"Someday archaeologists will take core samples from the walls of this downtown Portland drinking den to chart the course of the city’s underground culture. A compact pillbox of a bar just off the MAX tracks, the Yamhill has been slinging stiff drinks to shift workers on smoke breaks since before the nearby Morrison Bridge was built.
