"I discovered that Wild Things Wine grew out of a pandemic wine club Rossiter started for friends and has since become an online natural-wine shop she runs personally, selling bottles online and personally shuttling them to homes across the East Bay. Rossiter’s circuitous journey—from nearly a decade in London marketing to yoga-centered years in India and Bali before landing in the Bay Area—led her to fall head over heels for natural wine, and that deep interest now fuels the business. Buying wine from Rossiter feels like asking my most experimental best friend for a recommendation: she often handles communications herself via keyboard, texts and DMs on Instagram, follows up to ask how customers liked their purchases, and curates selections that "don’t fall into those classic categories of wine." Through contacts including a friend at Jenny & Francois Selections in New York she has honed her buying style and stocks local selections from Richmond’s Purity Wine and Somerset’s La Clarine Farm and Jolie-Laide in Sebastopol, as well as bottles from farther afield such as Pheasant’s Tears Winery in Georgia and Matic Wines in Slovenia; she also favors Italian producers like Collecapretta, Frank Cornelissen, and Fongolli and carries Meinklang from Austria and Raimones from Spain. In addition to direct sales and subscriptions, she conducts in-home guided tastings and with each order provides tasting notes, winemaker background and food-pairing ideas—true personal touches because, as she says, she loves curating wine for people and building connections; it's a conversation. Find Wild Things Wine via the online shop or @wildthingswine on Instagram." - Dianne de Guzman
