"It’s hard to choose just one beautiful lake in Austria, but our vote goes to Mondsee, about 20 miles east of Salzburg. The site is a popular stop on the original Sound of Music tour (which departs from the city center of Salzburg), as the town’s basilica served as the filming location for Maria’s wedding in the 1965 film.
