"I can head to the new Shake Shack in San Mateo’s Hillsdale Shopping Center starting at 11 a.m. on Sunday, December 15, where the 3,850-square-foot storefront—constructed with recycled, salvaged, and sustainable materials—includes an outdoor patio with a custom mural by SF artist Fnnch. In addition to the chain’s smash-style burgers, crinkle-cut fries, chicken sandwiches, and flat-top-griddled hot dogs, this location will offer local-specific desserts and drinks developed with Pie Dreams, Dandelion Chocolate, and Manresa Bread, including the MB Malt (frozen vanilla custard, malted fudge sauce, and a Manresa Bread whole wheat chocolate chip walnut cookie), S’Mores made with frozen chocolate custard, marshmallow sauce, graham crackers, and Dandelion chocolate chunks, and Pie Oh My (vanilla custard blended with seasonally selected chunks of Pie Dreams pie); five percent of Pie Oh My sales will go to SF-based nonprofit food business incubator La Cocina. The spot will also serve beer and wine—both Shake Shack–branded and offerings from Fort Point Beer Company, 21st Amendment Brewery, and Drake’s Brewing Company." - Eve Batey
