"Raw bars may rule summer, but fall is prime time for oysters, so a friend and I went big at this Mediterranean seafood spot near Union Square. We settled into a cozy window table with a flower box overlooking a garden — so picturesque it felt like a country house — and ordered the raw bar plate ($77), a showstopper with large langoustines perched on the rim and other sea creatures, sourced internationally, scattered over ice. The spread offered a playful variety of textures and flavors, from velvety tuna to silky salmon, and the little vials of raspberry and mango vinaigrette added bright acidity and gentle sweetness. It was such a fun feast, with shells glistening so beautifully, we were tempted to take them home as souvenirs." - Nadia Chaudhury
