"I’m looking forward to Little Fib, which is set to open on the first floor of the Renaissance Nashville Hotel at 611 Commerce Street in late September. It will serve elevated Southern cuisine in an American retro–themed setting, complete with a wall lined with photos of the Man in Black. Menu details aren’t available yet, but the full bar will include 12 draft handles, an extensive cocktail menu, and specialty drinks, and the dining room will center on a 26-seat bar with two private dining tables, dozens of booths and side tables, and seating for 185 total. The name draws on a quote about the progression of country music — "From 'three chords and the truth,' it moves to 'five chords and a little fib,' to 'eight chords and an outright lie.'" Executive chef James Kerwin, a Detroit native who moved to Nashville to open Little Fib, says he aims to deliver "nostalgic comfort cooking seen through a modern lens;" he brings a decade of experience in Chicago’s top kitchens, has earned local and international recognition, worked as an innovator for Renaissance hotels, spent time at Bonsoiree (which earned a Michelin star), and most recently opened the Showroom Food Hall and Woven & Bound at the Chicago Marriott Marquis. Their promotional copy promises a charming night out and says the restaurant will highlight contemporary American fare with cultivated, Midwestern-influenced touches." - Delia Jo Ramsey
