"Sweet Science Coffee has opened its first standalone shop in NoMa. The cafe differentiates itself from corporate coffee giants by slow-brewing craft coffee in eight distinctive devices and using both old-school and modern tools. The shop stocks five different coffees, rotating every three months, and features a three-seat 'slow bar' as the heart of the operation. The cafe also offers a pastry program and plans to add wine and craft beer to the menu. A second location in Arlington is expected by spring." - Lenore Adkins
