"Closed abruptly just a little over six months after opening, this Washington Avenue sushi restaurant had its lease terminated, locks changed and a “for lease” sign posted at 1902 Washington Avenue while it was still accepting OpenTable reservations; the owners have not responded to requests for comment. During its short run it drew a mixed bag of reviews—Yelpers reported inconsistent service and quality, though the most recent review praised the sushi and shabu shabu—and had been actively encouraging diners to leave Yelp feedback. The sushi bar was led by Shimao Ishikawa, a well-regarded chef with roughly 40 years of experience who came from New York City’s Jewel Bako." - Amy McCarthy
