"A national fast-casual burrito chain is facing a lawsuit from New York City alleging violations of the city's Fair Workweek law, which requires employers to provide two weeks' advance notice of work schedules. The city alleges violations at five Brooklyn locations affecting more than 30 employees and is investigating 11 additional locations in Manhattan; it seeks roughly $1 million in penalties, including restitution. The company says it is working with the city and believes the filing was unnecessary. This marks the first time a fast-food chain has been sued under the new law. The brand was founded in 1993 at the intersection of East Evans Avenue and South Gilpin Street near the University of Denver, and its corporate headquarters remained in Denver until a March 2018 move to Newport Beach, California after 25 years." - Paul Albani-Burgio
