventually figured it out. I've never been to this place, and since it was right by the office and it was pouring, I decided to check it out. They have breakfast and lunch specials. I decided to go with the lunch for Tuesday, so I chose an everything bagel with Chicken Salad inside along with a drink that priced out to $10.25. You can use any type of bagel with this order. It took quite a long time for my order to be ready. They do have seating indoors if you want to eat inside or can do take out.
google avatar

Naomi J.

Yelp
Egg bagel - tasty and cost effective but not that far above average in terms of quality for bagels in NYC.
google avatar

Deborah P.

Yelp
This location should have more stars because it was a pretty good stop for breakfast while we were there. The bagels were fresh, the order was quick and the servers were friendly. The restaurant was clean and not overcrowded. I liked the coffee and it got us fed for our busy day of sightseeing.

Bonnie C.

Yelp
Matzoh Brie was featured but the staff had no idea how to fulfill the order. Three options offered on the menu. Both choices were not correct. They put dry matzoh under an omelet.
google avatar

Jennifer L.

Yelp
Disappointed in the service here. I ordered a plain bagel toasted with butter. There was only butter on the bottom half of the bagel, none at all on the top half. I went to ask them for more butter to put on the other half of the bagel and they said "we charge for butter." Given that I had just paid for a bagel with butter I feel I've already paid for butter. I told the person I had ordered a bagel with butter and only half of it had butter. She walked away. Terrible service. Inedible half of bagel.
google avatar

Cyann L.

Yelp
Smoked fish on a bagel? I would've never thought of that but man this is good. I got The Alton Brown, and it was not dry as I thought it was would be. The roe was uneven in placement, but everything else is evenly structured. instagram: xcyanneats When ordering it was confusing because the lady didn't confirm my order, or she may have but didn't go in detail of my order because I wanted the "meal" but she assumed that I just want the bagel so I didn't get all requested which is fine. The bagel was enough for me anyways, I did add a side of mac and it was delicious Atmosphere was nice and calm. They are doing construction outside at this time so be ware if youre trying to find it as the door is small and if you need a spot to relax. This would be the place after the fix up
google avatar

Yelp
We wanted to try a classic NayC Bagel shop. Suckers was close to our hotel so we walked over for breakfast. The bagel and coffee were awesome. My wife got a toasted sesame bagel with a smear of crème cheese and a vanilla chai latte. It was fun to see so many people ordering bagels with all kinds of smoked meats. The in store seating was uncomfortable.
google avatar

Alex L.

Yelp
We stopped by Zucker's because we were in Bryant Park. It was a little spot with plenty of people coming in and out. There's a good amount of seating for a place this small. The service was good, and the guys taking our order were quick and to the point - what I love about NYC. I ordered The Traditional which is a Lox bagel (smoked salmon, tomatoes, capers, and cream cheese, no onions for me). A bit more salty than I expected but tasted great regardless. The bagel and ingredients tasted very fresh. It was very filling. Quick, simple, and delicious - great place to stop by!
google avatar

Rose L.

Yelp
Good for a quick fix. I tried the whitefish on toasted everything thinking it was whitefish salad but it's the actual fish. Tasty n good seating!
google avatar

Jane D.

Yelp
Chicken salad tastes Smokey. Not traditional. And if you're charging extra for lettuce you gotta do better than one thin leaf.
google avatar

William A.

Yelp
Took 16 mins to get my bagel. I think it was ready in 6 and sat under the heat lamp for 10. When I got it - dry, stale tasting bread. Anemic egg portion, cheese all bunched to one side. I've been on a NY bagel spree and I'll say, you can get a better, faster, cheaper bagel mostly anywhere. Only thing that's a positive Is they have a large seating area.
google avatar

Mackenzie W.

Yelp
Zucker's has decent bagels, relatively short lines, and a nice/large seating area. It's might not be the best bagel in NYC, but it's worth the stop if you're in the area and craving a reliable bagel. A few notes: Even though there was only one other person in line, it took over 15 minutes for my order (an egg & cheese bagel sandwich) to be prepared. It felt like a long wait considering the circumstances, but I wasn't in a rush and there's decent seating, so it wasn't a big deal. But, if you need quick service, this might not be the best spot. There's a large fridge of various bottled drinks (juices, sodas, etc.) if you're not wanting coffee. It was clean and modern inside, which was a relatively chill environment to eat in. Overall, I'd say there's no need to go out of your way to go to Zucker's, but if you're walking by, it's a good place to stop for breakfast or lunch in the area.
google avatar

Brian O.

Yelp
Great spot for breakfast and lunch. They have a good selection of options, from smears, sandwiches hit and cold. I had the Chelsea, chicken salad. It was very good. Clean inside. Some tables were a little small and close together.
google avatar

Ben C.

Yelp
Great typical NY bagels. Food is very well prepared. Eat in or takeout, their service is very efficient.
google avatar

Adam D.

Yelp
Food is good. Bagels are great. However service for NYC is terrible bc they are understaffed. They also don't update the pickup order time. Ordered an egg wrap at 815 with a 15 minute pickup. Wasn't ready until 850. This isn't the first time. It's like they almost act confused that there is a surge of business between 8am-9am.

Michelle M.

Yelp
I had lunch here several times and the service was great. The restaurant was very well-attended to and the floors were clean. The line moved very quickly as well. This location is great if you want to grab-n-go or dine in for a lunch meeting. Michelle M.

Susan N.

Yelp
Outstanding onion bagel with cream cheese, onion bits were crispy and chewy and the texture of the bagel was perfect! They didn't scrimp on the cream cheese either! Counter service was speedy and courteous. Reasonable prices.
google avatar

Matthew Y.

Yelp
I enjoyed my meal here with my friend. It is very close to Bryant Park and Grand Central--42nd St (Line 7), as well as many luxury hotels within walking distance. I'm thrilled they carry different bagel flavors and Dr Brown-branded sodas. When I return to NYC, this place will be visited once again.
google avatar

Jillian S.

Yelp
The bagels are SMALL and they are incredibly cheap with the toppings. Also they have a C rating.

Michael K.

Yelp
It was our first time here. Stood in line. Apparently the wrong line but oh well. When it came to our turn the person behind the counter refused to serve us even though we had clearly been waiting. Thankfully another patron who also wasn't in the right line spoke up and said we had been there before her. Still the person behind the counter refused to serve us and shunted us over to another person. Kinda got the feeling he was being racist to us (my wife is Asian). Not a good feeling. Not great customer service at all. Decent food though although it took a while and had to go to the counter once again to get it.
google avatar

Derrick C.

Yelp
Food (4/5) We got the Flatiron with and everything bagel toasted. This didn't feel too dense. The avocado and cream cheese was fluffy together. The smoked salmon had a good flavor too it (not too fishy and not too salty). It also came with a pickle which tasted a bit weird.I didn't try the small salad that was provided. Ambiance (4.5/5) This spot has lots of seating and every table essentially has its own personal couple of outlets. I haven't seen many places like this. So this is a really solid spot to work out of while you eat your bagel!

Hyejin C.

Yelp
Open avocado toast add egg with coffee. It was ok but I don't feel it's the best bagel. Location is more like tourist spot. In front of Bryan park.
google avatar

Rob M.

Yelp
This is a mediocre bagel spot with above average bagels. Let me explain. It boils down (pun intended) to what you're looking for. Do you simply want a bagel and schmear? Do you have time to kill? If so, Zucker's will give you a four-star experience. The bagels are fresh and authentic New York style. Zucker's stocks a diverse inventory of bagel types including whole wheats and (my fave) flats. If you desire a more complex order, however, and are in anything resembling a hurry (which, this is midtown and you are in New York, so...probably), this will be a three-star experience or less. First, the line shuffles at a torpid pace. If you stop by anywhere in the midtown lunch cycle, your wait will range anywhere from "too much" to "way too much" to "should I have just gone to the food cart?" Second, the bagel sandwiches are really just average to below average. The BEC was fine, just very mediocre, which makes the wait entirely unworth your while. The Columbus (Turkey bacon, egg white, avocado, Swiss cheese) is just unfortunately dry and flavorless. I can't comment on the coffee, as I've never indulged. But ultimately, if you want to maximize your visit, come at an off-hour and stick to a simple cream cheese bagel.

Yelp
We are bagel lovers in our home. And we take our bagels seriously. The bagels at Zuckers are amazing. They were fresh tasty and prepared just as we like them. As we watched the team turn out large amounts of orders. Everything looked fresh and well-presented and customers were pleased. We ordered a large order to take to a holiday party we were hosting for some volunteers. Who helped us with gift wrapping for my annual holiday party for the families of the domestic violence shelter. In closing looking for fresh bagel spreads and smoked fish zuckers is your place. The store was clean and the staff was all warm. and displayed great customer service.
google avatar

Cathy K.

Yelp
Loved the Truffled Egg, includes 2 eggs with truffle oil cream cheese and sautéed mushrooms. Slightly messy as with all good bagels and totally worth it. Place your order on the left along the drinks/refrigerator and then wait for your order on the larger right side. Decent number of tables but it's very busy during weekend breakfast hours... you will have to out-hustle some of the tourists. Don't come if you're in a rush, waited about 10 min for my food.
google avatar

Sean S.

Yelp
It has all of the makings of a great New York bagel place. The maze like line that you walk through, The New Yorkers barking at you to place an order, and the variety of bagels especially being able to add fish to an order, which is very gross to me but I know people like it. The one thing I didn't really enjoy were the bagels. It didn't feel as fresh as some of the other spots, and I only went here because of the proximity to my hotel. Coffee seemed fine, but I wanted a better experience. Maybe I'll go back and try a breakfast sandwich or something else to give it a second chance.
google avatar

Stace K.

Yelp
Zucker's sandwiches are excellent. I always take visitors here. The sandwiches are delicious, full of flavor, and there are a lot of unique options. Highly recommend.
google avatar

J. Lawrence N.

Yelp
I'm not going to waste a lot of time on a place that serves up mediocre bagels with less than friendly service, especially in their Chelsea location at prices that aren't warranted for the disappointingly low quality of its food. We've done delivery a bunch of times. We've done ordering in the store a bunch of times (the last and final time was when we stood and watched as the guy behind the counter literally berated the customer ahead of us for taking too long to decide what to order in the most nasty, uncalled for and tragically offensive way). If you hate your job or dealing with human beings, maybe find a new line of work or a job that doesn't require you to interact with people on a Sunday morning. Enough said.
google avatar

Ben Y.

Yelp
Went there twice in a weekend when visiting NYC. A short walk from Grand Central. Excellent bagels. Wait time is pretty short, at least for the two times I went. Would definitely recommend and will go again if I stay near Grand Central again.
google avatar

Esther G.

Yelp
There are absolutely better bagel options in the area, but sometimes it's early Sunday morning, you have no time and you're in the area. A bagel sandwich that's supposed to be ham, egg and cheese that's ... ham. On a bagel. And that's it.
google avatar

Jose C.

Yelp
This was my last stop during my New York City visit. We came here right when they opened up and luckily for the first time didn't have to wait in a line. They unfortunately weren't allowing people do dine in so we had to eat our food on the road. My wife ordered a plain bagel with strawberry cream cheese. I had one bite and it was tasty. I decided to get a Bacon, Egg and Cheese on everything bagel. Zuckers served one of the best BECs I've ever tried. It was cheesy and it had plenty of bacon. The bagel tasted fresh and overall the sandwich was very filling and delicious. I had a BEC at a more popular place the morning before and was honestly quite disappointed. I'm glad Zuckers didn't let me down and I'll definitely be returning on my next visit. I also ordered a Blakc & White cookie which seems like all bagels shops have these. They were a little bit on the sweet side but still delicious.

L S.

Yelp
Wow, I was about to walk in. Noticed a food cleaning grade of a "C". The kitchen must be really nasty to get this RATING. Avoid this place at your own health...
google avatar

Jennifer C.

Yelp
I was just visiting NY and I wanted to find a good New York bagel. Since I don't eat bagels on the regular, I don't know the nitty-gritty of what makes a great bagel, and after reading some of the reviews here I was weary to come. I waited for about 5-10 minutes before getting my bagel (Sunday morning at 8:15), which was much better than the 30 minutes many of the reviews said. The entire place is really relaxed and the bathrooms are really clean. I got "The Healthy Nut" on an Everything bagel and "The Leo" on an Everything bagel. The salmon is great and nothing is too salty. The flavor is great! The prices are not bad with each bagel being around $10. If you don't know what you're looking and just want a good bagel then they will do you right.
google avatar

Marianne W.

Yelp
Zuckers Bagels and Smoked Fish is new to me. I was surprised they have several locations. I wasn't getting a warm fuzzy feeling being here. I didn't know the drill and the employees were unsmiling and unhelpful. I only wanted to buy a bagel to eat later. I asked if there was a charge for slicing it in half and was told no. The bagel is huge and cost $1.85 which is more than I usually pay. I got the Wheat Everything. I had two days breakfast after adding my own cream cheese. I may check out their other bagel flavors at different locations. It's a decent bagel just not a homey bagel shop environment. It's more like a elitist overpriced bagel shop for tourists staying in this neighborhood.
google avatar

Nahi K.

Yelp
Nice spot to pick up bagels. Plain bagels are $1.95 and there's a variety of cream cheese spreads to choose from. Pretty extensive menu.
google avatar

Giacomo C.

Yelp
Bagels are solid at this Midtown East establishment. Not much place to sit, but you can still get them and enjoy them in Bryant Park (especially on a nice warm day). Plan on taking more than you can eat, as you may crave for them again a few hours later. Recommended.
google avatar

Vanshika A.

Yelp
Tried Zuckers for the first time and it's easy to understand why people love it! Warm and friendly quick service. Piping hot bagels. I got my usual, an everything bagel with scallion cream cheese. The bagel's taste and texture were perfect. I would definitely go back! Tried my friend's bagel with their new chipotle cream cheese and really enjoyed that as well. It's definitely spicy but delicious! Close to area attractions and hotels, for an easy morning bite. Would stop again! Also I've seen a lot of negative reviews regarding delivery so not sure if there are lots of issues with that but we had a good experience in store.
