"Opened in 2014, this historic Kirkwood specialty coffee and beer bar is the result of Jonathan Pascual’s vision—and a Kickstarter campaign that surpassed its funding goal in a mere seven days—to create a community in what he called a "coffee desert.” The cafe is tucked on the bottom floor of a low-rise townhouse building. Inside, pale blue walls, wood paneling, white countertops, and modern pendant lights give it a vibe that hovers somewhere between industrial and new-trying-to-look-old. The beans are roasted locally by East Pole Coffee, and there are really well-made espresso, lattes, and cappuccinos, as well as draft coffee or tea drinks, which are all brewed in-house. Taproom also rotates nine taps, focusing on limited-release or seasonal beers." - Jennifer Bradley Franklin
