New Orleans’s Willie Mae’s Debuts Fried Chicken Sandwich in LA | Eater LA

"At HiHo Cheeseburger's Mid-Wilshire location I can try “The Willie Mae” chicken sandwich starting this Saturday; it’s a collaboration with New Orleans institution Willie Mae’s Scotch House created by Kerry Seaton-Stewart together with HiHo founders Jerry Greenberg and Lowell Sharron. The sandwich features breast meat, bread-and-butter pickles, a honey drizzle, fresh red cabbage, and a tangy sauce on a toasted brioche bun. It will be available for dine-in and takeout through the weekend, with delivery and pickup on Postmates and HiHo Mobile beginning Monday, September 28, and the special runs only through November 30. Greenberg says they’re Willie Mae’s biggest fans, and Seaton-Stewart will visit LA monthly to oversee the quality and secrecy of the recipe." - Cathy Chaplin
