"A nationally celebrated chicken cart and recent James Beard semifinalist, Nong’s Khao Man Gai plans to open a brick-and-mortar downtown on April 1. The Instagram announcement and a closer look at the photo reveal the new spot will occupy the former Heart Pizza location on SW 13th near Burnside; owner Nong Poonsukwattana told Eater the cart on Alder should stay open “until they kick us out.” They already have one other brick-and-mortar next to Marukin Ramen on Ankeny, and if the new menu mirrors that location I expect a larger selection of rice dishes and cocktails rather than just the flagship five: poached chicken, rice, ginger sauce, broth, and garnishes.
