"The company behind esteemed, upscale Japanese restaurants Sushi Amane and Mifune is getting into the yakitori game. Tokyo Restaurants Factory, whose Sushi Amane is Michelin-starred, will raise the curtain Tuesday on Toriko NY, a fine-dining restaurant in Greenwich Village specializing in the grilled chicken skewer. Located at 76 Carmine St., between Varick and Bedford streets, it’s the first NYC location for the restaurant, which has grown to a dozen locations in Japan since debuting in 2011. Here, chef Shinji Odahara will be leading the kitchen of chefs, who will use electric grills instead of charcoal ones. Like other yakitori restaurants, Toriko uses all parts of the chicken for the skewers." - Serena Dai
