"Just six months after it started, Wade BBQ’s run at 5 Sanborn Court in Somerville’s Union Square is over. Boston.com reports that proprietor David Wade received notice from his landlord on March 28 that his lease was going to be terminated at the end of April. The termination stems from ventilation issues with the barbecue smoke, Wade says, and a neighboring tenant had complained to the landlord. Wade started smoking the meats outside, but couldn’t control which direction the wind would blow the smoke, and a second tenant complained to the landlord. Wade was gaining positive traction in the startup’s first few months for the rich, smoky, ‘Boston-style’ barbecue that he is pioneering, including a spot on Eater Boston’s heatmap of the hottest new restaurants around the city. He hopes to be back up and running shortly: According to Boston.com, he wants to find a new home for Wade BBQ as quickly as possible, preferably in the same neighborhood." - Erika Adams
