"Grupo Habita transformed a 1929 office building into a cool, cleaned‑up industrial space with brass fixtures and a rooftop pool offering 360‑degree views. I found the corner suites at the point of the building to be the best rooms, where eight wraparound windows overlook the junction of Milwaukee, North, and Damen Avenues and flood interiors with natural light. The decor, by Nicolas Schuybroek and Marc Merckx, is simple and almost austere—minimal furnishings, a low‑key gray palette with maroon hints—and the bathroom's wire‑glass window nods to the building's office past. After exploring Wicker Park‑Bucktown, it's nice to return for a glass of wine at Café Robey’s sun‑drenched booths." - Jamie Spain
