"I've known the nearly 30-year-old Peacock Cafe in Georgetown as the brothers' original spot, opened in 1991 with an American-friendly menu of salads and grilled meats; starting around 2010, after an invitation to cook at the James Beard House for a Nowruz dinner, Maziar Farivar began offering Persian specials a couple days per week, and several of those dishes proved popular enough with non-Iranians to become permanent menu items and ultimately convinced the brothers they could open a restaurant solely dedicated to food from their homeland." - Gabe Hiatt
