"Set on the corner of Sunset Boulevard and Laveta Terrace, this flagship Los Angeles outpost of Mexico City’s legendary churreria is slated for a mid-September debut, transforming the former Patra Burgers space with a clean, modern look featuring a creamy white exterior, signature blue neon signage, colorful artwork, outdoor dining, and an attached parking lot. Designed by Nacho Cadena of Cadena Concept Design, the almost 100-year-old brand’s 19th location will operate from 8 a.m. to 11 p.m., and possibly until 1 or 2 a.m. on weekends, serving churros with seven types of chocolate for dipping or drinking alongside champurrado, café de olla, and horchata lattes. Beyond the classics, the menu adds an ice cream churro sandwich, al pastor tortas, mole, and more. Founded in 1935 by the Iriarte family, the team frames this opening as a way to share Mexico City tradition and culture with Los Angeles." - Mona Holmes
