"How did it strike you on arrival?I didn't know whether to stare up at the ornate ceiling or down at the pretty floor tiles—and then the intricately carved reception desk caught my eye. Nice. What’s the crowd like?Well-dressed thirtysomethings who have traveled to Mexico for work and/or pleasure—and who are informed enough to have chosen the city's exclusive Polanco neighborhood. The good stuff: Tell us about your room. The 11 rooms vary in size, but each has a pretty fabric headboard and modern artwork. If you can, book one that's street-facing, as they tend to be brighter. We’re craving some deep, restorative sleep. They got us?All of the beds are covered in 500-thread-count Egyptian cotton linens. Heaven. How about the little things, like mini bar, or shower goodies. Any of that find its way into your suitcase?I loved lathering up with L'Occitane amenities before slipping into the plush bathrobes. Please tell us the bathroom won’t let us down. The grey mottled-stone sinks, the solid water pressure, the oversized robes—loved 'em all. Maybe the most important topic of all: Wi-Fi. What’s the word? There is strong, free Wi-Fi throughout the hotel. Room service: Worth it?Room service is only available Wednesday through Saturday. On the other days, you'll have to order in from a nearby restaurant—but the staff will collect the food and bring it to your room. And there are so many great options, you'll actually be spoiled for choice. Anything stand out about other services and features? Whether it’s childcare, gyms, spas, even parking—whatever stuck with you.The rooftop restaurant turns into a nightclub Wednesday through Saturday; the noise can be off-putting if you're an early-to-bed light sleeper. What was most memorable—or heartbreaking—about your stay? The combination of original architecture and contemporary design is impressive, but you may be disappointed if you stay on a night when when a party is in full swing. Bottom line: worth it, and why?The hotel is small, so the personal service and attention to detail are impeccable." - Susannah Rigg
