WOW!! This restaurant is off the chain. Our drinks were incredible. The crab guacamole was absolutely amazing but the freshly made chips (extremely good) kept breaking. LOL The entrees, shrimp and grits and blackened grouper were full of flavor and fabulous prepared! The presentation of the dishes for eye-popping of color. The raspberry bread pudding with white chocolate was incredible! My wife was blown away with the texture and flavor. Jessica, our server, guided us both through the entire dinner. Her suggestions paid off. Now the things that need improvement. We sat in the enclosed patio which lacked enough AC. They had portable units but they lacked ability to cool the room effectively. I would suggest shades to block the sun. We had a very wonderful experience tonight. We plan on going back but we'll sit in the dining room.

My boyfriend and I had the pleasure of dining in for my birthday, and I must say, this place was everything! I wish I could remember our server’s name because she was absolutely exceptional. She gave detailed descriptions of the daily specials and the entire menu with such care and enthusiasm. As a culinary major, I truly appreciated the thought, flavor, and presentation in every dish. The food was more than just delicious, It was a full culinary experience I won’t forget. We’ll definitely be back!

I eat at Zuzu every chance I get, and it never disappoints! I usually try something new each visit and it’s always amazing—the charbroiled oysters are to die for (and I don’t even like oysters!). The drinks are consistently great, the staff is wonderful, and the atmosphere is beautiful both inside and out. Even the outdoor seating is comfortable year-round with AC and heat. Love, love, love this place!

Not gonna lie—I came in with “meh” expectations. As a foodie from NYC and the Northeast, I’ve got a high bar. But Zuzul absolutely exceeded it. From the food to the service, everything was on point. I grabbed a seat at the bar, which was cozy and comfortable for solo dining. Kicked things off with a couple of cocktails, and both blew me away—complex, well-crafted, and memorable. For the appetizer, I went with the charred cauliflower, and it was divine. The romesco sauce was the real MVP—bold, flavorful, and the perfect match for a vegetable that usually leans bland. It was so good I actually tried to recreate it at home… didn’t come close. For the main, I had the shrimp and grits, and they were nothing short of exceptional—rich, savory, and deeply satisfying. Whether you’re a first-timer or a local, this spot deserves your attention. If Zuzul were located in any of the country’s foodie hotspots, it’d be racking up awards.

First time here as I was visiting from Charlotte, NC. Ordered 3 items (sliders, potatoes, & some kind of fish dish) from their Tapas menu. It was plenty of food for the 2 of us to share. All excellent!!! Also had a mimosa that was delicious & refreshing! Very cool vibe!

The atmosphere was really nice, the wait staff was great even though it was slammed for Valentines Day. Food was good for the most part. My wife's seafood (crusted tuna) was really good. My steak, however, was warm at best and not cooked well. It was still edible, just not a great steak. The veggies that came with it were great, however, and the bread pudding dessert was awesome. Our server Quinton was a great server.

Food was delicious. Restaurant was pretty noisy. But overall a really good experience.

My husband and I dined at Zulu’s for our anniversary dinner on March 29th 2024. First let me start by saying this place is a diamond in the rough (Shreveport)! From the ambience, to the food, the drinks and hands down probably one of the best dining service experiences we have encountered in a long time. To start we had the shrimp ceviche, it was so fresh and full of flavor- served with tortilla chips, our taste buds were in heaven. I had the Oaxacan from the cocktail menu which is a mezcal old fashioned type of drink- the smoky notes of the mezcal really came through and worked deliciously in this drink- definitely recommend to the old fashioned fans. For the main course, my husband had the 60 day aged ribeye, I had the pistachio crusted fresh catch, which was halibut the evening we were there. We were both blown away by how perfect and flavorful everything on our plate were, it was hard to not eat every last bite because it was just so so delicious. Literally perfect Upon bringing our check, our waitress wished us happy anniversary, and left us a gift- a chocolate soufflé tart - omg, it was rich, silky smooth, not too overly sweet, and was topped with fresh whipped cream. We both thought that was a really thoughtful (and omg delicious) touch. Last but not least our waitress was phenomenal, she was attentive, personable, knowledgeable, and we never felt rushed- she genuinely seemed to enjoy what she does, and was happy to answer any questions we had- which makes for a beautiful and refreshing dining experience. If I could give 10 stars I would, we thoroughly enjoyed our the entire dining experience, and we can’t wait for the next special occasion so we can treat ourselves again!

Yelp
Fantastic experience! Took my roommate for his birthday and the entire staff went beyond expectations to make his experience special. Zach was an outstanding waiter! The scallops are always delicious!

Yelp
My husband & I favorite restaurant in Shreveport. We've ventured the 2 hour drive to Shreveport a number of times to dine here after discovering this place on a quick Fathers Day weekend road trip. The food is exceptional, the service a 10 & the vibe CHECK passes. We've had the pleasure of meeting the owner one dinner night and he was extremely personable and joined us for dinner while discussing what brought us to the area & after learning we drove in JUST to dine there he was pleased. The seafood is extremely fresh The bread pudding is the perfect closing dish Chefs Kiss

Yelp
My boyfriend and I have always enjoyed going to Zuzul, at least until we went to the Omakase.....in short it's not worth the money. Just go for dinner or lunch. It's been a month or two ago but it still irritates me. We felt ignored by the manager and chef. The manager also made it a point to take pictures, talk up, and drink with everyone but us in the omakase dinner. We both look young for our age and I don't think she thought we were worth her time. It was loud and hard to hear what the chef was saying about each dish. I asked him to repeat himself several times and eventually just gave up. So, after over $350, and many courses my poor boyfriend was still hungry when we left I've been to an Omakase overseas and they treated every guest like they were special and if you had a food allergy or aversion, they made an alternative dish for you. Why? Because they want you to enjoy it! I'm not a fan of avocado due to a terrible food poisoning incident. I told them I couldn't eat avocado and instead of an alternative they either didn't give me the dish or just left out the avocado, or I just ended up giving it to my boyfriend.... There was alot of avocado in the multiple dishes. They didn't bother to replace it with an alternate ingredient. If someone is paying $350 for dinner then you need to be putting something else on that stale tuna taco besides avocado!

Yelp
Finally able to try this spot thanks to a gift card! Definitely pricey, but one of the best meals I've had in Shreveport in a long time. Wonderful service. We sat at the counter/ open chef's table. Very lively (read: loud) place. Not somewhere I would recommend for an intimate dinner. Eventually I'd like to try the poke bowl. But at $48 (compared to under 20 down the road), I'm not quite ready for that splurge. Nice steak will run you ~100. The fish was perfectly cooked.

Yelp
This is probably my favorite restaurant in Shreveport. The interior is dimly lit and designed very sleek and modern, perfect for a date night. I thought the table setup was beautiful, and the ambience amazing. Service was friendly and timely. I had no reservation either, but the staff were able to accommodate very quickly. I recommend making a reservation. The food was actually incredible! I am not much of a grits fan, since I think people tend to make them bland. However, Zuzul's grits were so flavorful and rich, I had to finish the plate. Frankly, they were the highlight of the shrimp and grits dish, despite the shrimp also being very flavorful and delicious. The only downside to this restaurant is that it's a bit expensive for a casual dining experience, so I would definitely go with a purpose. Awesome place.

Yelp
This restaurant was super cute and came highly recommended. We got a table outside on the patio which was nice. Everything we had here was delicious. Our server was really attentive and explained the menu while giving us recommendations. The cocktails were great, appetizers were great, entrees were great! That truffle risotto was amazing! Loved every single thing we got!

Seth N.

Yelp
One of the best restaurants in Shreveport. Staff is always extremely friendly and accommodating. The crispy chicken and crab cakes are must tries. The burrata starter is also a great choice for a seafood heavy meal.
google avatar

Yelp
We had a wonderful lunch. The burgers were amazing and the fries were just as good. Steak sandwich was ok as well. The waiter was in good spirits and was attentive. Our only suggestion is that the music was a little loud.

Yelp
Love this place to pieces it gives me a relaxing vibe because the aesthetic is so subtle, my favorite seating is outdoors because I love to relax and unwind and be one with nature over an amazing cocktail, great food and top tier service. Today I caught happy hour (TAPAS) 2pm-5pm

Yelp
Wednesday business dinner at Zuzul and unfortunately I have to say it didn't hit the mark Nice decor with outside eating available, our table of 5 was in the dining room where we saw all the activity and it was clear the kitchen was backed up, our dinner took over 2hrs. We had the cauliflower appetizer , it had no flavor and I had the pork chop entree which was overcooked. Our waiter was absent most of the time and didn't check back with us regarding food delays Sorry to say Z didn't work for me

Yelp
The owner/chef is as amazing as his dishes! I have tried multiple items on the menu and have only ordered one item (octopus) twice. Each dish has exceeded my expectations and I hope that continues. Don't think twice about trying this restaurant. It is a must have! Shreveport needed this!

Lindsay L.

Yelp
Betty is our favorite waitress. This is, by far, our favorite spot in town for date night. Their patio is awesome. They are open to suggestions and always making improvements to satisfy their customers. They did a renovation not long ago to improve the sound and lighting on the patio (both of which were much needed). I also like that they change their menu seasonally to mix things up. One of my favorite dishes here is the filet and also the sweet potato bisque. They also have several gluten free desserts to choose from.

Kenneth B.

Yelp
Overall, the restaurant is good. We sat in the enclosed patio in blue and white chairs which weren't particularly comfortable (sit low for the table). Restaurant atmosphere is nice, the wait staff was knowledgeable, professional and attentive. We ordered shrimp and grits, lamb, and fish and chips. I'd say the main criticism was the main dish, shrimp, lamb, fish and chips were hot, but the grits and mash potatoes were room temperature. With that said, the food did have great flavor and was presented well. Of note, the portions aren't large. I'm average (5'10, 190 pounds) and if we didn't have appetizers, I would not have been full.
google avatar

Joaquin M.

Yelp
Great food, great ambiance, great service! Had the Krispy chicken twice. The guacamole was a little dissatisfying but not bad ... just ok.
google avatar

Spike S.

Yelp
We were there for lunch. The food was average bar food; not as impressive as I had anticipated it to be. We ordered the fried okra appetizer which was a large portion of heavily battered okra with a tasty remoulade dip. I had the blackened fish sandwich; my daughter had the spicy shrimp sandwich and my wife had a blackened crab cake sandwich. Of the three the crab cake sandwich was the best. Excellent tasting, quality crab meat. The wait staff provided excellent service. The food preparation time for a couple of blackened sandwiches seemed unnecessarily long. It is a nice bar/restaurant. A good place to relax and have a glass of wine. The dinner offerings may be better than the lunch.

Yelp
This review is for takeout. The pâté tasted very grainy. The panna cotta was the consistency of brie/cream cheese, no signature jiggle, just dense. The seasonal flavor was toasted benne sesame, which was light, but they served it with a raspberry sauce which did not go well together. The lamb I requested rare, and while it was fully cooked, it was very tender. They season their dishes well, and their potato purée was heavenly--the only good thing I ate. I plan on giving this place a second chance in-person, but as an initial preview, I was extremely underwhelmed. I should probably opt to order their seafood instead.
google avatar

Yelp
It's very well done seafood. Awesome service. You can tell everything they do is fresh and they are in a league of their own. There's not another restaurant like it in the SBC. We have been a dozen times and it's fantastic every time we go.

Bayou Belle B.

Yelp
This restaurant hit all the marks- relaxing atmosphere, friendly knowledgeable staff, And most importantly really good unpretentious food. Happy hour is incredible - substantial happy hour food and you will know there is liquor in your cocktail. Nothing from the microwave or freezer in this place- just tasty chef inspired food. P

Yelp
Excellent service and atmosphere and great food. Believe or not, one of our favorites is the fried chicken. The appetizers and cocktails are fantastic. The prices are fair for the type of restaurant, but plan for a bit of a splurge, not a budget night out.

Graham A.

Yelp
This is a fantastic, relatively new restaurant in Shreveport that produces quality food and has outstanding service. The whole grilled fish was perfectly prepared. The atmosphere was open and modern. Highly recommend.

Yelp
I'm so impressed with this restaurant. The decor was inviting and the menu was mouthwatering. We enjoyed our cocktails and the service was beyond measure. I devoured the octopus and chorizo, photo is here. The drinks A+. So happy to dine at this impressive location.

Yelp
Potatoes Zuzul, but that item was not available. I had the Cuban and the misses had the shrimp and grits. I have to say that both dishes were good, but not great. I had half of the sandwich to go and they did not include the fries :(. To drink I had the Broadmoor Norteño which was good and had a habanero kick, and the misses had the Oaxacan Old Fashioned which was also delicious. Don't remember what the dessert was, but it was something like chocolate mousse and it was fabulous. We will go there again!
google avatar

Ashley L.

Yelp
Dishes are creatively curated and original. We had the fried chicken breast with mushroom sauce over mashed potatoes. We love dessert and coffee and they delivered with a bread pudding. The atmosphere is light and airy, and dressy casual. I've only been for lunch, so the vibe might shift at night. This is a favorite whenever in Shreveport.

Yelp
Welp, let me first say this was a first visit for my wife and I. Nearly missed getting a table on a Friday night because we lacked a reservation. Accommodated us by allowing us to sit at the countertop area that faces the open cooking. That was cool..being able to watch the chef's prepare and others make ready the food. The picture you see was the grilled oysters. Those are not last bites, that's the actual oysters. When I asked about them, the waiter simply said, "yep, that's them". My wife had the shrimp and grits, said they were excellent. I had the pork chop. Was really good actually. Wines were good, other sides as well. Please do better moving forward on the app!

Marlin R.

Yelp
Food was outstanding. Especially the ceviche. Service was great as well Highly impressed

Yelp
Went in for a birthday lunch and was treated with top notch service and AMAZING food and drinks!!! 15/10 would go back again for any occasion or just for fun. The atmosphere was very welcoming and warm. Cleaned the plate & I hardly ever do that!

Yelp
Shreveport isn't my normal stomping ground, but this place really stands out from everywhere else I tried! The staff is incredibly nice, and I thoroughly enjoyed my conversations and their recommendations. Everything I tried was wonderful, and I actually went back for their pâté a few days later! I highly recommend their cocktails. It's rare to find a drink that's flavorful and well balanced, and they really have done an outstanding job! I'll absolutely be back next time I'm in town!
google avatar

Brandy J.

Yelp
The food was very good and worth the price in my opinion. However, I have to warn any others that might go that their (enclosed) patio chairs are wicker with solid arms and quite narrow. I'm a size 16/18 and I was incredibly uncomfortable and could only sit one specific way without it hurting my thighs. So if you're a bigger person be sure to get the inside seating - although to be honest those chairs also had arms and did not look much wider.

Carpe D M.

Yelp
I only had the shrimp & grits, but it was delicious and had as many shrimp as I would've used if I were making the dish at home. The service was excellent. When a server (different from my own) saw me looking around, he came over, got me my to-go boxes, and had my server bring me my check. Also, my mojito was DELICIOUS (wish I'd had time for another)!

Nicole B.

Yelp
This place is a breath of fresh air. Everything was absolutely delicious. We tried a myriad of appetizers and made a meal out of them: the crab guacamole, the mint pesto, the tomato soup, the ceviche- everything had so much flavor, wasn't oversalted, tasted fresh, and the flavors were brought out beautifully. My partner ordered tomato soup and I was like "meh" when she placed the order (I mean tomato soup- how boring!). THEN- When it came to the table, I wished we'd have ordered 3 more bowls. It was like a roasted tomato- so so delicious. Best soup, much less tomato soup, I've ever eaten. Anyway, I don't live in town but am business traveling and this is the best food I've had in a year. You won't be sorry- try this place!

Yelp
What a nice upscale restaurant for the Shreveport / Bossier area. Food and service were fantastic

Yelp
Love this place best food and drinks you won't be disappointed. Service is great. It's always packed.

Yelp
It had been about a year and a half since I had been to this restaurant. The first experience was good and my drink was "LOVELY"-- I got something that time called "Broadmoor Norteño" - Sotol, guanabana liquor, pineapple syrup, lemon, habanero tincture ... smoky tasting. I had 2, they were so good. Not sure what happened this second (and LAST) time because the drink was TERRIBLE, bitter, UNDRINKABLE. My friend was laughing so hard at my facial expressions while attempting to swallow each sip. It was like drinking a bitter, bitter, BITTER medicine/soap-- without the soap fragrance, mind you-- there was zero sweetness from pineapple or lemon. I gave it a fair shot and sipped it a few more times and got down to 1/2. I am NOT fussy when it comes to alcohol. I've never had to return a drink to be re-made or just flat out refused to finish a drink I'm paying $14 for but damn. There were no bubbles in my drink so I don't think there was soap in it but there might as well have been a good tablespoon of Dawn in it. My friend got an Old Fashioned and it had the same awful bitter taste!!! What is happening at this place?!? I saw another review that gave 1 star and she said the same thing about the drinks. "They were OFF." That's a great description. The best bartender in town? LOL No thanks. I would say that I'd get wine my next time there but 1) the prices are so high for everything 2) the ambience is loud as F 3) I'm not planning to return. Like the 1 star post person, we were also charged for the drinks that we consumed a **small** portion of... The waitress was sweet and very apologetic and offered several times to have them re-made or switched to something else... and I'm glad I declined as-- we would have been charged for the crappy drinks AND the new ones as the 1 star post person had happen to THEM. That's not good customer service. Like I said... I don't send food or drinks back EVER but ... these drinks were the WORST I've ever experienced in a restaurant and I'm 50 years old. And then to be charged for them to boot... LOL We bought 4 appetizers and they were all fairly good-- nothing outstanding and nothing I NEED to go back and get in the future. Have a nice life, Zuzul... Ugh. THAT is the best bartender in town?!?! Please. The biggest thing is that we looked forward to our drinks at this place for a month or more... and they were the grossest.

Yelp
My family of 8 were in Shreveport for 3 weeks last summer and we ate at Zuzul 3 times during our stay. It was so delicious we just kept wanting to go back! The service was excellent, the food was fresh and flavorful, the ambiance was so fun! This restaurant was recommended to us and it was our favorite meal(s) during our stay.

Yelp
We had a great lunch today. Met up with our old lunch buddy, Wil, for this one.... The place was packed for lunch. The atmosphere was nice. We got 2 appetizers and split them. The charbroiled oysters are a JG must each place but these were just average compared to all the other places we have been. We have had ceviche once before and it was good but this appetizer of mixed shrimp, tuna and octopus ceviche served with tortilla chips rocked and was a favorite of ours. "J" and "G" both were not sure of it at first but we could not stop.....it won the appetizer battle. We got 3 different entrees and shared some with each. Wil, of course, went with the grilled octopus and I must say we liked it....not what was expected or chewy. "J" loves a good Cuban, as do I, and he got it and liked it. Lastly, I got the Shrimp & Grits and it maybe 6 out of 10....good but not great. We all had a good lunch and enjoyed the company and the ceviche and the grilled octopus won the day so don't hesitant to get those!

Yelp
Very pleasant spot with a unique menu! Lots of fresh options. I ordered the mahi mahi and my friend ordered the pork chop. My fish was cooked to perfection and the citrus vinaigrette it comes in was very light and pleasant. My friend loved the romesco sauce that comes with the pork chop and said his was seared perfectly too. The decor is very pleasing as well. Lots of white and blue tile, which really pops in the restaurant! Only complaint was I asked for it without avocado and it came with avocado on the dish. A very minor complaint in my opinion, I will definitely be back!

Jackie V.

Yelp
Branzini amazing! Our first visit was sheer delight! We had the special of the day, Mediterranean Branzini, a sea bass like fish, whole, served with a delicious sweet potato mash and green beans, carrots, and other veges. It's flavor reminded me of a mix between crab and lobster. It was more than enough for my husband and I but it was so delicious we ate it in one sitting. We chose to sit on the patio and it was all perfect! What a treat.

Yelp
Great food. Sat at the chef bar. Crowded. Hard to figure out the waitperson assignment. Each of the 4 couples at the Chef Bar had a different waitperson. I'm looking around each waitperson had tables in the main dining room and one on the outside patio. Seemed very inefficient. So that said, waitperson was good when we saw him but service didn't match the food.

Philip K.

Yelp
The food was wonderful. I had the steak (filet). One of the best steaks I have ever had, and I've had a bunch. My wife got the red fish which was also delicious! The service and atmosphere were good as well. I will definitely be going back.
google avatar

Dominik D.

Yelp
I would give them six stars if I could. They took simple and standard dishes, in our case shrimp n grits and fried chicken, and made them look and taste like something from a Michelin Star restaurant. The wait staff was wonderful. Even their bathroom soap looks intentional and aesthetic.
google avatar

Jarrod S.

Yelp
Started with the crab dip and it was a great portion for a starter. It was creamy and had huge chunks of crab. Wife had the Tuna dish and I had the chicken over sweet potatoes and the dish had great combo of sweet/ savory with the chicken. Normally go for the steak but wanted to try the chicken based on staff rec. Service was slow but they were out of touch was clear from being out of the game for awhile. Look forward to coming back with friends.

Kelly N.

Yelp
Great food and service very friendly. Dropped in to get a beverage and a small snack. We end up trying 6 dishes and all of them We're absolutely delicious!

Yelp
Went on a Thursday with a big party. Extremely good food. I thought my snapper was the best dish at the table until I tried someone else's fried chicken and then I realized I only want to eat that fried chicken for the rest of my life. It was that good.
google avatar

Elizabeth D.

Yelp
Everything we ordered was delicious: peach sangria, crab guacamole, branzino (special), pan seared tile fish. I've never had a less than terrific meal at Zuzul
google avatar

Jasmine M.

Yelp
Pleasantly surprised by how fresh everything tasted, got a whole fish, other members at my table opted for octopus, shrimp Alfredo and filets. Fried plantains were yummy as they always are. Fish was delicious. Octopus was cooked perfectly which is something you don't experience often. Will be going back, definitely a higher end eat. (Our bill was in excess of $300/4 people)

Yelp
In one word : prejudiced. Look at other reviews. Did people who were not of a certain color and demographic enjoy this place ? We certainly did not! Went here with two girlfriends from out of town . We were sat on the patio. It was not very busy-- there were only four other tables seated outside. It took a long time for the server to come to our table. He gave us a sigh of disappointment when we did not order the specials he was upselling. We let it slide. My calamari was good and fresh. My friends ordered cocktails that were off. We requested that the bartender make a different drink for my friend ( what they initially served us did not have the type of gin in it as claimed on the menu, my friend used to be a bartender, and when confronted on it the server admitted they were out.). The server decided to say their bartender was the best in town and that maybe we were not sophisticated enough to enjoy it. We figured he was having a baaaaad day. we ate our seafood. My order , fish and chips was fair. The fish was not fresh as claimed .Our table was not checked on, our waters not refilled, while those around us were extended this courtesy. The final straw : Our check had a charge for BOTH of the drinks -- the one my friend only took a sip of, and the one she replaced it with ). We left the server a 15 percent tip and left. Be careful, they are arrogant, and greedy, and do not take criticism well. I do not want this review to be a dog whistle for some people to visit this business .Sadly in this town it will happen.

Yelp
Got take out from here today. I was disappointed when I arrived and saw my food was being held at the hostess station outside. Aside from that the food smelled a bit too strong and I am an avid seafood eater. Thankfully the food tastes much better and I was able to get over the strong smell. The crab dip was honestly the best part of my meal and I can imagine just stopping by to pick this up. The shrimp and grits were good and lighter than most renditions. I had a empty shrimp shell that was left on but I won't complain too much about that, it happens. If I were to return again I would probably prefer to dine in.

Yelp
Best food in Shreveport. We had the tuna and sea bass and it was cooked perfectly. And only the sous chef was here tonight. Spencer was our waiter, he was so great! Highly recommend for a great night out.

Yelp
All of it is delicious, but trust me and order the seared tuna entree. Blow your mind tasty
