"After baking bread and cookies Sunday night, the Zilker bakery ThoroughBread was unable to sell them on Monday when the power went out, so the owners set their wares out for the taking in front of the store — "It was a no-brainer to leave all the baked goodies out front for our neighbors," owner Ryan Goebel says. To preserve inventory, Goebel also tried to "turn the whole place into a refrigerator" by propping doors and windows open; he reports the bakery was at 36 degrees and hoped that approach might save some items." - Erin Russell
