"Mitchell Z., a Queens-based animator, ended up spending 10 days in the LaGuardia Plaza Hotel near LaGuardia Airport, free of charge, while isolating from a roommate who tested positive for COVID-19. His belongings were searched upon entry, and he was given a private room with a TV to safely isolate for up to 14 days. Meals included breakfast at 7 a.m., lunch at noon, and dinner at 6 p.m. He received regular checkups from nurses checking his vitals, at 9 a.m. and 9 p.m. He also had a little oximeter to check blood-oxygen levels. Guests stay in their rooms most of the time, with two 15-minute breaks daily to step outside. Mitchell spent his time drawing, reading, watching YouTube videos and movies, taking long baths, and sleeping."
