"Located in the historic Piazza della Minerva adjacent to the Pantheon, this recently renovated hotel occupies a palatial residence originally built in 1620 and later transformed into Palazzo Fonseca. The comprehensive restoration blends art-deco grandeur with restored historical features such as original marble statues by sculptor Rinaldo Rinaldi; the project was overseen by French architect and designer Hugo Toro, who added signature interior touches like shell-shaped bathroom sinks in guest rooms. Reopening reservations begin April 1, 2025, and the property will offer 93 rooms, including 36 suites and some rooms with Pantheon views. Accommodation types range from 270-square-foot Classic Rooms with king bed, marble bathroom, and complimentary soft drinks/coffee/tea in the minibar, up to a 2,530-square-foot top suite with separate living and dining spaces, vanity desk, and a bathroom with double sink, walk-in shower, and soaking tub. Rates for a Classic Room including breakfast start from €1,000 per night. Food-and-beverage options include a lobby lounge serving afternoon tea and a rooftop restaurant and bar called Voliera offering Mediterranean cuisine, craft cocktails, and panoramic views; additional amenities include a spa inspired by traditional Roman baths." - Bailey Berg
