"Opened in September 2018 in Somerville’s Davis Square, this neo-retro places takes as its inspiration the super-casual, counter-service by-the-slice joints that co-owner Charlie Redd remembers growing up with in the 1980s and ’90s. Like those of his memories, this one has a bit of an old-school, punk-rock sensibility. And the pizza is similarly old school: big New York–style, hand-tossed, thin-crust pies topped with a mix of classic Italian cheeses and simple tomato sauce. There’s room for experimentation here, too, however. Among the more standard-fare pies (three-cheese, margherita, peperoni) are signature maple bacon and cheddar and Kung Pao chicken numbers you’re unlikely to find anywhere else." - Elizabeth Wellington, Andrew Sessa
