The ‘Parasite’ Noodle Dish Ram-Dom Is a Hit at Fancy NYC Korean Restaurants - Eater NY

"Yurum Nam of Zusik on West 14th Street says the restaurant’s $20 version of the dish uses hand-pulled noodles because it 'wouldn’t be a good idea to use instant food.'" - Luke Fortney

5 NYC Restaurants to Try This Weekend - Eater NY

"We’re all familiar with the izakaya, a type of Japanese establishment specializing in drinks and bar food, the eats of an international nature, though adapted for Japanese tastes. Zusik is a Korean gastropub right on 14th Street that partly duplicates an izakaya menu, but with Korean notions of its own to accompany a selection of cocktails, wine, sake, and beer (a flagon of draft Korean beer is the best deal). Most dishes are either small plates or rice bowls. In the latter category, find eel over rice in a thick sauce, while the former includes mandoo (dumplings) stuffed with pork and deep fried. There’s quite a bit to be explored on the menu; my favorite thing was marinated short rib on an elongated hump of truffled mash potatoes." - Eater Staff

Zusik Review - Chelsea - New York - The Infatuation

"Zusik is a Korean restaurant on 14th Street in Chelsea and unfortunately, the food here isn’t very good. The kimchi pancakes are bland, and the spicy seafood pancakes aren't spicy and barely have any seafood in them." - Hannah Albertine

What is not to love in this food heaven? Everything was delicious. Just perfect in my opinion. Nothing too salty, nothing too greasy, nothing too sweet. If i have to be critical, it was the portion i would pick on, but hey! Nobody said this was Texan serving. We started out sharing because this was our first visit, but i could easily have eaten each order by myself, especially since it was this delicious. I highly recommend this as a must go resto. Calling out the foodies!!! This is a gem right here. Oh and the service was spectacular! We are definitely going back!!!!

Had the lunch set. Good food, nice Korean flavors, well prepared and great service. Menu changes for dinner. I’d like to give it a try. Very tasty! Update: came back for dinner and loved it. Delicious burger! Seafood pancake also tasty.

Delicious twist on Korean food! At dinner, they have lots of small plates which are inspired by traditional Korean dishes but at the same time different and special. I had the beef rolls, mackerel, old fashioned rice bowl, and hotteok dessert plate. Everything was interesting and tasty. My cocktail, the Fire Obsession was also unique. All the dishes were beautifully presented. The waitstaff were eager and friendly. I can't wait to go back and try more of the menu.

Respectable place to grab late bite. High points included friendly service and flavors. Downside included an underwhelming vegetable platter which was surprisingly small (my vegetarian friend was imagining something more substantive... But it was good!) and service order which was as dishes were finished. That led to the bibimbap being the first dish delivered and the steamed pork buns being the last ... I didnt mind that in this case but bad the dinner been more formal I would have definitely preferred knowing in advance and ordering to share from the start. Will come back if in the mood for Korean and in the neighborhood again. Recommend:kimchi pancake!

The waiter was extremely nice and the food was outstanding. The side dishes were delicious and authentic, and have definitely exceeded my expectations. We ordered the Bibimbap, Jaeyuk, Haemul, and Haemul kalgooksoo. Everything was delicious and the portions were quite big too. An extra kudos for the AMAZING side dishes and kimchi . Supporting restaurants during COVID is so important, and they had plastic dividers between very spaced out tables and also outdoor seating!

Food was absolutely great. All based on the traditional Korean food but bring it to a well-made fine dinning level. One thing to point out is the dish itself are all small size dish. It works perfect for drink sides. But I’ll suggest to order at least 3 dish per person for meal. It’s actually good since food are all tasty.

Nothing to complain about. The place was clean, staffs were very friendly, service was fast and efficient, everything that I ordered was good, and it's not overpriced. I recommend everything that I ate, but the chicken dish was actually a bit spicy, so if you can't eat spicy foods, avoid it.

Legit Korean place. Love the location (West village is unbeatable!) and the vibe here is chill - not loud or rushed like in other restaurants in Korean town. Came here for dinner. The waitress recommended that we should each order two dishes given the smaller portion. Our group favorite was the fried chicken. Liked their octopus salad - very tender. The Old Fashioned and Uni rice bowl we’re both great. I think we could use more Uni in the dish though. Overall a relatively well done Korean restaurant in the neighborhood!
