"Marin's newest dining destination in Kentfield is a sleek addition from chef Jared Rogers—whose decade in Larkspur and work at Picco inform the menu—and bartender Dustin Sullivan (Lord George). Called Guesthouse, it offers classic American dishes with a twist, including quail grilled and served with chanterelles and bacon stuffing alongside grits, roasted carrots, and game jus; a prime steak dinner with Béarnaise; and many items cooked over a six-foot J&R wood-fired grill from Texas. Small plates include Dungeness crab cakes with remoulade, and the menu also features soups, salads, and pastas. Sullivan's cocktails stay in that lane too, from a “properly made Martini” (gin, dry vermouth, and orange bitters) to a mezcal negroni laced with Cappelletti, while John Anderson provides a wine list that leans toward biodynamic and organic bottles from around the world. The 110-seat interior, designed by Hannah Collins Designs, pairs warm wood and brass with patterned grey-and-white wallpaper and a concrete bar that seats 16. Guesthouse is open seven days a week from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m., with happy hour from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m." - Ellen Fort
