"Tucked between two buildings at 1345 N. Wells Street in Old Town, this third Wells Street outpost serves the brand’s classic double-stack—an iteration of the famed Au Cheval burger that ranks among the most popular in Chicago and nationally. With minimal signage, the restaurant uses a driveway leading to the entrance that will become patio seating for about 100 and will serve alcoholic beverages, adding another al fresco option along Wells. Inside are a few communal tables and five stools at the front window, and the menu sticks to the standard offerings of burgers, fries, and milkshakes. Operated by Hogsalt Hospitality (the original Bucktown site opened in 2015 and a second city location debuted in the Loop last October), the spot stays open late—typically until 1 a.m. most nights—making it attractive to post-midnight crowds." - Ashok Selvam
