"Located in Albany Park, this family-owned spot feels like a mom-and-pop restaurant back home, with dine-in silogs and a to-go turo-turo counter, and it serves the classic sisig with all the good pork. Light smoke rises off the sizzling skillet as crackling oil coats chopped pork face, brightened by green peppers and parsley and finished with egg and chiles; the aroma even drew questions from a neighboring table. The first bite hits that sweet spot of crispy and chewy, herbs and spices accentuating the different textures of the face. Made in-house, the sisig takes about 20 minutes, and I love hearing the loud chopping from the kitchen — it’s exactly what it’s like to dine in the Philippines." - Alyssa Rola
