"The Florida native sees this as an opportune moment to challenge the white-dominated narrative of the Emerald City's restaurant landscape, which is why he helped organize the Soul of Seattle food festival in February. “The goal was to bring awareness to the Black chefs who are the fabric of Seattle's culinary scene and oftentimes get placed in the back,” says Jordan, owner of the Southern-leaning JuneBaby, high-end Salare, and elegant Lucinda Grain Bar, who trained at the French Laundry."
