"International carnivorous chain Fogo de Chão touched down at the Wharf on Monday, November 11 (698 Maine Avenue SW). Located a 30-minute walk south of D.C.’s first Fogo on Pennsylvania Avenue NW, the latest locale is sizably smaller but does come with an extra perk: a pretty patio surrounded with fire pits. An open churrasco grill gives guests a 360-degree vantage point of gaucho chefs carving and roasting dry-aged proteins before they parade around the room. The Wharf’s endless meat-on-a-stick experience with a salad bar ($67.50) is a few bucks less than the D.C. original ($74) — where VP-elect J.D. Vance is a known customer as of late. There’s also area Fogos in Northern Virginia (Tysons, Reston) and Maryland (North Bethesda, National Harbor). Happy hour here is an all-day affair, complete with $10 Caipirinhas, $8 South American wines, and $5 beers. Fogo de Chão, founded in Southern Brazil in 1979, currently has over 70 locations spread across Brazil, the U.S., Mexico, and the Middle East. The Wharf’s Fogo, open for lunch, dinner, and weekend brunch out of the gate, donates 10 percent of opening week sales to charity No Kid Hungry." - Emily Venezky
