"Located at 1014 N. Rampart St. on the edge of the French Quarter, this small bistro opened at the end of October after local investors transformed a historic Creole cottage into a modern, sleek restaurant with a lounge, two bars, and a narrow dining area that spills into a charming back courtyard. Longtime New Orleans chef Eason Barksdale (14 years with Susan Spicer at Mondo and Bayona) leads the kitchen and is focusing on small plates for a concise, globally influenced menu, with dishes like tom yum chicken, squid ink spaghetti, and tuna tartare. Bijou is open for dinner Wednesday through Saturday and for brunch and dinner on Sunday." - Clair Lorell
