"I'm reporting that High 5 is expanding with a second local location, bringing the Lakeway bowling-alley-bar-restaurant concept closer to central Austin; owners Jennifer and Scott Emley are taking over the old Goodnight bowling alley bar at 2700 West Anderson Lane in North Shoal Creek sometime in early November. The new High 5 will feature food by chef David Hedger with a general all-around menu that includes chicken fried steak, meat and veggie burgers, and barbecue bacon-wrapped jalapeños with shrimp or chicken, plus more. Drinks will include beers, wines, and cocktails with an emphasis on infused spirits. The space will be family-friendly during daytime and early evenings and switch to adults-only after 10 p.m. For entertainment, I note eight bowling lanes, arcade games, karaoke, and virtual-reality setups, along with a patio and a mural by artist Rory Skagen. The Emleys originally opened the Lakeway High 5 in January 2016, and High 5 bills itself as a premier family entertainment venue with an exclusive partnership with Brunswick Corporation." - Nadia Chaudhury
