We loved Room Eight, which has a private sitting room flooded with natural light, muted, soothing pink tones, a gas fireplace with a tiled hearth, and a firm, comfortable bed. Toiletries are from Lather. Drinking and dining—what are we looking at?A tapas-style breakfast, included in the room rate, has everything from frittatas to chilled oats to honey-roasted pineapple. And the service?Like all Lark Hotels, The Pomegranate has family-like, welcoming service, and staffers can easily provide strong Portland recommendations. What about the neighborhood? What will we find here?The historic West End is home to most of the original mansions built in the city, most of which have now been converted into apartments or B&Bs.
