"Set to open on Thursday, February 1 in Little Italy, Harumama is a new Asian eatery created by local restaurateurs Jenny and James Pyo (who also run Love Boat Sushi, Blue Ocean Robata and Sushi Bar, and Pokewan) that draws on dishes from Chinese, Japanese and Korean cuisines with a playful, modern twist. The menu highlights Instagram-friendly character steamed buns—the pig bun filled with pork and caramelized onion, a chicken bun encasing egg custard, and a panda bun hiding purple sweet potato—alongside starters like krab cream cheese wontons with passion fruit sauce and tempura taro; noodles including ramen in pork, chicken, or vegetable broths and stir-fried noodle plates; fluffy bao stuffed with duck, spam, crunchy shrimp and pulled chicken; as well as specialty sushi rolls and protein-topped rice bowls. The Columbia Street eatery will be open 11 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and will offer local and Japanese beer plus wine and sake." - Candice Woo
