Zutto Japanese Ramen Sushi Bar

To be honest, I went to the restaurant based on google maps recommendations, I must say it was a disappointment. We decided to try sushi (Philadelphia rolls) It was the only authentic thing made by someone who knows sushi. The ramen was simple, without much flavor, we really didn't like it. Also the price is high for such a simple flavor plate. We realized that we were not the only people who had been left with the bad taste of the food, as several tables left their plates with food still on them. On the other hand, the service was fast and friendly as well as attentive but still, it is not a place I would want to return to.

This restaurant was such a surprise, from the outside we weren’t sure. The staff were very friendly and picked a nice booth. We started with the cauliflower bites and charred edamame which was amazing, never had that charred before the cauliflower was crispy and delicious. My friend had the tonkotsu and said how rich and creamy it was. Really good chunks of pork. I had the vegetable soup Ramen which had spinach noodles. Never had before but I thought had great flavour and texture, firm. It had quite a lot of tofu and packed full of veg. Great size.

First and not the last time coming to this spot :) my roommate and I love ramen and decided to try out this place . We ordered the pork buns which came with crushed peanuts, it was different but soo delicious the cut of the meat was thick and flavorful. I got the kimchi ramen and he got the original ramen and this is the first time I ever finish my broth! Friendly and attentive staff cozy place and delicious food ! Definitely recommend for the ramen , I don’t know about the sushi rolls bc we didn’t order them .

The service and atmosphere is incredible, the cocktails are INCREDIBLE and so are the appetizers. The miso soup is one of the best I’ve ever had. Their sushi wasn’t my favorite, but it makes sense because the focus is mainly on their ramen. Highly recommend coming regardless!

The server Kai took such good care of us. She kept refilling our drinks whenever they were low and she kept checking in to see if we were doing fine. She also kept making us laugh she was so funny and the fooood the god was amazing I had the chicken taryaki and it was perfectly seasoned and the rice was cooked to perfection. And we came around hallowen so the had spooky decor the made it perfect for taking photos and the music the play was not to loud that you couldn't hear and the music was also really good 10000% recommend.

Stumbled in here on a whim on a freezing evening for some hot ramen and boy is this place a hidden gem. Inside is an entire hidden seating area with buzzing tables & phenomenal aromas. Went with the pan pork gyoza first and they were hot, fresh, and delicious. Then did ramen and ordered the shoya ramen and the other pork option. And OMG. I will be coming back for sure, best ramen I’ve ever had & probably will have.

The sushi here is absolutely solid for the price. I had the spicy girl salmon roll last time I came and it was delicious

Found out about Zutto Ramen through the Yelp Elite: Women's History Month Event and decided to check them out. They have a pretty extensive menu. We opted for cocktails, 2 sushi rolls and ramen. The cocktails and sushi were great but the real stars were the ramen bowls. They have unique bowls that I an upgrade from the typical ramen offerings in NYC. We had the Seafood Shoyu Bowl and the Chicken Wonton bowl. I'm honestly still dreaming about the chicken wonton bowl, it was that good!

First off the staff here was great, very accommodating despite being a little late for my reservation. I came here to dine with Gia, and we both agreed that the staff here was very patient and tried their best to serve customers toward the end of service. The place is what you expect on the outskirts of chinatown, cozy and intimate the place is good for small groups to dine together. The decor is cheeky and vibrant. A good vibe for the typical lower east sider. To the food! We both got the premium box sushi (omakase box) and while the sushi was relatively good, I think you're better off grabbing one of the ramen bowls that they offer. Each sushi piece was inconsistent in size, and some pieces felt a little older than they should be. Similar to what you might find at the end of the day at a sushi kiosk. The two main culprits that night was probably the scallop and botan ebi. Both tasted a little off. In retrospect it probably would have been better to try a larger variety of dishes but that would have required more stomachs. I'd come back to try the ramen just because the service and vibe was pretty nice.

I was disappointed with my experience at Zutto. I had a company meeting there and was in the mood for some sashimi. Given Zutto's good reviews, I decided this would be a good place to have our meeting. The atmosphere was relaxing, and the service was good. They offer happy hour drinks and an $18 sampler, where you can choose three appetizers. I ordered the Daily Sashimi, which included 12 pieces of the chef's sashimi selection, miso soup, and a bowl of sushi rice. The miso soup was flavorful, but the rice was dry, and unfortunately, the sashimi didn't seem very fresh. This was confirmed later when I experienced stomach pains and had to visit the bathroom after returning home. Also, if you need extra ginger, it will cost you an extra $2. My colleagues ordered the Spicy Chicken Ramen and Spicy Tonkotsu Ramen, both of which were good. However, according to my other colleague, the Spicy Miso Ramen was too salty, though they did provide a generous amount of chashu. Overall, I think two stars is warranted given my stomach pains, but my colleague ramen dishes were overall good. I will not be recommending this establishment.

The atmosphere is a nice hole in the wall place. The appetizers were delicious, recommend the takoyaki. The spicy miso Ramen was on the salty side but the tonkatsu was good. The service was prompt and we were able to get your food quick. Overall, recommend!

Small place, but nice ambience with an underlying Asian theme against the backdrop of big TV sports games! Service was quick and friendly, with a number of fast water refills. The food was very good and pretty reasonable. The scallops Crudo was very fresh and tasty with a nice touch of salmon and eggs as a garnish. The seafood Ramen had great variety, although I did wish it had a soft boiled egg as a staple. There was really nothing special about the signature Zutto burger, but the fries were very crunchy and delicious, and not at all greasy. Definitely will return.

Very good and fast service. Restaurant itself is cozy with cute decor and dimly lit. It would be nice for dinner but I went during lunch and felt that the lighting could have been brighter. It was hard to see your food. We ordered lunch special ramen and it was fair for the price. Would return for service. .

The place is pretty cramped especially since it can get busy. The food is good but nothing insane, nothing to write home about. But the staff was very nice. There are better ramen spots I probably wouldn't go again.

I had a disappointing experience at this ramen restaurant. The main issue was that the service was really spread too thin. It took around 30 minutes just to get my check at the end of the meal. My server was running back and forth across the whole restaurant - they clearly need to staff up better to provide acceptable service. In terms of the food, it was just okay. Pretty average ramen, not terrible but not great either. The broth had some flavor but was not as rich and savory as I would expect from a good ramen spot. The noodles also lacked the springy, bouncy texture that makes for a satisfying bowl of ramen. Overall, between the incredibly slow, understaffed service and the mediocre food, I can't recommend this place. They need to make some serious improvements in staffing and in the kitchen for me to consider giving them another try. Plenty of other ramen options out there that I'd choose over this decidedly average spot, unfortunately.

Went for dinner and didn't love my experience. The sushi I had didn't taste fresh and the lychee martini wasn't the best. Someone at my table got the pork buns and said they were still frozen. The spicy fried rice also had this weird flavor. The service was also pretty slow and for some reason the restaurant was extremely warm. It's also a small restaurant so not the best for groups would say.

Avoid this place! The noise level is unbearable, making it impossible to have a conversation. On top of that, the servers hover around the table every two minutes, constantly pushing more drinks--super annoying. And to top it all off, I paid $19 for a single sushi roll that was totally not worth it. The quality was disappointing. Save your money and go somewhere better!!

Now that I know there's a ramen bar close to my workplace, I have to come here now. A good Yelper connection referred me to this place and I loved everything about it. The peaceful vibes, the sections for table and bar diners just like your traditional ramen parlor you see tucked in the corner of the block, and the food's detail. My host and server treated me with so much respect and they were mindful of everything and how I asked of it. I did come in using a promotional appetizer card and the staff didn't give me any difficulties of my request. Went for the spicy tuna fried rice bites and wow it was my first time. The creamy shavings of the fresh spicy tuna on top like a spread but on a fried rice nugget that's similar tasting like rice crackers. And this was just the first dish that came out that blew my taste buds away. For the ramen, I knew I came to a promising noodle shop and each of the selections on the menu fits in to your classic ramen flavors. I chose the Shoyu ramen because it offered pork jowl and umami flavored broth with all my favorite vegetable toppings. The noodles and broth were zesty, soft and rich. The pork jowl was a thick layer of fatty and roasted meat fun. Even my favorite part, the ramen runny egg was so good and cooked perfectly to ooze the yolky flow. Another good tip to share, this place does provide a promotion on the Tomomasu Japanese sodas if you write a Google or Yelp review for them. Always good to help your newly opened local business and to show your gratitude. This was my kind of favorite quiet night dinner in a dim relaxed setting just slurping my precious noodles like a happy work bumpkin after a day at the office. This won't be the last time I visit this place. There's more than just ramen.... Much more Japanese items to taste for sure.

The food was delicious, fresh ingredients, nice portion size, plenty of options to choose from. The service was friendly, dishes were beautifully plated, the vibe was chill, nice music that was mostly instrumental and upbeat (volume was great / not loud at all so that you can conversate. I would def return. TIP: if you go to the Yelp app, and check in on the Zutto restaurant, you can redeem a $1 rum cocktail which was a bonus.

This is a good spot if you want drinks with your meal. They have a variety of drinks and cocktails and had a lively and loud atmosphere. Sushi rolls were good because there wasn't much rice. Ramen was just mid. Tonkatsu didn't have the creamy pork broth flavors but instead had ginger or pepper taste.

This place is absolutely incredible. I've been looking for this particular style of ramen (Spicy Miso) for years and I finally found it. The broth is robust and you can smell the miso emanating from the bowl before taking your first bite. While the portion may look smaller than some other spots, I will tell you that it was the perfect portion as it's both hardy and satiating. I couldn't even get halfway through and had plenty for leftovers. Also, can we talk about the noodles? They were SUPER TASTY! Yummm. The drinks were also delicious. We got the lychee soda mocktail and zutto mama cocktail. I appreciated the mocktails being at a cheaper price point than an alcoholic beverage which tends to not be the case at most restaurants. The service was solid and I appreciate the kitchen being separated from the dining area as I've found the strong odor of some ramen broths can cling to your clothes. This is a must try spot if you like ramen. I can't wait to come back and try their sushi as well, they have great options for not just ramen toppings, but for other Japanese dishes.

Super fresh delicious rolls. Lover roll is good to try. Sake is hot and beer is cold. The pork belly is tender and sweet. Buns are soft as a baby's botom

On vacation found through yelp !!! Super Cute small quaint restaurant! Food was beyond amazing . We had Gayoza & Chicken Fried rice & 2 rolls which was about $75 and worth it .. Also nice clean single bathrooms which is a plus for us visitors ...

It was pretty empty when we came in even though the weather was beautiful outside. I received a gift card during a Yelp elite event over a month ago. A MOSTLY plant based friend came into town and I figured this would be a nice place to take him since they had options for him to eat and I wanted to try more of their food. They allowed him to sit around and wait for me for an hour while he had a business meeting. I thought that was nice of them, especially when I came in and saw he didn't order anything lol. I got the Jamasakura and lychee martini. The Jamasakura was so bomb and I should've just stuck with that even though they are similar with just an ingredient or two missing. I didn't like the short rib buns because the sauce was really really sweet. I was hoping for something more savory. I ordered a volcano roll as well and I really enjoyed that. I had a little of the tempura mochi since my friend ordered it. It was good but I was shockingly too full for dessert.

This place is a great spot!! The service was great from start to finish. All the staff were attentive, patient, and kind. I had a passion fruit mojito and it was delicious then I had chicken gyoza and chicken ramen. I cannot recommend it enough!

Came here on a Tuesday night with one other friend without a reservation and we had no issues being seated! We sat outside and were quickly served. We each got the daily selection of sushi which comes with a spicy tuna roll and was absolutely delicious! The fish was fresh and the portion size was perfect. You also get a miso soup to start with which was a nice touch! We also shared the fire roll and it was amazing! Perfectly crunchy with just the right amount of sauce. Would definitely return!

Loved the happy hour, 3 appetizer for $18 is such a deal! My favorite was the wasabi chip with tuna. So good, wished I could buy the chips alone. The spicy tuna bites were good too just a little too much rice for me. I wasn't a fan of the squid balls, can't remember the proper name. The cucumber lemonade tasted like candy, could become overwhelming after a while. I got the 3 rolls platter, the sushi was okay honestly. Could've been better but the miso soup was really good. It comes included with the platter. Location looks very small from the front when you walk in but the dining is in the back which becomes very spacious. The service is slow.

I was in the neighborhood and wanted to grab lunch. I ordered their any 3 rolls combo ($18.95) from their lunch menu (11:15 am to 3 pm) for takeout. They also have any 2 rolls combo ($15.95). I got 2 Salmon Avocado rolls and 1 Spicy Salmon rolls. Sushi was delicious and fresh. Will definitely come back to try their ramen and other sushi selections.

This wasn't my favorite. We came for happy hour and the service was terrific, the food was so so. We had: - Spicy tuna over crispy rice - very good - Burger - tasty - Zutto Sushi Box - Some was good some was so so. I left most of it over - the fish didn't taste that fresh. Great location and nice ambiance, not sure I would come back though.

I came here on a Sunday for a late lunch around 4 PM. We were immediately seated. I recommend coming here for a low-key date night or with friends. They have a 2-hour open bar from 12-6 PM daily for $30. We ordered the kimchi ramen, spicy tonkatsu ramen, and crispy spicy tuna roll. The ramen was great, exactly what you want from your ramen. The broth was flavorful, and the noodles were nice and bouncy. The crispy spicy tuna roll you cannot go wrong with; I wish it came in even numbers. Service was okay, a little slow. It appeared to be understaffed.

I came here on a Friday with my brother. I purchased a Pulsd voucher ($89) to use. To use the voucher, you need to call and make a reservation and say you are using a Pulsd voucher. We got: - Zutto Edamame - 2 omaskase boxes - Mochi ice cream - Sake and rosé The edamame was seasoned with something that was super yummy. The bowl was pretty big too! It was way too early to drink so we barely even drank but the voucher comes with 2 glasses of wine/sake. The omakese box was super cute, but I think I prefer the experience where each course is served to you. Everything was fresh and melted in your mouth - quality fish. Service was great! My brother and I were seated in the back of the restaurant and pretty much had the whole section to ourselves. There's 2 single stall bathrooms in the back.
