"If kids ruled the world, the Thinkery would be considered one of our finest cultural institutions. The 40,000-square-foot space is filled with hands-on, interactive exhibits for babies to pre-teens. Interactive exhibitions that prompt curiosity and problem-solving are based in STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts, and math). You’ll typically find youngsters collecting faux chicken eggs and weighing vegetables in the “Let’s Grow” exhibit, which focuses on healthy eating; in the Kitchen Lab, elementary schoolers might be mixing everyday ingredients in semi-explosive experiments. In the Light Lab, kids can explore shadows and colors and ask questions about power and electricity. Special programming includes regular classes such as Art Start (sensory art play) or Tinkering Tots (using tools and exploring technology) for one- to four-year-olds.
